Reminds me of the days of DaoC. Soloing was not viable and a significant amount of time was spent fonding hunting parties if you arent already playing with friends. Finding hubting parties was a great way to make friends though.
actually makes me want to try solo in this more, because i know it wont be afk faceroll on keyboard PvE difficulty that every other mmo designs around for that mainstream $$$. finally mmo pve content that's designed for (if inadvertently) experienced gaming hobbyists, that's not relegated to 3% of content - at endgame
i did a solo bard during the testing and had a blast but i was using a sword and shield with the bard but i didnt get to any more than level 9 or 10 i can't remember. Yes it is a hard grind.
Great video, however Mages absolutely crank. They have some of the highest single target dmg and the highest AoE dmg. Being able to AC>DBL Shatter is massive, plus balancing your debuffs. Far ahead of the other classes when minmaxed
I was working out to make T2 plate armor will require the input of 10 apprentice level skills so crafting is no joke when it comes to input from others. Had first hand experience with your mage, you know when your group of 8 attacked me at the farm. JK your healers kept me alive. So glad the verbal NDA has dropped. Have actually been playing solo on purpose so the POI will be new to me when I get a few guild mates come this weekend, if the servers hold up that is.
@@empire5235 I mean the game is push as a group game wether that is guild or node groups, you shouldn’t expect to do everything yourself, let alone in the end you will only grandmaster in one of each group of artisan groups
@@Ragecon87 I am very well aware of that, it is putting the multiplayer back in MMO. Looking very much forward to getting into the test with my guild, well when some others finally get in. Was just pointing out the number of skills needed. Thought it was grand master in any 2 skills and 2 skills only, can be from the same tree or different trees.
I’ve been playing, it’s not a solo game, but I dont mind that. I’m also playing T&L I can count on one hand how many times I’ve died after weeks it’s not challenging at all. This game is challenging and it is not forgiving and I love it! Lineage 2 is my favourite game…
I have a key, I do not plan on using it in Phase 1, I’ll be honest, the current state of this Alpha seems too small on scale and too time consuming to be worth my time investment. Once Phase 2 comes out, or even Phase 3, I’ll consider joining in, till then, I’ll watch from afar through content creators and see what the main feedback seems to be.
You said you wanted all our questions, heres my quick list haha: Which nodes were the most popular in your playthrough? How good was the character customization? Is there anyway to save your character appearance templates? How many character slots did you have? Did you see a lot of GM's ingame interacting with players? Do you know the names of the realms? Did you ever have queue times, if so how long and do you expect them to be an issue in the 25th? Do we know when downloading will be available for the alpha? Do you know what time the alpha is live for those of us considering taking off work? Is seasons available yet? Is trading and caravans available yet? Do you know if housing is available yet? How was the lawless zones?
I can chime in here a little: On Resna, Joeva and Miraleth were the two best developed nodes. You can save your character template, but reloading them has been buggy. 5 character slots GM's were present in game a lot. Resna, Norlan, and Eradal were test realms. We queued a lot during the queue system testing, but otherwise thre was never a long wait. On the 25th, it'll really depend on server population. No idea on when the download will be available. In testing, it varied. But I can tell you, if it's ready early, they'll let us know. No idea of the time of day yet. Seasons were tested (LOVE fall!) and time of day works too. Caravans worked, but there are bugs. Housing was not available in the pre-A2 testing. Lawless zones are there, but empty mostly.
lol ill do this now 1. Winstead- has the most developed content around it 2. Not very good.. slightly more than A1.. CC really doesnt have much to it right now besides sculpting, and not even close to what we saw in the CC showcase. 3. 5 4. Yes they were pretty active. sometimes working, sometimes just playing for fun. 1 even nuked me with his GM powers for fun. Earlier tests a few months ago were all GM run 5. Resna, Norlan, Eredal are what we had 6. Most queues were only for testing purposes but i do believe there will be lots of waiting on 10/25 7. No info yet 8. Seasons are in, yes 9. Trading and caravans both in 10. no housing yet 11. Lawless Zones only became functional this test. While I visited them, I didnt see anyone to PvP... Desert looking nice tho
If the melee class is action combat and the casters are tab, casters are sure to dominate. For a pvp-heavy game this is not good. I hope they don't mess up on that department
Yea, I got tired of Narc being a weirdo in his videos. He began to creep me out. When I called him out on being "strange" in a bad way he silenced me LOL. Now I need to find new people to watch for my Ashes of Creation info.
@henrythegreatamerican8136 I never liked narc, but tolerated him. Then every video he put out started to look like he's campaigning against this game, so I'm searching for a different channel to follow for AoC. He's just kind of obnoxious, and proud of it apparently.
I have an older system atm. I did test what I could, which for me was windowed mode when I started it was fairly wonky. It s a lot less wonky now.The graphics are fabulous.
You touched on some of the classes and their ability to play solo, such as cleric being OP and bard being almost group exclusive, how about the others? I'm obviously asking since I'm planning to play Tank and want to know if I can actually do something or will I be a crappy fighter?
I mean.. Tank is the best tank you can find.. I havent played much as 1 as they are never my go to, but from what people have told me they really enjoy it and it seems to hold up well even solo
Making it hard to solo basic levels is an issue for me , a lot of the time I get when I have time , so loosing that aspect of being able to just grind out some levels on my own is disappointing
personally i'd rather see mages be weak at low level. that's the way they should be, weak and frail at the beginning, very powerful later on. mages should need assistance to grow, but the groups investment in the mage pays off later. and mages utility shouldn't just be lobbing nukes, that should be the least interesting and important part of having a mage in your group.
The 25th cant come soon enough, ill be working though so hopefully ill at least be able to make a character before servers probably crash hard Im 100% playing a dunir bard
@RitchieSH omfg nooooo Idk how i didn't realize, i haven't been keeping up on news honestly because I didn't want to get hyped with no testing date. That sucks a bit, oh well I know it's testing anyway, it'll get there:)
@@T_Birmingham nov 8th if you bought access after a certain point 25th for previous testers and ppl who bought bundles earlier (i got mine in 2020/ 2021)
For a game that was announced about 8 years ago, I can't say I'm too impressed. Looks like it will still be another 2 years before it'll look somewhat polished.
@@buddybarlow9604no, 8 years to get to a extremely basic alpha is not normal, the game has serious development problems, just admit it and set yourself free from the cult
I played a level 15 ranger in earlier tests when they gave us a boost scroll, but it wasn’t a very long test. I still didn’t like it much at that point from the little time I had
Are there any classes that run faster than everyone else outside of combat, and can they bring that extra speed to anyone in the group? This is one of those things that made pvp oriented games like DAoC a miserable experience unless you were grouped with one of those speed classes. You'd always be run down by bigger groups with no way to win or escape. Hope this game learns from that and at least lets mounts have the fastest speed in the game outside of combat. While in combat I don't mind speed differences, but outside? Nope. Yea, sorry for the long rant, but need to know.... It will show whether or not this game understands fundamental pvp balance.
@@RitchieSH Yea, that might be the nail for anyone who likes to be with one or two friends. It means someone will have to play a bard whether or not they really want to or you will be killed non stop. Goes to show this game is not paying attention to past games. Can't wait to see how they handle stealth. Is it permanent invisibility? That's another nail in the coffin for most pvp games that makes them miserable experiences for anyone not playing a stealth class.
@@henrythegreatamerican8136bro, bard runspeed is standard Ib tabletop games and stealth is standard too, you want two unique things removed? Every class Will have its pros and cons
@@Erumyr In a pvp game it needs to be balanced properly, not completely removed. Nobody cares what is standard. When players can't find a bard for their own small group and are constantly chased down by a larger group with a bard, the last thing on their mind will be what a standard tabletop game offers. They'll most likely log into the game less and less until they quit. Nobody wants to play a pvp game where you can't escape large roaming groups. And the solution is simple. Give everyone access to mounts that all have the same speed when OUT OF COMBAT. As for stealth, there are ways to implement it without permanent invisibility.
I have to say, I've lost all enthusiasm I had for this game. After finding out all the showcases were essentially fake assets to see how bare bones and grindy this A2 will be, they're nowhere near the vision that Steven has been proclaiming on every single live stream. This game seems more like vaporware with each update. I guess this is what happens with a game studio founded by a guy that made his money in MLM schemes.
My first day won't happen till 2027 swing the game is fully released. Only suckers pay to be testers on a incomplete game. Lmao.. I like to enjoy myself and play full completed games ..
Guess I'm delusional then. I will have fun when phase 3 launches in May. I don't need the game to be perfect or the best ever to have fun. No other game I've ever played has been perfect either. I feel like I have realistic expectations. I'm excited anyways. 🤷♂️
@@jjswigger8591 I really want to know, are you actually fucking retarded? I am 29 years old and would never touch that piece of shit Throne and Liberty since I saw the gameplay months ago.
You're using the word "game", it aint a game yet. It's good that's it's buggy NOW and not when it actually releases. It'll give them time to fix those bugs so the product is better for launch
The dumbest thing game companies do nowadays is make content only playable with a group. The hardest thing to do in gaming today is find a group of stable people to play one single game with during a certain period of time. The majority of gamers are casual and hop on when they have time. Gone are the times when you schedule playing time with your group, hopefully they make a party find tool that's easy and intuitive.
@@lukeit7949 I'm just saying if you want more numbers and to bring players in you can't just cater to the neck beards who have nothing better to do than transpose their life into an MMO.
@@RitchieSH I'm just finding it difficult as a returning player to MMO's. Tried coming back to WoW after years, completely overwhelmed and confused, tried GW2 and that was a little easier to follow but after not getting into a guild after about a week I ultimately gave up.
