Alternate History of the World Collab: Standstill (Nightside) - Episode 01 - Downfall 

If the earth didn't spin, then one side would become incredibly hot, while the other deathly cold. That would pose an interesting challenge to not just humanity, but to all species of the Earth.

A few honest critiques that I feel could make these videos much more enjoyable: -Increase the size of the speech, it's so small it's hard to read -If possible, it would be lovely if you could show land being flooded or oceans retracting. If this is too difficult I understand, especially due to the fact that the oceans are not one single color

First Memoir I am recording my story. I always had a fondness for diaries, but now that the apocalypse seems to be on the horizon, I believe it is time to make this official. My name is Michael Polley. I live on the outskirts of Houston, near the Mission Control Center. I always wanted to be an astronaut, and as I reached my 26th year, I heard news of the planned moon landing. That day, the 20th of July, gave me so much inspiration. I planned to begin training to become an astronaut soon afterward. But then... it all came falling down. I noticed weird things during that day. First off, I began to trip a lot often. I know that that may seem strange, but believe me, it will make sense later on. Every trip felt as if the Earth was moving underneath me, moving back. I was perplexed. I decided to take a nighttime stroll. And that's when I saw it. The control center… in flames. I fell on the ground and wept. This was it, I thought. The end of the dream I had chased my entire life. Police forces began to appear, and I decided to return to my home before I was asked any questions. I stayed in my bed for some time, before comforting myself. America will find a way to rise again, I thought. Like in the Great Depression. I decided to contact my cousin Henry in the UK and tell him what had happened on this fateful day, but I was not able to. Then, I heard commotion outside. Confused, I stepped out of my house and joined the crowd outside. And, there I saw it. A massive, gray object staring down at us. A second moon. I was filled with awe at this beauty, but also fear. Why had this thing appeared? How? I returned to my house, and I decided that this was all a dream. I went to sleep to wait out for the morning. How wrong was I… 8:00. The sun had not yet risen. Only a pitch black sky remains. Something is wrong. I felt it. I checked my clock again. Then my phone. I checked every other clock I had. They were all at 8:00. I was confused and frightened. I even checked if I was awake by throwing my hand against a wall. I opened my tv to see if there was news. The government has sent an emergency broadcast, telling citizens to stay calm and await news. Well, the anarchists certainly didn't. They began raiding the neighborhood. I shut the door. They began ramming it, shouting for them to give me my possessions. I bravely resisted until the police forces arrived. They looked hassled for some reason. But, as the weeks passed, it became clear why. America was placed under martial law. The anarchists raided, and raided, and eventually I had to build defenses against them. But, it was clear that the sun was never coming back. The standstill, some called it. One side of the planet would be in eternal night, the other in eternal daylight. It scared me. The areas around my home flooded, and winds blew ferociously. When the military took over the government, I decided to finally move out. I stocked the speedboat I had been keeping for a vacation. I propelled away. Away from America, for the first time in 26 years. I hope I can brave the storms of the Atlantic. May providence allow me to set foot on the shores of the old world. Please...

I have a test tomorrow on the rotation of the Earth, so... Obviously I must binge watch the series again

I don't know if I'm more excited for the politics of this world or the effects of the so called "Standstill", how much time does mankind have until the temperature starts to drop and rise in their respective hemispheres because of the lack of earth's rotation? How will the "Nightside" interact with the "Dayside"? What will happen with the place between the two sides of this coin? May artillerus be with us in the times to come.

Something is off with the quality of this video. Even in 1080p it is still llike 480p.

If the Earth stopped spinning suddenly, the atmosphere would still be in motion with the Earth's original 1100 mile per hour rotation speed at the equator. All of the land masses would be scoured clean of anything not attached to bedrock. This means rocks, topsoil, trees, buildings, your pet dog, and so on, would be swept away into the atmosphere.

Now I can comment with knowledge. The plot is amazing, and this is your first episode, so if it continues to be like this for all the serie , than it might turn out even better than ahoe(which is the best mapping serie ever and that made you the best mapper ever). The map is really well done, and it's both old school and edgy. The shadings are absolutely beautiful. I have only one complain, and oh boy, it has to be important if it's against the work of the god of Mapping. The damn text box. It's too small. I could barely read anything. Also the fonts of the nation's are blurred for some reason. If you change that this will be so much more entertaining to watch. Good job Imperial
