Thank you for the great review, JB! This new version has ended up being my personal unicorn bag. This is the exact form factor that I have been searching for.
Great review! 👍 Chunkier than I had imagined, but I guess it was pretty packed out in your video. I can't think of a decent use case for the velcro liner at the top/laptop compartment though.
I could see it being used to a water bladder hose from the main body of the bag and up and out the laptop compartment. Maybe clip the bladder to the internal webbing and secure it either in the tablet/document sleeve or with webbing to the internal loops, then peel open a small hole in the Velcro and feed the tube through there and out the laptop sleeve. Dunno how well that’d work, but might be possible.
That's actually a really good idea and a solid use of that velcro barrier. Makes this and outdoor bag for sure...the suspension is the only big problem. @@djberry7673
I'm very much on the fence with this one. The organization on my older model Evade 1.5 Full is almost perfect for me (for instance, the CCW compartment was great for wallets & other sensitive items you wanted to keep secure). The main tempting feature is the reduced weight, but I might just go with an updated Whitley instead. That said, I do like that I can take the admin pouch & beaver tail I already have for my existing bag & use it with this newer bag. Good video!
I’ve been wanting to get an evade but seems like they went backwards with this update. Sure the magnetic patch feature and coyote interior is really cool. But they removed a lot features, no bungie, bottom straps for jackets, blankets etc no molle interior. Just seems they went less features for a sleeker look
Love the video! Random question. Where is that patch booklet from?! I've been looking for a way to organize my patches and that looks absolutely fantastic.
I wouldn't say NO ONE needs it. I'd say they just changed to fit the way the edc community is moving. Used to be all tacticool, now it's much more streamlined and sleek. They both have their place, and personal preference is a massive thing. I LOVE my old evade 1.5 lite.
Apparently AON has no idea how to mount the compression straps as well. Wrestled with mine and then sent them a couple of emails, no response. Not sure why it is included if the company doesn't know how to attach. The front admin section is too tight for their type 1 an 2 organizers, used a Vanquest organizer instead. The loop panel here would work well with a CCW as it sits low and is partially obscured by the pocket flap.
