Here's a demonstration of how I make my cut-out pages in my garden themed altered book. Hope you enjoy this.

Your floral cut-out page reminds me of the fancy cut-out embroidered work on fabric women used to do. It also reminds me of crochet doilies. This is a beautiful technique and could be a lot of fun too. I love the idea of Tim Holtz ladies peeking out throughout the page. And yes, a plain background gesso, black or a color would be perfect. Oh boy. My mind is a busy one after this video. As I often say, love it, Leigh. 👏👏👏👏😎 >>> Hope your Rx eye glasses turn up soon.🤓

Thanks Selina, there are those mistakes which are lessons aren't they, extra special inclusions. Was thinking that some gold paint on those page remnants might look nice. What do you think?

Hello Leigh, I think that some of your gelli prints would make an amazing background. Definitely green and perhaps some light blues near the top. I always enjoy your creative thought process. And yes I would love to see your tutorial on the page you were referring to in the JJJ book. 😊❤

I just made my first altered book too and and zi made some pocket pages that are now a bit smaller than I thought but plan on using my pen pal received art to finish mine. I will try this cut out page method now that I have some of your tips. TY, for showing so many different kinds of mixed media pages.
