I'd give my right testicle to see these two guys in the same team again. Ron Dennis really had a one in a million driver combination there. I just wished they could've gotten along in Mclaren.
good point I never realized that, as recently Alonso, and Hamilton said they have no problem with each other, all that "drama" was caused by others, cheers
I think saying one is better than the other is just fanboy talk, I will say however that Alonso or Hamilton definitely should have won the 2007 championship. Raikonnen winning was an almightly fuckup by Mclaren
True, but I also think the mistake by Hamilton in China when he went into the gravel is what ultimately cost him the championship. Without that, he would have won it regardless.
It was a massive mistake by the team to not call him in for tyres. I remember shouting at the TV to bring him in. By the time they did his tyres were absolutely knackered. That’s where he lost the championship. That season reminded me of the season Piquet and Mansell slogged it out as team mates in the Williams (was it 86?), and then were pipped to the title by Prost in the McLaren. I had put £10 on Piquet to win the title at the start of the year at 7 to 1, so with Mansell’s tyre blowing, and then Piquet being called in for a precautionary tyre change I was doubly gutted!
@@willandboy As brilliant as Hamilton was up to the race (China) in his rookie season, what I blame the team for, with all their experience, was not to instruct Hamilton to check his speed at and before the left turn in the pit lane knowing and seeing the handling of the car on track and that he had little or no rubber for traction Even with a cautious approach at the risk of loosing a position on track, the points gained would have sealed the championship than to score 0 points and loose the WDC by a single point
@@TonyVBlue5 you seem to have started watching f1 in the 2010's. When Hamilton arrived F1, Kimi had already passed his prime despite winning the title in 2007
I would love to see them battle it out again. You know.. if red bull hadn't become so successful we would have seen Alonso vs Hamilton for probably another 4 years which would have been amazing. But hey..
Well that's only because of all the regulation changes at the end of 2008. Aerodynamism stuff chassis ect.. If that never happened Brawn GP and Redbull would of never been on top. Hamilton would prolly be 7x times world champion or more.
@@smokinghell4406 you are definitely smoking hell lol. On 2010-2013 timeframe hamilton what a ghost, even Button beat him on 2011. Without the best car he is a unreliable pilot.
@@kas_3126 You cant ignore the proof, without the best car he isnt special anymore. Senna even with trash cars made miracles, Hamilton is a spoiled person, never had bad cars in all his career.
Alonso thought Hamilton would be Fisichella 2.0... Which he demanded soon he arrived at ferrari. When he has a strong teammate again, like hamilton was, and he´s able to beat him fair and square, without the political games, then he will be a great champion, until then he´s one big crying baby.
Thanks Ron Dennis for depriving us race fans of titanic battle... Hungary is the race where Alonso was robbed of his 3rd world title. Starting from pole position like he qualified, he certainly will have won the race and will have beaten Hamilton by 7 points and Kimi by 6. This result will very likely have had an effect in the 2008 world championship and with Alonso staying at McLaren for the full term of his contract.
+roshan I watch this sport since 2004, just when Alonso started to win. He was good only in terms of race pace, but absolutely useless in terms of qualyfing. He shouldn't have any world driver championship if it wasn't because of McLaren's and Ferrari's unreliability in both 2005 and 2006 championships. I'll also never forgive him what he did to Ferrari, firing Aldo Costa and all the engineers who designed 1997-2011 amazing cars, just because they failed on the 2011 championship. Ferrari was all for him and he destroyed it just because of his fucking pride. Now all Mercedes engineers are the ones who were on Ferrari on the 2000s and they are unbeatable.
Santiago Abascal Absolutely wrong. If u think he destroyed Ferrai then u should ans me why top teams were after him at the end of 2014 when he decided to move out of red donkeys. A person like Ron is not stupid to invest so much on age-ing Alonso. Moreover read what redbull's Horner said back in 2014, "we would love to see a driver like Alonso in our side but redbull favours youngsters not old". Even merc was interested in him b4 they decided to continue with Lewis. yes he is not a great qualifying driver because he is old now. just see hw quick he was in 2005 & 2006 when he was in early 20s. Give him a competitive car and i bet no driver of current era would be able to chase him down forget overtaking( on sundays). Finally, its ferrari whih destroyed Alonso and now they are doing same to vettel. if vettel spends another 3 years with red donkeys he would also reach same fate as Alonso. red donkeys sucks
Alonso is the better driver, but he's much more disgusting. Sure Hamilton could play games and try to slow down his team mate, but Alonso is down right dirty. His bad "luck" also is because he wasn't grateful. Whether it was at Mclaren, or at Ferrari.
I still wonder why Kovalainen had been chosed by McLaren then ? Maybe they didn't want any other rivalry problems ? Or well they trusted Kov to be quick... Well he wasn't
Alonso actually ran away from Hamilton after 2007 despite having a 3 year contract. Complete pussy move by Alonso. What an absolute chicken shit. He ran away and Hamilton became McLaren world champion. Doesn't get any worse than that for Alonso. Hamilton literally stole Alonso's car and became world champion in it.
It's quite strange that Hamilton has so big conflicts in the team like this one with Alonso or Rosberg, and these guys didn't have conflict with any other teammate except Hamilton....
Yes I agree!..Although I don't think Nico is as fast as Hamilton but Alonso is and if you go back and watch every race Alonso in Most cases has always got the better of Hamilton...And I'm not talking in this V6 turbo era which has been a joke up to this point, 2017 you will finally see a more level playing field with the changes to the cars!
Lewis spanked Fernando then a double world championship as an American phrase” Rookie “ now look 6 titles later history is proved right Lewis is and always was better than Fernando
Well, you don't know F1. I can conclude this based on your disagreement. I am huge McLaren Fan and i loved Hami and consider him to be a great driver. But the most talented driver award on the grid certainly goes to Alonso. He is super talented, can drive in any conditions and is really quick. He's just been unlucky because our car sucks right now. He came all the way from driving a Minardi and was consistently the best of the two drivers in every team he s been. He never had the support like how Hami did with McLaren. Basically we nurtured Hami and gave him a seat. Alonso is indeed the most talented driver ever in my book or maybe a notch below Hakkinen :).
Mansoor Cfc "He never had the support like how Ham did with McLaren ", you know how Alonso came to Minardi in the first place? He was a paydriver and was supported by Renaultand even got the better material and Briatore supported him a lot, hell Briatore was always salty when Trulli defeated Alonso espacially after Monaco 2004. And its Alonso's fault why he didnt win any championsships. He was involved in spygate, blackmailed Ron Dennis and couldn't accept that a rookie could keep up with him. He declined an offer from Red Bull and stayed for another year in Renault although Red Bull had already Newey and it was clear that in 2009, the aerodynamic was important. He also left Ferrari for McLaren with a engine supplier with less preparation time than the other 3 although there are rumours that Mattiachi basically forced him out, so he could sign Vettel. And what about Hamilton? The guy is as talented as Alonso maybe even more, the guy is incredible quick and can break really late, the guy is extremly fast in rainy conditions and he is great in wheel- to-wheel battle. Although you couldnt see so much due to the dominace of Mercedes and the dirty-air problem
Raw speed I think Hamilton has a slight edge over Alonso, composure under pressure, consistency, less prone to mistakes, maturity, fighting for the best position for the team year in year out goes to Alonso easily. Overall Alonso the better driver over a season. But in a perfect world equal machines, perfect conditions, perfect setup I think Hamilton will win in the race. But it aint a perfect world.
I dont agree . Hamilton didnt beat alonso they both ended up with equal points. I respect Hamilton a lot but you ´ve got to be dreaming to compare him to the genius Alonso. Alonso was treated like an enemy in Mc Laren and not like a two time world champ . If you think Alonso was fairly treated in a british team protecting their dream boy, and with ron dennis who hated alonso then you gotta be dreaming. Alonso in 2012 showed that he´s the best driver of the last 20 years hands down .. Alonso with a third or sixth engine is able to be runner up... How many times has hamilton been runner up with the sixt or seventh car on the grid ?
to be exact a ROOKIE Hamilton has beaten a 2 time WC Alonso with the same car. ouch. that gotta hurt... I am not taking antyhing away from both of them however. They are both fantastic drivers on top of their game, the best of their generation, each one with different driving capabilities and different style.
Go back and look at all of the races they have been in, Hamilton has an edge in qualifying but in a race and especially the starts Alonso has the upper hand!
Unforgettable 2007 and 2008...do you remember what happened in Brazil when Hamilton have won the title? Even vettel didn't went to box to change the tyres ...to avoid the triumph of Hamilton... And it was rain
Alonso king. hmm didnt use the ferrari infomation bullshit. i seem to remember they copied the ferrari brake system. as for hamilton your not better than alonso but you are better than vettel.
Since 2010 Alonso has been plain magic. I´m a Hamilton fan but to say Hamilton is more complete then Alonso is a fucking joke. Don´t let hate get in the way of what he does on track. Kimi and Hamilton are probably the fastest, especially if you listen to Rob Wilson.
@@TheTororist That comment means you don't have a clue what the hell your talking about...Another social media CLOWN!..All of these RECORDS have come since 2014....F1 has been a JOKE since 2014!
@@jonathinrice914 Alonso had the chance to gain tremendous success by the end of 2008 where he could have been a 4xWDC with 2 different teams, Renault and McLaren, from 2005-2008 but Hamilton walked into Alonso's life and completely altered his career trajectory by beating him in the same car, making him run away from 3 year contract and then becoming the McLaren world champion that Alonso failed to be. Had Alonso been a better driver than he actually is then he wouldn't have lost to his rookie teammate, wouldn't have tried to blackmail Ron Dennis into sabotaging Hamilton's career, with his own involvement in illegally sharing Ferrari intellectual property, and, he'd have given himself the opportunity to drive for Mercedes in the hybrid era instead of ruining those ties with his extremely toxic nature. Toto Wolff has even confirmed as much by saying that: "Alonso cost Mercedes a huge sum of money and ruined a lot of relationships with his actions in 2007 which had an influence on our thinking" Hamilton is the one who drove Alonso to such desperate actions when they were teammates. He literally destroyed Alonso's career.
If Alonso was way better he would never have lost to him when Hamilton was a rookie. Alonso fans are so dumb. Hamilton was A ROOKIE! An inexperienced nobody with zero experience racing in formula 1 yet he came into the sport and led the championship standing for most of the season. Hamilton was better than Alonso in 2007 and he's better now.
Rosberg is nothing compare to Lewis. Only guys like Fernando or a young kimi can. Rosberg needs to cheat to compete with the brilliant driver that lewis is.
The front wind is the answer for your question. Lewis always has problems and rosberg one only problem. Man only facts no more. When Lewis can he win and when he cant he does impossible thing like start last and give us a historic carreer or start from the pitlane and finish front of rosberg.
I dont think so! Vettel did everything with the best car and with a car not too good is not to good and Ricciardo proves that. Lewis always did a great job with the cars he had and give us some of the best moments in F1. Vettel for me is overrated and if his partner in redbull last 4 years was fernando, lewis or kimi he never won man! I really think Rosberg is good driver but not a legend. He has not in the level of the greatest in style of condution, regularity, driving fast and amazing moments. He is only a good driver with the best car like Button was in Brawn!
Hamilton was the first to break red bull domination man with a car worse than red bull clearly. Vettel cant do the same now and his partner ricciardo yeah. Vettel carrerrs are always alone in the 1 place!! Ricciardo won 3 this year and never from the top 3!! Lewis Hamilton as a rookie fight against kimi raikonnen and fernando alonso face to face!! For me Lewis is the fastest, the most amazing and the showman in F1 cause his awesome style of driving. For me Vettel is only the 5 better driver after Lewis, Kimi, Fernando and Ricciardo. Dont tell me wrong he is good and he proves thar in toro rosso but not that talent I really enjoy watched!! with a car incredible he has many difficults to win against webber and fernando alonso along the years!! Rosberg is not bad but he cheats a lot and is not a master. Everybody boos him at monza and if lewis has the same problems than him certainly he will be 1 in championship right now.
Hamilton and Alonso imo the two best drivers of this generation... what a shame it seems the McLaren Honda is such a dog it could be years before its competitive enough for them too be fighting the Mercedes I'd love to see a part 2 Hamilton vs Alonso for the title but it increasingly looks like that wont happen.... Hamilton for the 2015 Title!!!
The chose Hamilton and missed out on a generational talent in Alonso rather be one on a shit team then taking backseat to someone who he know he is better than.
pezzyy99 I dont think that McLarem had the best car. Do you really think that Kimi and Massa would have a chance in inferior or equal strong cars against Hamilton and Alonso. I think the F2007 was the better car.
Coming into mclaren as double world champion, Alonso just couldn't stand it that an unknown english black rookie was on par with him, perhaps better. Heck, he even requested mclaren give him preference over hamilton. A true world champion does not do that. Besides, Hamilton's world championship seasons were more exciting. If senna were alive, he would say that hamilton is just like him, raw and fast.
This is the ultimate dream team but due to them both being young (25/22) & very poor management from Mclaren it didn't work & look at the mess they are in now. If it worked they would still be teammates today & would have won multiple more titles each. Mclaren messed up big time
Mihály Zoltán Tóth i am afraid you are wrong. Michael Schumacher was better than alonso despite alonso winning his 2nd world title. Even vettel is better than alonso.
Varskar There you go keep dragging out the *7 year old mistake that happened once.* The funniest part about that is that Nico had even more time to react and he still hit Lewis. Keep believing that the current world champion isn't as good as alonso...
Varskar uhm, thats my point exactly, you goof. Nobody mentions that part. He had even more time to react and he still hit Lewis. What don't you comprehend?
Alonso resorted to dirty tricks and threatening his own team to get preferential treatment in the team when said team was giving both drivers equal machinery and equal opportunity. That's an irrefutable fact. Would a driver who is "better" resort to such behavior? I don't think so. The sad part is it was against a rookie. Pathetic
Yeah thats why Alonso run back to Renault an daddy Briatore with his tail bethween his legs after his first real team-mate right ? Ohh...did i mencion Lewis was just a rookie back then ??
to think this was 7 years ago. Alonso is 33, a year younger than Jensen Button and 2 years younger than Kimi Raikkonen. I think we're going to see very little of Jensen and Kimi, and Fernando's time is running out for him to stay in the competition, especially seeing as he's failed to get a seat in the top 3 teams. Even Ferrari are currently ahead of McLaren in the constructor's, and McLaren are ditching the superior Mercedes unit for the Honda that's a year behind and unproven. Im not saying anything against Alonso, but if he's the best driver on the grid, why don't any of the top teams want him? makes you think
Delusional Muppet Hamilton, as a rookie, beat Alonso, in the same car, made Alonso run away from that car, and away from a lucrative 3 year contract, like the coward that he is, before becoming the 2008 world champion in the car that Alonso ran away from and Alonso never ever won a title at any point while Hamilton has been in F1. Does it get any worse than that? No. Hamilton completely destroyed Alonso's career. Oh and as for preferential treatment, Alonso had preferential treatment over Hamilton in the first 5 races and then had a complete meltdown and resorted to blackmail because Hamilton was given equal status from Canada onwards. Hamilton completely exposed Alonso as a driver who can not handle the pressure of a competitive teammate in a competitive car. No titles since 2006, 14 years ago. Lol.
If I owned an F1 team I would much rather have Hamilton on the team than Alonso. Even if you concede that they are Equals as Drivers, history has proven that Hamilton has much better character and integrity and thus makes the better choice of the two.
+Maddox Bromley hami a better character? lol give that crap honda to hami and ul come to know how he reacts on the circuit. lol alonso any day far better than hami
Alonso actually ran away from Hamilton after 2007 despite having a 3 year contract. Complete pussy move by Alonso. What an absolute chicken shit. He ran away and Hamilton became McLaren world champion.
