Alone on Ama Dablam 6812m

2014 - My first time visiting the Himalayas.
At the time I was really driven to become the youngest to solo Ama Dablam 6812m and set a new record.
looking back at it now I'm surprised that this was a huge motivation for me but I also came to the realization that these things change.
Nowadays I'm driven by my curiosity - to learn what awaits me up somewhere where nobody has ever been and to get to know what I'm capable of as an Alpinist, as a human being.
I filmed everything with a single Gopro back then.

I just returned last week from Summiting Ama Dablam. I used fixed rope everywhere above camp I. Toughest feat of my entire life. I could not even begin to imagine taking it on without the aid of fixed rope. Extremely impressive. Congratulations mate.

Find the online price differences quite confusing. Can you tell how much you paid for the trip? Thank's!

@Dean Miller Correct, hard not to notice the fixed rope in the video. He didn't seem tied off to it at any point though.
@triroli71
@triroli71 4 года назад
@@frankobrien1371 In the summit pictures you can see that there ist a ascender at the belt. Even more strange is the summit panorama. It seems that the summit is the highest in the area, but it's not. You can never see Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse. I think everything is fake. Certainly a high mountain.
@daveontheharp9240
@daveontheharp9240 4 года назад
@@triroli71 The summit panorama is fast, but you can see Everest and Lhotse for sure at 5'57, and again, more clearly on the second time round at 6'01. The large, black south face of Lhotse with the summit of Everest behind, If you pause it you can see cloud streaming off the summit of Everest. What an achievement! Man, how I would love to see that panorama!!

That looked like some insanely bad conditions for soloing without a rope. The snow was so soft in places I literally held my breath for you. To be honest, I think you're nutso.

i love the footage. i like the climber. i'm grateful to see it. And i'm an ass for saying this. But the sounds of the mountain, the tools digging into the ice, and the sound of the climbers is even to a fault SUFFICIENT to my full enjoyment. WHY OH LORD WHY do i have to compete with the jarring soundtrack garbage to hear the sounds of nature and the climb. DOES EVERYTHING have to be a gd production?? The same goes for every sport, Go Pro surfing, skating snowboarding thing just everything in life has to sound like the Discovery Channel---muted, along with just about everything else forever on my TV and YT viewing. In closing, NO i never got to enjoy the sounds of you and your climing tools doing their thing.

Strength and perseverance young Titan! And please remember, there will always be another day, another summit if the voice within -- the quiet, clear one you know so well -- is allowed to serve as your guide. Do not over-think. In Sanskrit it is said: Tat Tvam Asi -- "You Are That". Trust. And climb a lifetime!

SYNAPSE ON ah i always thought boiling is boiling no mater what the temperature point is, boiling point on Everest is 69C so a egg would cook faster there then here on sea level.
