I did something similar with no name unit. The only problem was the led buttons, they were bright and become very annoying at night time. Hope alpine unit is better. Anyways good job Andrew.
Hi, i am looking into the same setup for my disco 2. Was the unit fully plug & play with the factory steering wheel controls or factory alpine amp as I have the 9? speaker factory system with CD changer & amp. Regards Jason
Did you have to do anything special to make this unit fit? This Alpine INE-W977D was discontinued. Will any single din 7" multimedia head unit fit a Discovery Series 2? I'm looking at purchasing a Pioneer DMH-1500NEX Digital Media Receiver with 7" WVGA Display. The dimensions are 11 x 9.5 x 6 inches.
