Oh cool! We didn't manage to catch the bats this time as we had to take off pretty quickly to get to the next destination but I imagine they're amazing to see. I always enjoyed seeing the bats fly out from under the Congress Ave bridge in Austin. 👍
My family and I went there too, also saw the bats. Every year we went to Colorado also. So many memories. Reminds me of my dad.. wish I could get those times back. I sure would have appreciated it more
Thank you Glenn and Amy! I’ve been binge watching your travels in Arizona/Utah. This is my first NM journey! Thank you both for the hard work it takes in creating RU-vid videos!!
We've been to Carlsbad Caverns a half dozen times, but each time I'm reminded of my reaction the first time I was there... and your reaction was precisely the same. it really does leave you stunned! Thanks for showing the caverns again.
Absolutely our pleasure! Seeing the caverns in a video is one thing but I think without having been there it's impossible to really portray the sense of awe one has when first entering it. It's truly a spectacular place. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. 😊
Just finished hiking this yesterday. Not a lot of people at all so it ridiculously quiet; it was pretty awesome. We hiked the entire trail, beginning with the Natural Entrance. The smell on the way down wasn’t pleasant at all, but once you pass the cave swallows and enter the cavern, the rest of your senses take over. Everywhere you turn there was something new to look at. We came back for the bat flight program later and that was also a sight to see. Such an unforgettable experience.
Absolutely agree with everything you said. Similar experience. Unfortunately didn't have time to see the bat flight but I suppose that just leaves room to visit it again. 😅
Fabulous video, Glenn & Amy! So awesome that you had the cave to yourself and could get some terrific shots without waiting for people to get out of your way. Thank you for sharing!
It was pretty a pretty surreal and private bit for a while there. We thought we heard on a documentary once about Walt Disney getting a private tour (or requesting to stay overnight, we're not sure) and one could only imagine that feeling was similar.
You're going to have a blast! It's such an amazing place. Not going to lie... kind of jealous right now. 😂 Thanks so much for watching & the kind comment.
Carlsbad caverns is amazing! Did you know the pecos river recently flooded the town of Carlsbad -people had to evacuate! The caverns are back open. I cant imagine being the first person to explore the cave! Scary!
Excellent tour underground. As usual always nice to see the history behind it. I must say, they might have explored these caves in pitch dark, now that we have all the lighting, but must have been difficult to explore in the beginning. Nice structures of rock. I remembered a cave visited in Shenandoah National Park, called the Luray caverns. Thanks for rekindling my memories. Its nice feeling to be able to see these caves and be awe at the nature's natural formations.
Loved it and it was so pretty in there. Went there years ago as a kid but just might have to go again.. well done both of you. Looking forward to white sands now.
I would be in there all damn day taking photos...definitely a MUST! I really would love to go to this but I'm a little bit scared on my own...just kinda dark...eeriness.
Excellent video. I have watched over 100 videos and yours has the best clarity of the formations. Can you please tell me what brand/model camera you are using and if it's point and shoot or are you having to hold the shutter open for more light? Also, if it's ok to ask, how much it would cost me to get one? Thank you.
