LS2 Valiant for 2 years. No complaints. Super great during allergy/sneezing season! Hahaha! Sneeze itch coming... flip it quick and voila! Problem solved!
I already have a pair of Alpinestars Toucan Gore-Tex Boots but find these too hot for summer use. Would the TCX Infinity 3 boots be much better in that regard?
I would expect them to be the same, thanks to the Gore-Tex liner. You'll want a pair of non-waterproof boots for cooler riding in summer, or a pair from TCX's Clima range, which have both a waterproof membrane and underfoot air channels to promote cooling. They don't have them in the same chunky style as the Infinity 3, though. Link to the closest Clima boots here... www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/736712 Cheers, Tony
Am I right in saying that the smart phone is always in connectivity to the Beeline 2. So basically an extension of your phone which is in your pocket while reading info on beeline 2. Or do you find the map on the App and download it to Beeline 2. Sorry I'm interested but confused about connectivity, thanks 👍
Not without some modification. Here's a guide to converting from tubed to tubeless-compatible wheels... adventure-motorcycling.com/converting-spoke-wheels-to-tubeless/
Just installed mine on my Desert X with the charging mount. I like the fun route mapping feature, but the GPX issues might be problematic, so will have a play with it. I was using my phone but really struggled to read it in certain light conditions, plus is pretty vulnerable. I think this is a good solution.
I found Beeline after making a comment about how cool it would be if the new Truest North Compass had a motorcycle version, and he suggested the beeline. The function that the Truest North Compass had that made me excited for a bike version was that it simply showed distance and direction. And while those aren't enough for a lot of folks, I can very much envision being able to ride by dead reckoning where you find your own way somewhere. That would allow you to joy ride, or wander wherever you liked by what looked like a fun direction while still knowing in a rough sense which direction you need to head...or to wander all day seeing what you can see...then navigate back by a different route using dead reckoning by direction and distance. The ability to switch back to a true navigation would be a nice feature for when frustration set in of course. I think the ability to wander while not getting yourself completely lost is something that a lot of folks would enjoy the opportunity to do.
It will be too tall for some, but I wouldn't put a hard line on it at 6ft. Nervous six-footers might still be uncomfortable with it, and confident 5ft 5in'ers might be fine. I'm 5ft 10in and had no problem at all. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
@@oldmanhobbies9554 i m 5.10 and i find it bulky.too wide handlebrs, too high seat feel.i m not sure what suzuki had in mind with this bike.to compete gs?far more comfortable on a tenere or transalp
I bought an XS K3 last year and having owned previous versions this one feels as though it fits differently. I had to buy thicker cheek pads to stop it moving around and now I feel as thought it’s too tight as my jaw starts to hurt after a bit and the padding hasnt gave any. Has it changed or is it just me? Actually thinking about getting another new helmet now.
Both very good helmets, but I'd say build quality is a bit higher on the Shoei. Try them both and see which suits your head better, then go with that. Cheers, Tony
@@sportsbikeshop Thank you once more. The built Quality is the same overall. I like the shape of the Shark but the technology of the Shoei is superior.
Apologies, but I have no experience of the original Ridill so cannot give a personal comparison. The Ridill 2 has been developed since Shark introduced the Best Fit feature, so it may well have a different fit than the original. Cheers, Tony
It's a subject that definitely splits opinion. Many riders will only use D-rings and just as many will only use micrometric. Give it some time and I'm sure it will take less time to fasten and will hopefully become a more natural movement for you. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
Apologies, I have no experience of the Atom 2. The MT Genesis SV features in our Top 5 budget flips video, as does the HJC i91 (which replaces the i91). You can watch that here... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CmqtLyY1Gxs.html Cheers, Tony
@@sportsbikeshop many thanks sir for the immediate reply, i've decided to purchased the MT Atom 2 modular matt black, it has a competitive price, and top notch safety features mark by latest ECE 22.06 certification and SHARP ratings of 3 stars, dual homogalation, and photochromic visor.
The SHARP rating is for the original MT Atom, which was approved to ECE 22.05. Based on recent SHARP results for 22.06 helmets I would expect a higher score for the Atom 2 if it's tested by SHARP. Also, I don't believe this helmet comes with a photochromic visor. Cheers, Tony
Mine is so loud. My 600 aud hjc is very quiet, My 1500aud shoei gtair3 is a hell of a lot louder, never needed ear plugs with my hjc f70 helmet, Visor is a bit clunky with closing. The Sena3 is great. The noise is unbearable at higher speeds.
I'm not sure I understand the question, but if you're asking whether it considers traffic status when selecting routes then it would appear not. Cheers, Tony
You can get those if you upgrade to the Beeline Plus app (£3.99 a month at the time of review). It works like any other sat-nav/intercom relationship - the instructions are audible through the speakers. Cheers, Tony
You might be OK with a medium. My head measures 59cm, but I almost always wear a medium, even if listed at 57-58cm. That didn't work for this helmet - and a large would be too loose. I wouldn't want to go up a size to make an unsuitable helmet fit me, especially for track or racing use. Cheers, Tony
@@sportsbikeshop I tried the Medium size standing and I felt some pain in the forehead after 10 minutes time. Large was too comfortable but not so sporty. It is frustrating because Rpha 11 was like a glove.
It was the same for me - I've just tried the new RPHA-12 and that is ideal for my head shape too, but the RPHA-1 doesn't suit it at all. I believe that sometimes we just have to accept that a particular helmet model will not work for our head shape. Cheers, Tony
@@sportsbikeshopunfortunately yes. I like it a lot but I cannot risk to choose this over other similar helmets because of the bad fit. Thank you for your response!
It's possible, but it won't clamp over the section where the Exo-Com mounting sits. You'd need to clamp the Freecom just in front of that, or use a self-adhesive pad to stick it on top of the Exo-Com mount. Cheers, Tony
Your channel is excellent. I really enjoy your no nonsense down to earth form of presentation and thorough coverage of the subjects you present. The absence of macho hype is especially refreshing. 🦘
to me it looks more a video to show off what you have in stock compared to a real comparison. There are many helmet that on fall on that category that you didn't mention
Sorry you feel that way. I think many of the helmets that we haven't mentioned are models we do have in stock here. If helmets have been omitted then in most cases it will be because there either isn't enough customer feedback on them, or that feedback isn't positive enough for the helmet to be included. Of course we're highlighting models we sell, but as a large retailer there are very few that we don't sell. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
I have a shark Evo es which which gets loud when closed and doesn’t lock into place unless you use some force. Looking to upgrade. I’m looking at the advant X carbon or the roof boxxer 2 carbon. Which is better? The latter seems to have a smaller angle of vision though based on pictures, is that so?
Out of the two, I think the closure is easier on the LS2. In terms of a more general choice, I think the LS2 is the more practical lid and the Roof's main attraction over the Advant X Carbon is the streetfighter styling. I don't recall peripheral vision being a problem with either helmet. I hope that helps you decide which is right for you. Cheers, Tony
Downside for the beeline moto 2 for me is that you only seem to be able to use it as a speedo when you have set a route. I was hoping to use the speedo feature with out having to set a route for when I just wanted a gps speed reading on a route I know.
I guess you don't have to follow the route. Just put in a destination you have no intention of visiting, use the switch to set it to speedo screen and off you go - digital GPS speedo is go. Cheers, Tony
Not as things stand, though in the past Schuberth have offered a Basic model that comes without stuff like that. We'll have to wait and see whether they product a C5 Basic. Cheers, Tony
These are pretty lengthy already so we don't want to go down that route and extend them any further. Hopefully someone out there has a video showing these things. Cheers, Tony
The 1N designation is for the United States market. As far as I can tell the specification is the same for both helmets, though sometimes manufacturers alter the internal shape of the helmet to better suit the dominant head shapes in that market. Cheers, Tony
I bought myself a T9 and a T18 and I use them for cycling (road and trail riding). I kept wearing out cheaper back packs - broken zips, clips etc. I ride every day in all weathers. Apart from the superbly heavy duty build quality, Kriega's trump card is the way the weight of the bag is very evenly spread across the back and shoulders. I ride for hours with just lightweight cycling clothing and these bags induce very little in the way of fatigue or chafing so if you're wearing any sort of decent motorcycle jacket, you'll barely notice these bags are on your back. Spend the money on high quality and don't bother with cheaper bags.
Great video as always. I’m a big and tall rider with a big head so I struggle to find helmets that fit. No one makes content on gear for big/tall riders so it would be nice to see a video on best helmets for big heads for example. I have a big head and I’m stuck with the HJC CL-SP (3XL) as I don’t have many options
I think it's worth the extra for the Exo-520, especially if you need a Pinlock (by the time you add one to the Exo-491 there's a £20 difference between that and the 520). But £20 means a different amount to different people. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony
I bought a c5 and sold it after a week, the visor kept coming down when it felt like it and the locking strap was short / tight and a faf, horrible helmet.
