Prolotherapy can be an effective alternative to wrist fusion or other fusion surgery. In this video, Ross Hauser, MD explains the nature of wrist injuries and wrist instability that would make a person a candidate for wrist surgery or Prolotherapy. In our experience, pain can be eliminated and motion restored using Prolotherapy as an alternative to surgery.

Thanks for the question and sorry to hear about your struggle with RA. Generally Prolotherapy is used more for osteoarthritis. There are instances though where it can be used for joint pain in someone with RH, if the overall RA is under good control. If you would like to contact us directly to talk more about your case in detail, we can probably better help give you the right information for you. Take care for now.

There are Prolotherapy practitioners around the globe. So I hope you can discuss it with someone who actually does it, as they would be best to consult with. Wish you the best on your procedure in the meantime.

Off course you do not have some case study and papers that shows evidence that prolotherapy cured advanced stage Slac, when arthrodesis is the only surgical option.

Would prolotherapy be effective as a treatment for joint damage caused by Rheumatoid arthritis? I have extremely severe damage to my carpal bones due to RA, and my right wrist was frozen in the position shown in this video from the damage and inflammation.

So Would Nearly A Full Ten Years After My Accident/Injury, 3 Wrist Operations & Other Treatments, Like Physiotherapy & Painkillers,Pain Management, Would Prolotherapy Be Of Any Benefit To Me?. I Had Thought Of Asking My G.P. Or Pain Specialist, But I Forgot The Name Of This Therapy, Although Once In 2010 I Attempted To Describe To My Physiotherapist.

I wish I could have this procedure done instead of having bone fusion in my wrist. But I had torn the ligaments sometime back and didn't realize the extent of the damage and by the time I went to the doctor they said that the ligaments could not be repaired. Now. I have pain in my wrist because I move it quite a bit. No, I don't want to have this done but I don't seem to have a choice at this point. I've had several doctors look at the wrist X-rays and have all said the same thing. Bone fusion would be the only way I could handle this and take away the pain. When I would like to know is will I still be able to work? Also the hand that has the injury is my primary right hand that I use and how will that affect me.

I had partial wrist fusion- due to osteo arthritis in predominate right hand- where the arthritic carpal ( inner scaphoid) is removed and the center carpals are screwed together. The range of motion was no worse or better than before surgery but painful diseased arthritic carpal is gone, the joint is stable and no noticeable effect on function. Left wrist same issue but had arthroscopic scraping of scaphoid carpal and doctor severed the sensory nerves that transmit pain from the arthritic area.

Hi Scott, sorry to hear about your wrist- you've been through a lot. You could seek out someone who does comprehensive, Hackett-Hemwall and Stem Cell Prolotherapy. We have treated many patients after numerous unsuccessful surgeries, so your cause would not necessarily be out of the realm of Prolotherapy. You should contact the physician's office directly to discuss your case more in private. We would be happy to talk to you more, if you are looking for our opinion on your case.

I Can List The 3 Wrist Operation's I Have Had, If That Helps :) I Was Diagnosed With Mid Carpal Instability (MCI)/Palmar Midcarpal Instability (PMCI) In 2003, & It Was Likely Caused/Triggered To My Accident/Injury On: 13-10-2002 (I Had No Previous Wrist/Hand Problems Or Pain, Which Was Confirmed By My G.P. Notes From 1984-2002), I Have Been Verbally Told I Also Have RSD/CRPS Verbally In 2006 By My 2 Consultant NHS Orthopeadic Trauma Hand & Upper-Limb Surgeons, But The RSD/CRPS Was Hazy

I'm Having My 7th Pain Jab - Stellate Ganglion Block This Afternoon At: Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust In London Today At: 14:00 At Pain Clinic X-Ray 2 :) I Am Hoping To Ask Him If He Thinks I Could Benefit From: Prolotherapy, Hackett-Hemwall & Stem Cell Prolotherapy, Or Whether I'd Have To Get That Opinion From My Old Hand Specialist, G.P. Request, Or From A Physiotherapist Team, :)

Hi had an MRi scan and been diagnosed with degenerate tfcc tear, right wrist, with scapho-lunate ligament disruption and mild to moderate radio-lynate degenerative changes would prolotherapy help?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy 4 года назад
Hi Charlie, Based on the sliver of information, this sounds like the type of cases we help in our clinics. We would not solely rely on an MRI to make a medical determination. However, we would be happy to discuss your case in more detail and see if you sound like a good candidate. Feel free to reach out to us and discuss your case privately through our website, email, or phone. We'd love to help you get your function back and out of pain. Wish you all the best in health!

doctor I've had an MRI on my wrist I have two torn ligaments not totally torn but chronic degeneration in two ligaments I have my frayed disc in the center portion it's not torn but frayed and I have a torn meniscus I'm kind of thinking my orthopedic surgeon is going to tell me to get a fusion because I have ulner impact syndrome with 2 mm too long of a bone so even if I got Prolotherapy that wouldn't do anything for getting rid of my bone could you answer me back thank you

Hi David, Thanks for reaching out to us and sorry to hear about your torn ligaments in the wrist. We would be happy to review your MRI report and other details of your case privately. Prolotherapy is the treatment for torn ligaments and the alternative to surgery. Many patients have abnormalities of bones (spurs, etc) yet the pain is successfully resolved and function restored with Prolotherapy and surgery can be avoided. If surgery is a preferable option, our specialists would be able to tell upon exam. An examination from one of our specialists would be able to better identify the pain-causing structures and areas of instability better than static MRI and determine if the extra bone is an issue or primarily the ligaments, and then determine an individualized treatment program whether you were a better candidate for surgery or Prolotherapy. You can email us directly with your MRI report and more about your range of motion and current symptoms to info@caringmedical.com. Look forward to talking with you more that way. Take care for now.

Hi, I rock climb and use my wrists a lot. I have been suffering from chronic dislocation and the scaphoid is loose. In case of total rupture of ligament is prolotherapy still effective ? Even for a highly active person?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy 4 года назад
Hi Camilo, Sorry to hear about your wrist and the chronic dislocations. Dislocations occur because of loose ligament tissue and therefore, Prolotherapy is the treatment of choice. In many cases, especially if diagnosed only by MRI and not physical exam and ultrasound, a ligament may not be fully ruptured. If a ligament is completely torn then Prolotherapy could be done after surgery, but surgery would be necessary to reattach a completely torn, unattached tissue. However, in many cases, it is not fully torn, rather some or mostly torn. In these instances, Prolotherapy is the treatment of choice. We would be happy to review your case in more detail and see how we could help. You can contact us directly to discuss your case privately through our website, phone or info@caringmedical.com. Wish you all the best in healing!

Hi, diagnosed with scapholunate dissociation, it's been 3 years since, i have been living with that, although my doctor suggested surgery. But i was okay until now, its paining. Will PRP work. As I'm only 26 and active individual.

Hi SURAJ PREMNATH, Hope you can find a PRP Prolotherapy specialist who can do a physical exam and case review to determine if that would be a good alternative to surgery in your specific case. Ultimately, they would need to see you in person to determine that. If you would like our team to help you here in Florida, you can always feel free to reach out directly. We wish you all the best in healing and hope you get back to your activities pain-free asap!

Many Thanks For Taking The Time To Reply :) Sorry For Delay In My Reply, I Hardly Use RU-vid.Com & My Mental Health Can Become Bad & I Ignore/Take Time To Respond To Messages On RU-vid.Com. I'm Sadly From Uk & Not America, But Your Response Has Given Me Hope That Prolotherapy, Hackett-Hemwall & Stem Cell Prolotherapy, Could Still Work For My Mid Carpal Instability, Yet Not Sure If Its Available In The Uk's NHS In London Area :/ :)
