What a beautiful flower! And I absolutely love this journal! What a great idea to make it garden related. I saw Barbara’s video as well. It definitely saddens me that RU-vid has decided to no longer support those that had their channels for a while. At least that’s what it feels like. It feels like they just dropped all of the long time channels. And there’s not much else those of us that are regulars can do. We comment, we like, and of course we’re subscribed. But I keep hearing that it’s about 50% of people that even interact with the channel. I don’t understand. Like I said to Barbara, you would not sit there and watch a performance and not at least applaud at the end of the performance. Which is equivalent to just pushing that like button. Putting a heart in the comment section. It’s crazy. And I really hope that you were able to continue. I see that you keep growing, which is awesome. But I know how hard you’re trying. Anyway, you can count on us regulars! Hugs 🤗❤️ ps I almost sent you an email because we hadn’t seen you in a while. I hope that you are doing OK. You deserve some breaks ❤
Oh, thanks so much Tamara, I know you support me all the time and it is very much appreciated. It can be quite disheartening to see a video not getting many views after all the work that goes into making them. Surprisingly, subscriber numbers don't count for much as far as the algorithm goes, interaction gets the attention. Given the amount of channels on RU-vid, which is somewhere in the vicinity of 63.5 million (mind boggling), I feel blessed to get the views and followers that I have. Luckily we are a small niche group with not as much competition as many other groups. Love your analogy regarding reaction to a performance, you just wouldn't not applaud a performance. Haven't been on the air but have been busy. My room has undergone a major sorting and my energy levels are somewhat recharged after a long July, (self inflicted). Hugs as always, and more hugs for your continued support, always look forward to reading your heartfelt comments. xxxxx
Glad you like it LouAnn. Started this book some time ago and found it again during my big clean up. Will do more videos as I work to getting it finished. Cheers
Sweet flower. It’s so summery. Your page definitely fits the garden theme. I’m back from my hiatus. Hope your winter, summer for us, is going well. I missed watching you make great things. I must say … 👏👏👏😎
Hi Donna, thank you. Our winter just became summer in the blink of an eye, gone from 17c days to high 20s. I'm looking forward to creating many beautiful things for you and everyone else, cheers.
In addition to the like button comment. So this is a comment but I do like what you are showing us how to do. Like this page. Easy to use the technique myself. Thanks.
Love this page. The sunflower drawing is lovely. Hope your channel picks up. I regularly go to my subscribed channels and look at a few videos in order to put them on the circuit (so to speak) again. I hope that does something useful. Cheers.
👍Like for sure! After the video I turned my phone and lost you to a commercial !🤨 grr ...😅 anyway just wanted to say I loved your page! ❤ I don't think I've heard anyone explain about using the gesso to blend with the pages that have been glued to the page. Thanks for that. Have a great weekend!😊
Hi Leigh - Where you been? You have winter now so no vacation time right. I also saw Barbara's video and wrote her an email.. It's a drag. You are getting closer tp 7K. I wish I could do a bunch more but no one I know is watching youtube. I hope it all works out. Glad you are making an altered book. Curious to see what comes of it. Hugs.
Hi Jackie, been having a rest and getting my art room tidied up and re-organised, couldn't find anything. This book is a bit rough, started it some time ago and had thrown it to the side, another unfinished project. I didn't realise how the pages are taken out is so important to keeping the book's structure in tact. I found it during my clean up & thought it deserved to get some attention and be finished off. One day I'll do a start to finish of how to remove the pages the right way. Hope all is well with you, cheers.
Hi Leigh - I made two XL journals… I took A3 paper and folded it in half. I worked on them unbound but yesterday I bound both of them (so boring) in Amazon envelopes… I didn’t decorate the covers yet so it’s Amazon packaging. They are very nice to work esp if you don’t just paint but if you also put pockets and all kinds of junk in them. Lots of fun. Make one just to make it….
Thanks Edith, it was a fairly simple process. Found an image then glued it onto the page and used a craft knife to cut out some of the background. Used a small cutting mat under the page so as not to damage the other pages. I'll do a video soon so keep an eye out for it. xx
