I went from Areata to universalis, probably due to high cortisol levels. During a snoring test it was found I had apnea. Went I started cold water swimming hair on my body grew back, also some beard hairs. My skull is still bald and no eyebrows and lashes. But who knows.

Had this and went to the doctor and no one could tell me why I had this on my head. It’s felt so soft and bald. But it’s grow back. But I still have thin hair 😢
I lost about 50 to 60 percent of my hair to alopecia areata…I took a steroids and steroid shots and my hair is almost completely back. However, my tight coils/zigzag texture is now straight and fine. Will my original texture come back?
I got mild AA in my beard and mustache area for close to 25 years, seems not growing and nothing on my head far as I know. Can you do hair transplant on the head in the crown area that is not impacted by AA? Or is there a risk of hair transplant creating a shock to the system and triggering the immune system to attack more? Thanks Doc, excellent work.
I'd like to suggest you look into a nutritional cure. Immune system issues are often caused by nutritional deficiency. Look up all the vitamins and minerals the body needs and check your diet to make sure you are getting them all. Or get a blood test to look for defenciency
I only have gotten one patch behind me ear it’s about a coin size . There’s no sign of another patch coming in I check every day . But I’ve had it for almost a year now and it seems to just grow little by little ?
Same here mate.. mine got a patch below the neck area. Its kinda oval shaped one and its been 1.5 year or so. No sign of anything. Planning to apply minoxidil soon .
I have a question for the Doctor. i lose my hair on my crown. almost gone now. but each time i go to the south spend my winter time there. Like in Florida or place like that. My hair growth back again and thicker. In fact they growth enough to hide my back and my crown with enough hairs to not see my skin. each time i go there its like 2 months or 3 months. I like to know why? and is there a treatment for that? Because I have Psyorasis skin dry on two places on the back of my arms. that has been like that for 15 years or so. that is why I was wondering if it is immune system or what else that can be my hair loss?
Stress is the only thing that has scientifically been proven to be correlated with Alopecia Areata/Universalis. I have Alopecia Universalis. My hair grows back when my work life balance improves and when I do not worry about money anymore. But I lose the hair when I lose money in the stock market or am not doing well with all things money related. I think my failures with women might be causing a similar degree of stress. My immune response has been correlated with these two things as well being of my siblings and parents. All are great sources of stress.
What are your thoughts on using beard hair as donor hair for the scalp? Do you do so in your clinical practice? Also, you guys talk a lot about having FUT first and then FUE if needed. What are your thoughts on doing an FUE first and then FUT?
About 7 months into my Areata, Smallish patch. Got larger, strangely it has regrown about 70% of the patch but it has slowly moved as one patch further and further up my head whilst the previous areas are regrowing. Can't find any research on it.
Hey I just got diagnosed with it and have two little patches on the back of my head. Has it been good for you or worse. Because I’m scheduled to get a shot to regrow it
