My friends played this song for me in the car while driving home from my birthday celebrations last night. It was the first time I ever heard of this band and I am now in love with this song and this band. Thank you for a perfect evening Julia and Daniel!

I have just rediscovered this band, I'm so proud of my younger self having such good taste in music.

I just finished watching "leon the professional" and when I heard: 'this is from mathilda' i just started crying.. i forgot the song was related. This is all so beautiful.

This song...heals my soul. Making me feel safe...safe and happy.

I see some people didn't realize this song is about the movie "Léon: The Professional." Also, their song Breezeblocks is based off of the book/movie "Where The Wild Things Are"

Good song with catchy tune, the cool thing about Alt J is even though their songs have different moods, you can always tell its made by Alt J by their signature tune.

i’ve known this song for almost 4 years, and I have listened to it without knowing it’s meaning, until now that I have just watched Leon: The Professional, and i’ve gotta say, that this is a masterpiece. It’s so powerful I couldn’t take back my tears after the movie and now everything makes just sense.

I’ve been listening to that song almost everyday since it came out in 2012. Somehow it helped to go through my hard times during highschool and even to this day. That song means a lot to me, I’m definitly gonna name my daughter "Matilda"

Thanks to Dan and Phil's radio show, I found this amazing band that quickly became one of my favorites. Will forever be thankful!

When I saw the ending of the movie for the first time in my life the song came into my head almost instantly. Needless to say I was blown away at just how they encapsulated the movie in a few bars.

I heard this song for the first time last year. My ex boyfriend used to play it and we would listen to it during our peaceful winter mornings at home. It reminds me of him and those beautiful mornings. ❤ never imagined I would love and miss a person so much but that’s life ❤ the most important thing is to find and love ourselves before anyone else 😊

When people say those same sorts of comments about this song though I really do believe them. I believe them because I TOO CANNOT STOP LISTENING TO THIS SONG. I first heard it in an energizing yoga class playlist and I have been playing it ever since. There's something about this song that words simply can't quite describe; I don't just 'want' to listen to the song, I NEED to hear it. I've never had this with a song before. I also agree with others that watching the film "Léon: The Professional" makes the song even more special.

I still remember I was 13 (2013) when my friend suggested this song to me, tbh I didn't like it but after few listens I was like "oh uh this isn't bad" until I became obsessed with it lol, the next day I went to my friend saying oh god give me more songs please so he sent me "Taro" "breezblocks" "Fitzpleasure" in my MP3 and he also suggested "Radiohead (my favorite band of all time, Pink Floyd, GNR..." Now it's almost 2023 and I haven't heard anything from him because we separated in high school but I'm so grateful that I met him, he has changed my life 200% and and changed my way of thinking about life and he opened my eyes to a lot of things especially my musical taste. it both warms and disturbs me that this movie still has following. i first saw it as a little kid back when it was new..... no idea where my parents were, letting me watch that.... but i loved it so much that when it came on again i recorded it on VHS so i could watch it again. sadly i missed the first ten minutes..... about two or three years later my mom (of all people) gave me an official copy for Christmas....which i loaned to my bestest of friends at the time... a kid named Brett Butler. We both wanted to grow up to be Cleaners. I sometimes wonder whatever happened to him. he was pretty cool. right this very minute i'm asking myself why I haven't upgraded my VHS to DVD or something.... probably because I watched it soooooooooooo many times I already know it by heart. incidentally, and weirdly, Jordan Peterson is how i found this song. life... has many strange twists and turns.

Ok, I need to stop. I've just hit repeat far too many times for one day, even for me, a habitual song killer. I can already tell I'm going to find myself singing this chorus without any explanation as to how it entered my head. Haunting.
