I’d love a landing craft but they are so heavy. I’m not sure we could pull it out of the water in bad weather. Yeah hopefully gas prices will go back down but I don’t think they will. I think it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. We shall see. Say hi to Von for us.

@@AnAlaskaHomestead Yea I am sure that unless he is dead? He can have thoughts, lol! I wonder what he thinks of our HNLMS Van Amstel? And it's crew told to turn about and NOT sail into US territorial water? Shame when Katrina was heading toward landfall? The US ships all turned around and sped for safety. While we hoisted the mighty red, white and blue and sped into ... a CAT5 at full srenght. What is next? You cannot fly a helo during a active hurricane and save abandoned citizens from drowning? And when Bush pins metal onto 150+ chests? You cannot salute a US President with a 150+ middle fingers? Yes ... We can! Think it it as building a wall? Not a fence but that sea wall for New Orleans which? You cannot build on a swamp? Oh yes we can. Sure I get told you cannot live below sea level even when that is simple fact. Just like not selling out ocean going class designs when US ONR came knocking at our door. We just raised our drawbridge. With the big middle finger on the underside. Our goverment was shown the same when they told us to surrender to Nazi's. I do sometimes wonder what Witte de Wit thought being a politicans. While he was eaten alive for failing his people. There comes a time for thoughts. And taking action dangeling your balls on a rope picking Americans off their roofs you know. As if my lands of the free will ever go with ... it cannot be done. We're just going to do it regardless. Cannot stop the Dutch Dream. Where did the American Dream go?

It gets really windy here in the winter and we don’t get down into the negative temps so the passage doesn’t freeze. The harbor in the bay does freeze from time to time but not thick enough that the boat can’t break through it.

I begged to get stationed in Alaska when I was in the Army. Now im in my early 50s and retired and still want to live in Alaska. People call this a subsistence lifestyle, but I still see a lifestyle needing a lot of money to live there! I'm not sure if my little retirement of 5k a month would allow me to move out there and live on. I've been looking at land in the southern part of Alaska lately, and it's not priced too badly for 50 - 100 acers on a few different remote lakes, but it says "can be accessed by plane or snowmobile" in the ad. How do you get everything you own out to a 150 acer plot of land on a nice lake to build anything on if the only way in or out is an hour and a half snowmobile ride? I have so many questions!

Howdy Brian, Diana!! Man, the pups are growing like crazy!!! Well, it's finally scheduled (if nothing happens to force a change of plans... like 90+ year old parents passing...). I plan on leaving south Texas on May 29 or 30th, and moving up to the property on the Kenai Peninsula near Ninilchik. I know, right... it's been a long time planning to get to this point. Now comes the real challenge... sifting, sorting, getting rid of everything that is not going (which is a lot). I'll be driving the truck, pulling a trailer with my motorcycle, new CF Moto 4-wheeler, and the truck has a topper on the back so that's where the 4 dogs will be riding. I'm guesstimating 10-12 days for the drive... maybe less if I find someone to ride along and help with the dogs, so I should be there by June 10th at the latest. I seem to remember that y'all went to fish the Kenai area once a year??? If you do come that way, let me know!! It would be awesome to meet up! I don't know if you follow "Sean In Alaska" or not, but he and I have developed a good friendship. He's wanting me to give him BRISKET lessons... so probably sometime in July or August we'll do that. Don't try to tell me that you don't miss good old Texas Brisket??? lol... We will probably do a joint video when we do the brisket. So keep that in the back of your mind should you happen to venture towards the Peninsula this summer. Those new boots and waders look really nice!! A couple of friends of mine from the channel "Wood and Waters Outdoors" just got a pair of those as well. I may have to seriously consider them. Take care guys!! Bill

I’d give either of my beans to have a cabin with 3 bedrooms backed up to public hunting area. And a grocery store within 100miles. If that means I have to take a boat so be it. But I’ve struggle to pay for a $20k home the last 20yrs. Been trying to find something with $50k for a solid 10yrs now. I’ll be in my grave and never reach this goal. My state has always sucked.

People are so ingrossed in their lives that they can't see what they doing to everything around them. Yes it's neat, but loads of mountains are being taken town for that time that in that guys life and everyone that has a life like that. God I hope all that is going to be properly recycled and not just left ina huge junk pile somewhere.

It didn’t affect us at all. I’d go to town and had totally forgotten there is a pandemic going on. We did catch it after a friend flew up to visit. He must of picked it up in Seattle.

Does the salt water hurt the dogs in any way? Do you have to rinse they off or anything like that.
@AnAlaskaHomestead
@AnAlaskaHomestead 2 года назад
Yes and no. It’s not harmful to them to swim or play in. If they get thirsty and drink salt water that’s bad for their system and usually ends up with them puking. If we go for long walks we will bring fresh water for the dogs to drink.

@AnAlaskaHomestead

I seen you guys have been cut off to civilization right now. Hope you all get the repairs to the road done soon. Last year of Trump we actually had fuel in the high $2 range. It is normally $3.50 and now it’s $4.65

Great video Brian and Dianna! Looked like Juneau was pretty quiet that day! Shop closed? Must have been a Friday! 😉 Every time Raven or Skipper would whine, Kenai would look at my computer with his ears perked up and tilting his head 🤣 I am going to look into the boots! I need a pair for spring mud coming up soon. Nice 2.0 jeeping trail you got there back to the cabin! Always good to see everyone! Take care! 😁
@AnAlaskaHomestead

Ha Gunner never paid attention to dogs on tv or a video but Raven always barks of a dog makes a sound😂 So far I have no complaints with the boots and they are cheaper than Mucks or Xtratufs. Hope you have a great week. Looking forward to some more big foot sightings😂
