The fact that you aren’t the largest RU-vidr in this space is baffling. Your time in the sun is coming, and the effort you put into these videos is unmatched.
Being 68 years old, my eyes are not as good as years ago. I need more light. My '03 had aftermarket stock replacements when I bought it, horrible, scattered the light everywhere. I bought OEM Damiler lights new old stock and installed them, much better, but still lacking. Even my old '91 Ranger has better lights! The price difference between the Luxx and the Nova lights is so much that its hard for me to justify the Nova. And I want good light, but don't want to be blinding anyone either!!! Trying to juggle money being retired and planning travel trailer trips, I want good lights, etc. I did "brake down" and install a PacBrake system👍 Thanks for your good reviews, they really help.
These look awesome, i love how they look like some new OEM lights making your truck look like a new one. Also, they seem to have a really good cutoff which is great for oncoming traffic. Thank you for the review!
Can you do another review like this one but with the Alpha Rex Luxx Chrome lights, I want to see how the daytime running lights will look like when the headlight is chrome. Thank you!
Love your videos. Curious do you have any laws for headlight height where you’re from. Or rules for mud flaps or having to have fender flares if the offset of the tires sticks out past the body. I’m from Canada bc. My third gen has 37 with 6 inch lift the height is fine I believe I just need to get fender flares and mud flaps. You should do a video on laws in your area if there is any.
My 2004.5 has a burnt out lamp detection system. Will these work with that (not give errors or lamp out indication), and will it sense if I have a headlight out? Thanks for the great videos!
I just installed the luxx in my 06 5.9, curious if your lights cut out when switching from brights back to normal? Then if you switch three times the lights wont go back to normal until truck is turned off. Any info is appreciated! Love the truck man!
Mine did not do that, but these trucks are super picky. You might need to call Alpha Rex to see what they recommend. For example, I had to run an anti flicker box with the Morimotos in my test, but not with Alpha rex lights. My buddy’s truck didn’t need them and he has an 06 too. Gotta love Chrysler electronics!
I just bought the Luxx for my 3rd gen ram 2500. As Just Diesels said it is a good value for the money. It is not super bright. It is about on par as a newer gen ram. The highs are laughable. Stock headlamp high beams with led are maybe twice as bright. The lows are adequate. My 4th gen with Led's correctly orientated and aimed below the trunk of a car 25ft in front of me... are brighter. I have drove straight on with my wife driving the ram and there is no scatter or blinding factors...But again mine are aimed really low. Just looked at my 4th gen and there's condensation in the driver's side. I guess i have to save up for the Nova now LOL>
Have you had a problem with losing the low beam after using the high beam? Alpha had me disconnect the two (they’ve known about this) and now I have no low beam when using high beams, is it just me with this problem? 2006 ram dually
They were actually pretty dang close out of the box, but yeah I did fine tune the height for my truck. Any headlight you buy will need to be adjusted for your truck.
I have tried a couple of different led bulbs with resistors but they always flicker. I have a 07 2500. Have you heard of any flickering issues with these? It might just be my trucks computer.
@Just Diesels yeah, what about the running lights, with the extra harness? I've got it wired into a transmission Fuze right now but not sure if there's a certain or best one to wire it into?
