Thank you for this video. I am relieved many Altered players try to avoid playing Waru as he erradicates the fun playing this fantastic game. The aspect I am frustrated with is not its strength but the deck's ability to prevent you enjoying your own deck. This early in the meta people usually try different decks to see how viable certain strategies are. On a LGS level everything is fine. But I predict that the next big tournament is going to show even more Waru in Top Cut. As the price support improves in the future (e.g. exclusive Promo cards instead of booster boxes) competetive players are obviously going to use the best deck available to obtain those valuable prices. Let's wait for the next set(s) to come.
We all share the same sentiment at varying levels of frustrated i suspect. my aim for this video is to increase awareness of it and an understanding of the ripple effect of a tiny ability. what starts as a ripple quickly becomes waves of damage to your gameplay.
As you pointed out its not Just Robin Hood but specifically him in Waru & Mack, i think even without Robin Hood, Waru´s ability provides just way to much value in comparison to all other heroes, I , mean if you sequence correctly you can trade your tempo in the first round and then get almost double value for all bureaucrats and sigismars ability on top of that. Even without the bureaucrats ability's just the fact that you can spend your spare resources to play characters upfront for next turn gives you way more options than all the other heros provide. I think would I would test show he plays when you have to pay for his ability (like pay 1 to set a bureaucrat asleep, if that's too much then make it cost only for the first one per round et.c.).
Another solid idea. It's very apparent that waru just does too much for free. We can hope that going forward we see some balance and changes. My concern is now we will eventually see set 2 spoilers every single bureaucrat is gonna be put under a microscope of "is this gonna break waru further"
