Honorable Mention in the Field Production category
A young Marine alters his military identification card so that he may use it to purchase alcohol at the local exchange and is caught by an non-commissioned officer (NCO). He is then escorted to the Staff Duty NCO for the incident. The narration explains why a Marine would alter his ID and the consequences that can lead up for violating regulations under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Exactly. When I was active-duty, in Germany I saw several service members, under 18 not allowed a strong drink. Such an oxymoron. If we serve our country and face war, we deserve a drink.

It's so easy to get alcohol in the barracks. Just befriend the older Marines and they'll give you some.

Hahaha 🤣 dude the Cpl in the video is me and I made this video. Wasn't my idea, I was tasked with producing a PSA about altering IDs because apparently it was an issue back then. I had another camera guy working with me that refused to act the part so I had no choice but to step in. And no, I wasn't the type to check Marine's shave on a Sunday 😂

Aw man...I've been out less than 2 years and the Corps has fallen off big time when it comes to "attention to detail." I've NEVER been in an exchange THAT neat lol. And dude had a war bag on when he was adsep'd. You don't get to keep any issued gear or uniforms when you receive an adsep.

Why? Too much work. Just pay the senior Marines to fly and buy. Our command didn't care about under aged drinking as long as it didn't involve a DUI, arrest, or a trip to the hospital.

LOL. We never altered any IDs, just had one of the guys in the unit who was 21 grab it. No one cared about under age drinking at the barracks...except for the time the 19 year old flatlined in an ambulance.

In my time a Marine could have a beer as the drinking age on base was 18. just go Thrash the Shite out of him instead of getting him a NJP, for F sake Cpl
