I have a pair of these boots but they are labelled Ducati atacama, same boot. The size Uk11 (45.5) is true to size with regular socks. They are warm, waterproof and where very comfortable from day 1 though I don’t fancy walking far in them. There is enough flex and grip to push a big bike. My only issue is a biproduct of their robustness. The thickness of the gear change area is such that if you set the gear lever for the upshift there is not enough movement in the boot to then position for the down shift. I’m hoping they will free up with use, they have developed a small indent that is making life easier. Not an issue when standing, I bought these boots for riding a GS Rallye and an XR400 both light Offroad use. Overall, I’m very pleased with them.
Hi Tony, Another great review. You mention they protect laterally but some people say they bend. I don’t want to order them from you and return so can you let me know if you get this please? I’m looking for lateral protection, preferably thicker sole and not necessarily need a steel sole plate but a quality boot. Thanks.
There is lateral protection, but they will bend with a reasonable amount of force. Looking at getting a pair of these in the oiled brown colour. The sizing guide is horrendous on the Alpinetars website. How do they fit? My biggest foot is 28cm in length. I wear a uk9 In everything. Looking at the size guide there is a massive difference between the US9 and US10. Almost like there is a size missing.
Yup, see what you mean. There's no UK 9 listed at all for these boots as they jump from 8.5 to 9.5. I'm like you - UK9 in everything and I wore a US10 (44.5) for this review. It's a couple of years since I wore them, but I don't recall any comfort issues so I'd start with a US10 and see how they fit. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony
@@sportsbikeshop in the Tech7 the US 10 are comfortable but have loads of room at the toe end. I’m worried they’ll have no ‘feel’ on the gear selector and rear brake lever. Dilemmas.
Looking through the customer reviews, no-one mentions wide feet when reviewing the Corozal boots. Of the alternatives you mention, the Forma boots have the most positive reaction from riders with wide feet. Of the 11 people who say they have wide feet, nine of them said the Forma boots fitted them.
