This song, the acoustic Billlboard version, is the first time I ever heard Myles Kennedy's spectacular vocals. This led to discovering the rest of the band. They're my favorite now. And, yes, he had a friend who could not kick a drug habit. A codependent relationship he had to leave behind was his inspiration for this song. Just curious as to why you skipped the second verse? Did I skip a verse? The markers on the video showed it going into another song, that's why I stopped. It was another song I planned on doing anyway though.
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks It was right after the first time you commented on his use of his higher register. The lyric goes: "You say you care for me But hide it well. How can you love someone and not yourself." Very poignant lyric. I do appreciate your comments on these songs. They are a great band.
After your response to this comment in your next review, I did go back ND double check. Myles did skip that verse in this live version. I usually watch the Amsterdam versions where the entire song is performed. Myles was sick during this recording. Thanks again for your reactions.
Ya… I love the concert for the concert songs selection from the time - from debut to AB111, as well as the performances and the crowd response… but, you can definitely hear Myles’ congestion minorly affecting his vocals. He still does a more than commendable job. 👍Fantastic singer.
Maybe let the song go on for a while, make a comment or two, then let the song again and so on. Your style: 3 sec of the song , stop, talk , then again. Take notes from others, see how it's done and maybe you'll stop butchering the songs. Just a thought.
Yep, that's my style, sorry. Appreciate you watching. I don't always stop so much, but I'll always stop if I've got something to say. There are plenty of other reactors that don't stop as much (or at all), so I feel no need to replicate their styles. I don't feel like I'm butchering the song since the goal of the video isn't actually for the audience to listen to the song. It's for me to react to what I'm hearing and that's what I do.
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks I think what he is trying to say is that if you stop so many times a song is not the same that listening without stopping. For you to feel the song. We all know it. Who is discovering it is you.
@DadDaughtersandDrinks I understand, and it's your choice. I respect that. It was just a suggestion on how to keep your audience engaged and not annoyed by too many interventions . Kinda like the rule of never interrupting a guitar solo. 🙂
