My type x 12" hit its last bass note 2 days ago. Still to be confirmed if it's actually blown. Amazing sub. If it's blown I'll definitely buy the newer w12d4 revision
Man that sucks, it put in hard work I'm sure everyday. The new version looks like a banger also, one day I'll get my hands on one. Thanks for your comment.
@Contact Info actually it was my pdx amp that blew! It was giving me problems anyway so i ended up buying a kenwood amp and havent had any issues whatsoever. Sub hits just as hard
Damn Bro!! your video alone has convinced me to get one, always rocked dual type r's couple years back but im after a poweful single. Whats the track your playing man I want to play the same one when trialling mine ay haha! thanks bro
The X-12 is louder than the R-15, the Type X is something else for sure. I'll check the video and listen for the track and write it under. Thanks bro, and also for the comment.
Nice, it's going to be a bad setup, the sub and amp are serious players. Good luck with it, if you get it online let me know I'll check it out, thanks for your comment.
@@SubzPawz Thanks for the reply. When it's up and running, and run in, I might make a short video. Keen as to get it going. I'll send you a link if I get to it
Had this on hold for a while but I picked up a 2nd one and installed it all recently. Two 12" type-x on a PDX-M12. Just running them in. Couldn't afford a custom box for now but threw them (gently) into a dual 12" sledgehammer box and they're loud and clear already for all music genres. Will post a video once they're run in. Might even need another amp to get the best out of them @@SubzPawz
How is sound difference with skar evl.12 and type x? I listen to edm and like mainly tight bass ..am I over spending or will I get just as good with skar evl?
If you have good power and the extra coin, don't think the type X a waste by any means. It sounds better with high and deep bass and has that rumble only a type X can have. Get the X, don't think about it and don't look back. Thanks for the question and your comment.
@Subs & Paws I will. I had the Type R and I like the way it felt like someone was pushing be in the back and moving the car forward. If the X is better, I will be pleased. I know nothing about Skar bit that they allege high rms power, however. I want punch and good sound so I can hear the highs too. Thnx
I have one that I paid over a thousand for and I have it up for sale and I haven’t even broke it in yet I had it hooked up to Rockford Fosgate 1200.1 and it could take much more
i guess it would first of all depend on which Fosgate amp you had. They are all different. Some are 1 ohm and some are 2 ohm amps. Either way the sub was probably running at 4 ohms or so, not actually 2 ohms, with box rise they run much higher. So if it was running at 4 ohms it was only getting 4-500 watt's actually, not 1200. This is the whole reason I started this channel was to show people what subs and amps were actually doing for power.
I have 2 new type x12s. I'm currently only running 1300rms to both subs in a ported tuned at 32. Looking to upgrade my amp to 2500rms + for head room and box rise. Seems like on 1300rms they barely flinch.
Yeah, they like a lot of power for sure. Like I said I gave them 1,000 and they could take much more than that. I had 2 of them about a year or so ago, I wish I kept them, but I got 1 back for now. Get that new amp, you'll be glad you did. Thanks for the comment.
@@SubzPawz ya I think I'm gonna run the RF t2500bdcp I don't like the price but those alpine are hi-end and play a huge genre of music and still sound amazing. I might even change from ported to sealed so I can have a larger frequency range with a sealed box
@@jaysonoliveira4752 that Rockford will rock them nice, those amps are amazing, I have about 10 different Rockford amps and they each perform fantastic in their own world.
@@SubzPawz ya I'm old school, phoenix gold,jl,RF,orion and now alpine is what I run........half bridge amps the size of a school bus is what I like.....lol
I need a new box for mine. I don’t want to get the box off of crutchfield. I want someone to build me one or order one that allows it to really hit. I have the newer one. W12d4 one. I am looking at getting 2 of them. I just need a box for it. I also have the alpine ax-90 or whatever it is mono amp that puts out 900 amp. They discontinued that and are coming out with another one. So looking to get that amp as well. I need some help with picking a box or getting one made. Someone help me.
If you really want the sound it should give you and money is not an issue I would get one built for you for exactly what you want and exactly what you want it to sound like. My son and myself are going to start building boxes soon but not yet. If you join Bassheads on a budget on facebook and ask the group for recommends for a box build you are going to get some replys. Thanks for the question and your comment. If you need anything else I'm always here.
I don't know if I've ever gotten a free sub myself. Lately Sundown X-10 and Skar Audio ZVX 12 and JL Audio W3 are my preferred go to's. Thanks for your comment 😊
It's a monoblock amplifier. Unless you're running 2 subwoofers you should automatically have it "bridged". If you have any further questions please let me know. Thanks for your comment I appreciate you 🙏
@@SubzPawz Mine is a 2 channel. I guess it's bridgeable? It doesn't have enough power to push my 2 12'' Alpine Type Rs. I'm going to bridge it to one until I can buy a JL amp.
@@Crazytownmetal6 so it's not actually a 2 channel amplifier. Harmony Audio doesn't make any 2 channel amplifiers. They are all monoblock amplifiers with 2 outputs. If you wire them one on the outer minus and the opposite side plus the outer one also that's how you should have them wired. If you wire each sub to the amp or both sub's wired in parallel to the one outer output it's the same. The amplifier knows the impedance load and will run it as so. I'm guessing your problem is impedance rise and not enough power from the amplifier. Those sub's need about 800-1,000 watt's to run efficiently. You're probably getting about a quarter maybe half that at best with the amp. There's many great options for amplifiers out there, Alpine, Taramps, Stetsom, Rockford Fosgate, Pioneer. I'm glad you wrote back, if you have any further questions please let me know. I'm always here to help.
The subwoofer? This is actually my third one of these. I have more video's using the others. Look back and check them out. I believe $150 maybe, I got a deal on it used.
