Alpinestars GP Pro R2 Gloves Review
www.revzilla.co...
The Alpinestars GP Pro R2 Gloves are built for high-end track day riders and racers who want their gloves to be as ardently focused as they are. A supple full-grain cow, goat, and kangaroo leather outer shell allows the GP Pro R2 Gloves to combine the best in durability comfort and tactile responsiveness. Additional features that make the Alpinestars GP Pro R2 leather motorcycle gloves stand out can highlighted with the strategic perforation / venting scheme to maximize airflow, Astars’ Dynamic Friction Shield knuckle protector system, and Dupont Kevlar upper hand and thumb lining for added slide resistance.

I applaud Alpinestars for making a more refined-in-aesthetics glove. The previous iteration had a very mid-2000s look akin to the earlier GP Pros & Techs. These Pro R2 gloves are more in line with the revamped style of all high-end A* gloves. My only gripe is with the cuffs; they're getting shorter & shorter. One thing I loved of the previous GP Pro were the huge cuffs for excellent impact protection. The Pro R2 are great gloves though!

These look soo much more refined and slick compared to the previous gen. And I also prefer 'em over the new GP Plus R.

+Chandler LeBoeuf No, just from the breakdowns. I definitely want these when they release in my part of the world.

Slightly more competitive price would make this the glove of choice of many bikers and tracks enthusiasts in 2017.

The gp pro r2 or the gp plus r? I previous have the celer v2, size L, wich size of GP pro r2 or GP plus r should i buy?
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 4 года назад
If you are only riding on public roads, then you are probably ok with the GP Plus R. If you are riding at the racetrack, then you should get the GP Pro R2 or now the R3. Both should fit you in size L. -DrewZilla *bit.ly/GPPlusRv2_Gloves *bit.ly/GPProR3_Gloves

Is the sizing same on the GP Plus R and GP Pro R2 gloves? Thank you.
@RevZilla

The GP Pro R2 Gloves fit about 1/4 - 1/2 size tighter than the GP Plus R. -DrewZilla

@@RevZilla My hand is about 22.5cm and GP Plus R were small in size L, so I ordered GP Pro R2 in size XL, in alpinestars size chart it says that XL is from 22.9 to 24.1, I hope that they will fit me right.

Hey bro, I got these gloves today. Perfect fit EXCEPT I noticed the right glove fits perfectly, the thumb is too long in the left glove. Weird Alpinestars quality control issues. Aside from that the leather is really nice and glove fits awesome. I also ordered Dainese 4 Stroke Long gloves to compare. Gonna be hard not to keep both lols.

What are the features that make these ce level 2 rated
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 6 лет назад
The features are the strength of the materials and thread such that they pass the higher levels for impact protection, abrasion resistance, and puncture resistance. Alpinestars does not list anything more specific regarding changes made to pass the latest standard, just that they do pass level 2 of the standard. -DrewZilla

Hey Revzilla, my hands are measured at 8.3inches, so should i get the Medium (8-8.5) or Large (8.5-9)?
@RevZilla

How do these gloves compare to the Dainese 4 stroke long ?
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 7 лет назад
These are a step up over the 4 Stroke Long Gloves. These GP Pro R2 Gloves have better wrist and palm protection. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-gp-pro-r2-gloves

I just saw that your question from 8 months ago remained unanswered, so allow me to reply even though you probably already made up your mind. Both gloves are excellent gloves but these Alpinestars offer a bit more value for your money. I've tried both gloves (and I've reviewed dozens upon dozens of gloves from many brands) and the A* gloves offer a bit more feedback than the Dainese 4 Strokes through the kangaroo-leather palms of the former. Also, these A* gloves vent better than the 4 Stroke gloves, so that's that if you want gloves to wear in summer. Hope that helped!

I find the old GP Tech Gloves to be a bit too bulky, so I really prefer these GP Pro R2 Gloves. -DrewZilla

I got the GP Tech, beautiful gloves and I just wore them for the second time last night and they already feel broken in, the leather is so soft and nice, I just want to hide them and not ride in them they're so nice! And they're not the first expensive pair I have as I have a pair of Dainese full metal RS that I've used plenty of times, but those are so stiff and hurt my hands, these A-stars are much much better, and cheaper!
