This was the most emotional loss of the show so far. Carleigh is so strong, she deserved that win, I consider her the winner of season 3 without a doubt.

I literally felt this amazing Woman’s struggle as the show went on and how she overcame it. She is very wise and deeply rooted with her soul. Best tv that I have ever watched. Thank you Carleigh you are amazing and inspirational, God bless.

Carliegh should have got half the prize money. Or a large amount for a consultation prize. She would have out lasted the winner in season 3. I think it was stolen from her. Very disappointing.

To tell you the truth while I think she should have won, she has an amazing place unlike fowler ( even tho he had land) so I'm happy with the results bc fowler really needed the money

Carleigh is a very tough survivalist, don't let her quietness fool you, she is tough as nails. Alone season 3 was the most all around best group of any on Alone. Naturally Fowler was good, then add in Carleigh, Dave Nessia, and nobody can forget about Callie, tough as nails! She ate a 3 course meal a day or so before tapping out, she makes the little extras to make her stay more enjoyable. What a cool bunch.

She should have WON , shame on the show for pulling her out instead of her apponent , what a complete joke this made the show.... YOU SHOULD HAVE WON CARLEIGH , they rigged it against you , feel so sorry for you , you a re the winner not the guy who they "chose" to win , SHAMEFULL.

if she'd just made a pontoon raft and a lot of netting, and known what to do with them, she'd have won easily. She'd have been eating well within 2 weeks.

the kelp beds on vancouver often extend for many meters from shore. So you can't get your pontoon outrigger raft back to shore (if you're a small woman) unless you take it apart. So you have to use netting and big rocks to make an anchor. Also need the anchor in case of rogue waves or rip tides. Best also have a sea anchor, made of a chunk of tarp, inside netting, so as to act as a parachute in the water. normally, you'd stay within a few meters of the kelp beds, but if your location lacks resources, you might need to paddle up and down the coast a couple of miles in each direction, looking for a better spot. I'd not risk taking all of my gear on such a trip, especially not the exploritory trips.

If you dont take the 2 person, 9 stand, 750 paracord hammock, unravel it, access the inner strands and weave over 1200 sq ft of 3" mesh netting, you will win only by luck. You'll also have to juice the kelp and use the fishheads and guts to bait in a bear and arrow it from your tree platform blind. You'll have to boil off saltwater, all day, every day for 2 weeks, to have enough salt to reliably cure that fatty bear meat. Render down the fat, and keep it cool in water. it will help you to choke down all the dried fish.

Use the life preserver, the rainsuit, and the pack, stuffed full of force-dried soft debris, as your pontoons, to guarantee buoyancy. Take the duct tape for sealing all water tight.

you can be weaving more netting as you sit in the tree blind, and it takes about 2 hours per day to juice enough kelp to have a qt of it. You have to first wash the kelp in freshwater, and then boil the juice after you've extracted it. it's a huge pita, but the only reliable carb source on vancouver at that time of year. Gotta have carbs and fish and game offer none.

it only takes half a day to weave 200 sq ft of 3" mesh netting, cause the large mesh makes it very easy to get the needle thru your last mesh. If you need 1.5" mesh, merely fold the netting back on itself, and tie every other mesh. But once you weave it as 1.5" mesh, you're stuck with it. and that's just too small. You want to catch big fish, if you can.

Carleigh, I want to say that I am appalled at this show. I once wanted to come on it and defeat Nature and my competitors. But now, I have no desire at all. A religiously staffed company spreading religious undertones (almost sickeningly in Season 2), showed me that they have an agenda beyond pure competition. To push their religious agenda even further, they hamstring the female species to a biased BMI index that favors men over women. This auto disqualification "medical" decider instantly gives men the deciding vote and keeps to the religious agenda that a man is above a woman in all things but giving birth and cooking dinner. Carleigh was just as lucid, thought provoking, and active as Fowler, on that last day. She lost because of a broken system of measurements that gives a man a 100 lb range of loss, and a woman 40 lbs in a simple difference of around 6 inches of height. They instilled it to keep her and the rest of the women "under control". I've now seen the new qualifications for entering the Alone Survival Show: Be Obese, Be a Christian, and Be a Man.... that is.... if you want to win. I'm sorry they treated you this way. Your efforts deserved more than their internal checks and balances.

I feel that their system is probably flawed and definitely biased against women. Yes she was thin but she was not out of the game!

Iron - And yet Carleigh had to go to the hospital and be nursed back to health. She said on the season wrap up it took her 5 months to recover. Fowler went home to his family, bought a house, moved off his land and kept on trucking. I was disappointed when they pulled her as well but be realistic, Fowler was going to live longer if no one was coming to save them.

and yet Carleigh walks out from the camp unassisted with no issues, gets on the boat unassisted with no issues. Only then do they show her in a hospital bed eating fruit. If she truly needed five months to recover, she would have needed a stretcher to get extracted from her camp. They show you what they "need" you to see. I'm sure they paid her and extra 25,000 or so to play along in the reunion special as well. What I saw out there was a capable, albeit thinner, woman who was just as "able minded and bodied" as that winner (who's name I will never care to remember).

She was the biggest surprise in this entire series. You didn’t lose, young lady. You never broke. I don’t think there’s an employer on earth that wouldn’t hire you in a heartbeat after watching this. I’d be beaming with pride as a father.
