Received my copy of Altar Quest The other day and loved unboxing it all. Very excited to get this to the table and to start painting it all up! Was thrilled with the amount of content and what was in boxes. Only issue I'm gonna have is where to keep those tokens! It's a shame there's not an in built storage solution for them but given the amount of minis and cards I can see why! Guess it'll be loose baggys for Altar Quest!
Much better unboxing. Your content keeps improving. Never edit, it's what we love about your channel. Holy Schmeltz (sp?) made me laugh. Is that kid-friendly Jewish swearing? :)
Great video! I noticed you were having the same problems as me when pulling some of the minis out of the box. Way too tight in some spots. Also, you didn't really get into them, but the cards themselves have issues. I love the artwork but the cards feel really cheap when you are holding them. We sleeved them right away out of fear of damaging them while shuffling. That being said we love this game, a strong contender for the best dungeon crawler.
Been recording stuff over the past month in prep for starting my channel and I can already appreciate the process of trying to improve the quality of videos! 😂
@@BoardGameCo I know I've stated in a previous response but the hero selection in Altar looks superior and the fact that SFG aren't even including a hero pack as an add on to address the imbalance strikes me as odd. Admittedly I know my opinion can (and probably is) seen as controversial but I don't see any reason for not having an even split of heroes covering males and females with androgynous (animals in Bardsung's case) mixed in if the designer wishes. Surely equal representation is the best option moving forward? Assuming it fits within the context of the lore/story.
Played first Quest solo. Strong card mechanic forces tactical play all the time. The artwork a well as frog and pig minions are not really mine but it's ok. With the MDS it feels really unique in the crawler genre. Definitely a keeper game for me. I love the furniture 😂
My All-In-Pledge is supposedly arriving Monday! The level of hype is getting hard to contain. :D Depending on how fun it'll be to play, the Street Masters bundle on Indiegogo will be looking very appealing...
This and Eldervale are in my top 10 games now, and they both delivered in the past month! I regret picking single shipment for Etherfields though after seeing videos :(
Played 1 game 2 hand solo, then 1st campaign game 1 handed. Fun hut not too difficult. Will look forward to the harder missions. Painting the entire set now.
Hey Alex, It's been several months, and whilst featuring clearly in the background of many of your videos (prominent place on the shelf behind you!) I/we are yet to see a review/gameplay video of this content - when, when, WHEN dear boy?! ;-)
I wish I was a board gamer when this was on kickstarter I would have gone all in. As is, my first big "pledge" is coming in February with 1st half of Nemesis.
Got mine on wednesday, Can't wait to play this badboy :-). Blacklist certainly give you good value for money, providing a hoard of good mini's for your $. But having seen pictures of the mini's of my friends copy of Etherfields, Blacklist are still afew steps down from top tier mini's. They also commited a cardinal sin (in my eyes) in the expansion, 50% dead space in the box..grrrr
As a compulsive sleever, it’s actually nice to have an empty box that I can build an insert to hold all of the cards (plenty of space in the main boxes for the Arkenspire minis when you take out the card rows).
Still haven't gotten to play this. My stretch goals box came pretty messed up (clearly from the factory) and my base box board is de-laminated. Waiting on a response so hopefully they make it right since my kid is eager to get this one played.
Did you get the ruins of arkenspire expansion from late pledging the Quest Tier pledge alone or did you have to add it as an add on? Great Video as always!
@@BoardGameCo gotcha. It didn’t even hit my radar until I watched your video pointing out that you can late pledge for it during the fs1 late pledge so big thank you for that!! And that does explain why I was not able to grab the expansion. I know it will be available on their online store eventually though. Thank you again!
I didn’t back this initially bc the art didn’t speak to me. However, I ended up backing it after I watched your video. No regrets. I love street masters and AQ has a similar feel with a bit more polish and additional mechanisms. 👍👍 edit to add that the minis are much better quality than the SM ones.
Normally I don't like unboxing videos. But you did it again. You have a gift and believe me I watch a lot of videos. I'm even a little bit jealous. By the way your camera only focuses on your nails ;-)
Well that's a lot of boxes... I am already running out spaces to store games with things that fit in one box :p I had not picked up the hobby when this was on KS, it looks like heroquest no?
Its more like Heroquest inspired. I own Heroquest from years ago and in my view it has not stood the test of time to well (its too simple for my group, eg roll die for how far you move, and requires a games master for the rest of the group to play against). Heroquest is good however for playing with kids or as a longer beer and pretzels fun game. I received my Altar Quest this week and have yet to play it but am very happy so far- its a full coop and simple/interesting rules without being lacking with lots of replayability and a campaign in addition to the main one off game play.
I backed it for £1 but forgot to get it in the pledge manager, and now I want it 😔 Been searching on eBay but there's only one copy and it's for auction. I'm historically bad at winning auctions because I always get outbid at the last second but hopefully not
