I had a pr of these A.L. model 19's.. My grandfather was hard of hearing, and I only seen him cover his ears twice.. And one of those times was when I really cranked them up.. I thought it was literally going to shatter the windows... Loved those speakers...

Слышно как пальцы гитариста и с каким усилием в нажатии касаются струн,деки; из какого материала изготовлена гитара и какая глубина папиллярного слоя на пальцах исполнителя(почти без шутки).Очень естественное звучание. Эта акустика явно высочайшего класса и явно вне времени. Автору спасибо.

Да ! Но всё же - какой-то призвук металла у альтеков есть ...не сужу по вашим записям , послушал их , в своё время ! Но , в общем -да ...достойные дрова , особенно разрешение ) и ...легендарные ! Поставьте более насыщенную музыку .... оркестровую напр. а эта - несколько провокационна ...
Speakers sound great, respectfully, this is not my favorite music, but much better than the mind numbing jazz most people with this vintage speaker play to demonstrate them.
видел другое видео какого-то пользователя с такими АС на макинтошах - высоких частот вообще не услышал - подумал, что колонки слишком старые и под рупором стоит какая-то сч головка - в те времена с ВЧ не парились, просто отсекали даже... НО!!! Здесь я четко услышал звон струн! Великолепно записано! Браво! И АС хороши-таки!
I am shure that Yamamoto amp makes a great contribution of "feel good" factor here. Saying this because I had owned many of Tannoy Prestige Speakers, which corporate horn loading tweeter, and they could sound excellent with valves ( Copland ) or also horrible ( Leben ). Now I listen to Proac responce & AM 201 = good sound. These Altec19 are fantastic speakers, and with the right amplification the "Shout" horn factor will be eliminated, so carefull matching is a key. I wonder how Shindo would sound in this set up because it's a bit of softer valve set up. Great system, great song as well.
Thank! You are completely right, this speaker will coordinate thanks to the presentation of the soft and beautiful sound of a single-ended Yamamoto. I had some unpleasant moments with this speaker and other very good amplifiers, so the amplification factor is really very important here.
First off, I gotta tell ya I'm no Altec fan. JBL's too. The famous WEST COAST SOUND. That is till I experienced the Altec 19's. Heard them at a friends place in 1979. WOW, awesome speakers. Some background on the 19's; 15" woofer, vented. An exceptional Radial Phase Plug horn tweeter. Good frequency response down to 30hz, outstanding sensitivity of 99db. Amp power to 350w and an incredible SPL of 117db @ 65watts. A little weighty at 143 lbs. Big too, 30"X39"X 21". Even classical works sounded swell on these monsters. Not the best speakers but truly great sound. What more can I say?? Impressive.
Compared to most of what Altec made the model 19 were an anomaly. Vastly better than the other models, especially the VOT which sound like a colored tin cans next to the far more refined and accurate model 19s. The phase plug was called the Tangerine and does what it says... smoothing out the tweeter's response and extending the treble in both directions.
@@roberte.andrews4621, thanks for asking. In 1978 when looking to upgrade speakers I auditioned several models. Infinity, Polk, Micro Acoustics, Advent, EPI and a few others. I liked the Ohm model L speakers. Small, with deep bass to around 40Hz, good dispersion and transient response. Great power handling and stereo imaging where the sound is almost totally detached from the speakers. I still use them in my 1,700+ cu/ft living room. I really wanted the Ohm model H speakers but couldn't afford the $700+ price tag. I'm satisfied with my system and don't go searching for "better" speakers. I did acquire a pair of Ohm H speakers last year. Restored (with Ohm drivers) sonically and cosmetically for $275 for both speakers. A freakin' steal. With prodigious bass to 32Hz (+/-3dB) they have superb sound, to me. If you really don't know what speakers to buy, and would like to go vintage?? The EPI-100 are budget minded systems that have tight mid and low bass (to near 45Hz), very good dispersion and power handling. Open, airy highs and sound "musical". A 30wpc amp will do well with these speakers.
@@scottcarlon6318, sorry I took so long to respond. I could never afford TOTL speakers but, a few I liked were Electro-Voice Interface D, Infinity Reference Standard, Acoustic Research AR9 and the ADS 810. But that's just my humble opinion.
Nice sound at the mid-range Mr.Shaman, 2A3's from Yamamoto I think help a lot to this result. Please give us a recording with some more lows and highs in order to complete the demonstration that I've found it very interesting. All best from Greece!
I'm glad to know how wealthy you are. Otherwise you'll need to take out a MORTGAGE on the Altecs. My Klipsch models (Cornwall IIs, and two sets of Heresy IIs) have passed the the double blind test so many times I have lost count. I cover my sound stage with curtains, folks walk in and want to meet the musicians playing. My 7.1 sub sets up a sound stage where audience clapping is all around you. Do that with your overpriced Altecs.
Younger listeners have grown-up with crap speakers in their imported plastic devices and haven't a clue as to what real music sounds like, sad to say. I saved up and bought vintage Altec. I won't need another system in my lifetime.
Правильно - это же американские АС, поэтому если даже их не включать, то будет уже чувствоваться как они хорошо звучат…. А если включили и звук не айс, то это что угодно плохое, только не эта АС -)) Верно? На самом деле акустика не плохая, но очень на любителя. Кривая просто пипец, поэтому очень сложно заставить её звучать прилично и микрофоны не при чем, все остальные ролики тоже с этими микрофонами записаны -)) У меня они нормально зазвучали только с однотактным ламповым усилителем Yamamoto, можно сказать он их затащил…

Алтек вообще гавно . Вот в паре с Кинапом они ничего . Не надо делать из них прям какое то чудо . Я сам начитался плнакупил их и заебался пока из этого мусора что то стоящее собрал и то половина кинап , половина алтек . Вот jbl после смерти лансинга и присоединения к харман кардон стал делать нормальные колонки .

Guess the mic is almost on the guitar... witch is pretty dum way to record. Have one ever heard an unplugged guitar sound like this ? That said the system seems great despite the recording process.
