Every once in a while, an individual shows up on RU-vid that is a natural when it comes to filming the essence of why people love trains and this video is proof of that. One of the best videos on RU-vid about a section of CSX that I just love. Great job.

It is beautiful. I grew up around Fairhope and spent a lot of time there. My grandparents lived right beside the crossing in the video.

So fortunately I'm headed out this way in less than 48 hours, and with that, I've been trying to make time to watch some video content from the area/as much as possible to prepare and get myself ready for the weekend ahead. Then I remembered "wait a minute, didn't Dan have a big compilation piece from out here that I never got around to watching?" Well, needless to say, I'm watching now, and it was enjoyable as hell dude, a perfect video to sit back and have a beer or two with. I really liked that opening shot of the Q314 at Virgina Ave/Lane, I know this was shot in April but I'm really hoping that the Q314 Grafton-Cumberland job is still active out there, seeing as some time is specifically being put aside to tackle the Mountain Sub this weekend (which by the way, is well worth checking out the next time you're out this way. You may not get very many, but the experience is second to none when you do), and with as light traffic-wise as that route has unfortunately become, having a possible second eastbound manifest would be more than welcomed. Anyway, moving on, seeing all of those eastbounds throttled up on the descent at Fairhope and Foley was definitely interesting, couldn't quite figure that out seeing as the downhill grade in both of those locations is more than noteworthy, I've never seen that practiced out there before. I really liked the stuff from Corriganville as well, I've only really passed through that town since both of my stints out there on the Patch were short-lived and so far haven't had the time to really go exploring the area, especially the territory below Hyndman. I never realized how awesome that backdrop is there beyond BF181, between the sweeping curve and the towering hillside behind it, is definitely worth waiting out a westbound for one of these days. Glad to see that you took some time out of the day to make sure that Mexico was checked off. I can't lie, the B&O CPL's are cool as shit, too bad those and the next set up at West Hump are the only two left in that general area. I'm planning on setting aside some time to do them this weekend as well, especially if the rumors are true that they'll be gone sometime this February. Last time I was out I didn't get a wheel to turn by em lol. Anyway, I've ranted long enough about this one, I guess that's what happens when I watch a full hour of quality stuff all at once lol. Good stuff dude, keep it going.

+AliceInChains243 Hey bro! Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate it, I'm glad you enjoyed! It was a great time down there, I can't wait to go back. I'd definitely love to spend some time on the Mountain Sub, that would be sick. Yeah I was wondering that, I guess they were just under powered, big trains that day. I'd definitely recommend the Corriganville shot, its worth it, that backdrop is awesome. Mexico was somewhere I made sure I'd get to on that trip, I love those signals, thanks again brother! I appreciate the kind words as always!

At 10:39 are you sure the train originated in Grafton? Wouldn't it be coming over the Mountain Sub instead of the Keystone? Nice photo angles throughout, by the way.
