hands down the best, watching from the start and seeing where this truck has come from to what it is now, all built in the shed with no bullshit, no waffle, and well explained straight shooting makes this a pleasure to watch this channel. Onya Timmy, here's so 50k in the coming months. Congrats mate.
Appreciate you being here from the start mate thank you that’s awesome 🙏🏻🙏🏻 love comments like this it’s exactly what I’m shooting towards thank you 👊🏻👊🏻
Classy effort Tim and Drew. As others have said no bullshit, no over blown crap, clear thinking solving big problems. That winch is an absolute beast and everyone should have a Drew riding shotgun on these trips.
Thanks so much mate, love these kinds of comments and it’s exactly what I’m going for! I do feel bad not having the time, fuel or skill to “properly” clear some of these big trees but some of them are a full days work on their own let alone when we’re alone in the bush and don’t know what’s ahead and it’s taking 13hrs as is, might need to do a bit of training and head in summer time to clear some properly or something. Appreciate you mate cheers!
I LOVE how you reply to all the comments on this vid. Shows how you make the time to respond to the people who follow you. Thank F**K for your co conspirator on this trip. He did an amazing job on the winch, chainsaw and camera. The Thousand Dollar track didn't cost you a Dollar, otherwise I think you have mentioned it. But you have one of the most capable rigs around.Cheers.
Technically it cost me plenty of dollars leading up to it because I prepared really well haha. I bought an air free spool 3 days before we left which was about $1000 😅😅 I dunno if it counts but my bank thinks it does!! Yeah mate drew is king to have in the bush, very capable and willing. I am still very very happy to reply to everyone it’s getting harder but still doable, to be honest it makes it a lot easier and nicer being that everyone is so respectful and kind so far. So yeah appreciate you man thanks for the kind words. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Yeah mate the lockers were unreal, I’ve missed the airlockers for sure. And yeah wouldn’t go in there in winter without a petrol chainsaw not a chance, in fact next time I think we might take 2 petrol saws and a longer bar 🙏🏻 cheers for the comment mate.
Haha tbh I wish I had driven everything a bit harder but that’s always the way when you watch something back you realise you could have given it a little bit more and made it maybe. But that winch just makes it so easy to whip it out and pull up something. 🔥🔥 cheers for watching mate 👊🏻👊🏻
@@superhacker101 oaf 😅 the brake was playing funny buggers early in the track, wasn’t biting right up under huge load but they’ve seen a heck of a lot of mud I guess
First saw you on Tyler's content. When your video came up as recommended because of my subscriptions I gave it a go. Glad I did. Love the content, no over the top rubbish and a very genuine feel to it. Another like and subscribe for you. Keep it up and all the best.
Not at all mate, it is as it is as you see it, just a mint day in the bush going winching and woodcutting for 13hrs 😂😂 thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words 🙏🏻
You may have tried to fang it through many areas but the video shows great examples of winching instead of "lets keep effing the track up" . Awesome and thank you. Maybe remember for youtube to place a blanket over the rope :)
Thanks heaps for the comment mate appreciate it 🙏🏻🙏🏻 To be honest I don’t really believe in them so I won’t use them, I don’t even really believe in using tree trunk protection in a place like that I only did it because I was filming so be stoked you got that 😅 I haven’t seen dyneema flick and carry on like a snatch strap might, and we’re using soft everything, but I do appreciate the comment and the care for our safety so cheers dude 👊🏻👊🏻
Wow just EPIC! Bloody amazing to do that in one and a little bit days with all the cutting plus filming. Took us 2 days in April did have to do a bit of track building after one of those gully crossings collapsed near the dodgey log you did your door on. Thanks for the awesome video you & Kistler keeping it real awesome cars and driving with no over drama stuff👍👍
Thanks so much mate!! Yeah tbh the timeline is a bit confusing haha but it was 13 hours total. So we drove in just to the grass area on Friday night which took a bit of clearing to get to. Then the actual track we started at 8:30am, got to the hut 9:30pm. My last few trips through took about 5-6hours but yeah this time there was just sooooo many trees down. 👊🏻
Mate the ute ate it up! that 24v winch is unreal, probably saved you an hour if not more! what a game changer. I want one haha Awesome ep those Tassie tracks are something else.
Awesome watch! Probably the wildest stuff being driven, next to Kistler’s. Would have been good to see Drew’s GU. Top effort to the Big Fella on the winch!
It’s pretty much the best place we have here in Tassie, thanks heaps for watching dude! but yeah those fellas in Vic are on another level haha, but I’ll head up there for a wheel in his backyard soon! 🙏🏻 the GU in my videos is actually mine, Drew is a cruiser man 🫡
Oh yeah, definitely more fun going that way! And the pay off at the end lighting the big fire and drying out is the best feeling, good job guys, 👏 is drew marks boy?
I dunno about more fun but it’s definitely more interesting haha, but yeah the payoff of making it into the hut is absolutely awesome! 👊🏻 cheers mate 🙏🏻
This is awesome , love the footage of that track, the log steps were unreal haha, the camp in the hut at the end what a treat 👌🏼 big ups from sth gippy Vic 👍🏼
congrats on the 10k Tim. the 24v winch speed n power is awesome mate. wat a top mate Drew is, damn. i am not a rock/mud guy but it will work really nice for my outback touring i luv doing in my chopped 2022 F150. yes i chopped the 150 rear doors in half n put in gullwing doors. inside there is a custom 300L water tank(500L all up)n Lithium 12v system, all this gives me a bigger canopy. doesnt matter if ur a rock/mud or touring dude its all bout the adventure n with mates. cool channel mate.
Thanks heaps mate appreciate you following along! Yeah the 24v is a game changer no doubt about it! And that’s exactly right mate everyone has their niche in this lifestyle, we all have our flavours of choice haha, tbh I don’t love the bog holes it’s the slipper hills and old forest huts I love. Unfortunately on this track you gotta hit the bog holes in order to enjoy the rest haha, but that’s where you get a fast winch to get out of the mud as quick as possible! Oh nice jeez that would have been a slog chopping a F150 haha nice work
Yeah the bog holes are okay they don’t stop you haha, they’re just a send and a winch, but the trees on the other hand, they’re scary when you’re 20km in and it’s 4pm and it’s getting darker and you dunno what’s ahead. Would be heaps sketchy camping on the track too with the big ones that fall in there, wake up with a tree through the cab, or you don’t wake up and there’s a tree through your swag 😅
Gday Timmy, congratulations on 10k subs, top effort from Drew to, having mates like that make a world of difference, certainly a challenge but you’s nailed it, this episode was shit hot mate, cheers
Thanks heaps mate! Hopefully we keep growing! Oh yeah dude going in there alone wouldn’t go in without him he’s unreal. Someone you can depend on for sure. Thanks heaps mate appreciate it 👊🏻👊🏻
Great filming. And damn. How great is that air free spool. Good to see it working in action. And the air lockers are working well. And I’m only 10 minutes into the vid. Keep up the great work. Keen to buy some merch off you
Yeah mate very happy with all the new gear it worked a treat! Haha that’s awesome mate 🙏🏻 as for merch I dunno if it’s for me haha but keep watching and enjoying is heaps enough if you want to support thank you 👊🏻
Yeah it’s pretty unreal, my first time using it properly since 24, I think there might be room to squeeze some more speed out of it with some gears so seriously considering that. 😅 and thank you very much!
Awesome Ep Tim. You and Drew made that track look relatively easy lol. Love the speed of the winch, and I think I'll be looking at the air freespool on mine sometime soon.
I dunno about east hahaha, usually it takes 5-6hrs!! Mainly just trees down that were the killer but can never complain about making it to the hut! 👊🏻👊🏻
Well I was hanging for this one and it didn’t disappoint, I actually watched it last weekend but forgot to comment, keep them coming Timmy and we’ll keep watching them
Awesome as usual mate. I really dunno how u mob do all this in that cold. 17 up here is freezin. I’ll take a constant 30 degrees any day. Love that Ute 🍻🎯👍
Haha damn that would be too hot for me, I reckon it was single digits during this whole trip 😅 and thanks heaps mate I dunno about another 0 but would certainly love to keep growing!! Cheers mate. 👊🏻👊🏻
Great content, loving your work, it is inspiring for fellow 4w drivers to have the confidence to try some of the trickier tracks. Heaps of fun in the muddy conditions, keep up the good work 😊
Thanks heaps mate! It’s pretty loose being in there in one car but I am always confident going in there with someone like drew. Just get out there! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks heaps mate, if you do enjoy a bit of this kind of wheeling definitely check out Kill Ken & Dan Kistler on RU-vid, those boys do some mint stuff as well I look up to those guys 👍🏻
@@DanielKistlermight just be cause they’re 12 months old or maybe just being wetter but the razrs just seemed like slicks this trip through was like driving on ice haha, but yeah more wheel speed and some bop maybe 😂
Yeah there is always a lot of trees down but this time was just loose must have had a big storm through.. I think would be good to go in in summer and clear some of them properly, there is so many bypasses and half cleared trees.. which I get cause like some could take 3-4 hours to clear, can’t do them all alone in one go you’d never make it to the hut and it’s too dangerous to camp along the track, they fall left right and centre, end up with a tree over your swag in the night.
What a mission!! The S.E.S. would still be out looking for me if I tried that track. I loved last years' mission when the Patrol was a wagon. This year didn't disappoint either. The real hero is Mr Drew and his mate Mr Stihl. I bet he was pretty buggered at the end. Have you ever considered a really aggressive/extreme mud tyre just for winter missions? As good as your tyres are, it looked like they were getting overwhelmed with poo in a lot of sections...?
Haha I don’t know if the SES would get in there 😅 maybe by chopper! At some points you’re up to 30km deep in the Tassie rainforest with over metre deep holes and rivers and winch walls haha. I wish the camera showed what was really going on in there! And yeah you’re bang on dude, he’s definitely the best Navi to have in there, happy to run line, happy to swing the saw and he’s been going in there since he was a grommet. As for the tyres yeah for sure, in winter radials just let you down 100%. Might be time to get another set of beadlocks and some treps 😅 but I mean at what point do you just go overboard like.. the $1000 is the only place that properly puts that car on its ass down here nowadays, I crave a solid day on the winch getting humbled by the bush haha. So it’s nice to struggle.
"That... is a tree!" Believe most channels we watch would have called it a "show stopper" and turned around, well done! Been waiting for this, we were in Strahan the same weekend, foggy grey wet soggy weekend there was no way of escaping it, was typical gross west coast weather!
It’s funny you say that because I’m sure I used the words show stopper a few times haha. And probably considered it for the thumbnail!! It’s a shape the camera kinda makes everything look small because it really was huge and a pretty hectic winch 🤣 oh nice!! I want to get down to Strahan again, haven’t been for years.
@timmyhasheart Strahan is great this time of year in the off season we had a great time! From a hobby photographers perspective I could see the size and especially the steep parts but it's awesome you showed some flashbacks of some of the same spots in previous footage, we have come in from the hwy to the last part of the track to the river but there is no way my poor prado would make it even accross there to the hut, was tempted to do a little doggy paddle, have some lunch and come back 🤣🤣🤣 we keep trying to razz our mates up to do a budget build thousand dollar track extravaganza but not too many keen on the idea 🙄 we should have kept the disastrous disco and sent it 🤣🤣🤣
Haha it’s not the twin dog, just the cobra 2 which is faster than the warn by a bit but if it’s not fast to my liking I’ll chuck it on the GU and stick some gears through the warn 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Mate you got one of the nicest GQ's around aye. Performs awesomely and doesn't coal the track to the point where you can't see a thing from behind. Not saying that isn't cool though haha
@@timmyhasheart hahaha im sure it will mate, you and ya mates will always keep it going.. Haven't been down to tassie in years now and 4wd was even longer ago. Definitely a great place to be.
Awesome drive, any idea how often people drive it as you had to clear alot of trees in this vid, you like the maintenance man for keeping it clear with all the work you n Drew put in. Is reverse that much tougher or was it due to doing in the rain and all the water being up? The winch worked awesome, very impressive 👍👍
Didn’t get to do much driving I pretty much winched from the road to the hut 😅😅 Yeah man soooo many trees, to be honest I think it maybe only sees 1 group a month? At best? And I don’t reckon many do it in the guts of winter so we probably cleared most of winter’s tree falls. Didn’t see any fresh tracks until the other side of the hut. And yeah I think it’s probably harder going in that direction, but also very very wet, definitely a bit wetter than my first video on this channel. 🤙🏻 Yeah man the winch was unreal 🔥🔥🔥
Great timeing with the upload of this video. Just finnished the youtube marathon on your channel and wanted to see more! And congtaz on 10k subs! I purchased a Patrol this summer that has been sitting for some years. replaced the engine (RD28) and got it road legal again. There is alot of stuff I still need to do with it, and alot of mods I want to do. Not realy sure what mods makes the most sense to do first for me. The stuff that you have done to your car is realy impressive and inspiriring.
Haha nice that rules! Thanks mate appreciate it. Well as a fellow GQ enthusiast I appreciate you saving one from decommission and getting it going again, yeah tbh the best thing you can do in my opinion is use it and learn what you need as you go.. I know it seems cliche but there’s so much bullshit you don’t need 👍🏻
Good one Timmy, hope you gave your mate about 10 cartoons for all his work on the winch and the chain saw and his awesome work with the broom at the hut. :)
Tradition mate! We always look after the place, first thing I do no matter who is there is sweep the place out, we also removed a fuck load of half burnt cans and rubbish out of the fire. But yeah he’s an amazing fella to have with you, always working on the winch and the saw, good spotter, good brain for the bush all round. Cheers mate 🤙🏻🤙🏻
