Alto saxophone mouthpiece test of:
Morgan Excalibur 6M
Theo Wanne New York Bros 2 7
Meyer 5M
Drake NY Jazz 6
Selmer C* Soloist
Jody Jazz DV 7
Jody Jazz HR* 6M
I am using a Yamaha 62 II and a Vandoren blue box size 3 reed during this test.

The Soloist has a certain sweetness to the sound, but I reckon a bigger tip opening would better suit you for additional projection. The Morgan was my favourite out of all of them

Nice little play test...I thought the Theo Wanne NY Bros 2 sounded the best here. I used to have a JJ HR* 6M but sold it because I thought it was too free blowing. Now I have a Morgan Jazz 5NY coming my way...

Soloist sounds less projecting than all. c* is much more closed compared to a jazz tip opening. All the medium chambers first four and Jody HR sound similar like straight ahead jazz. Maybe the Meyer is most muffled of that group. Jody DV sounds like you could take it to a funk gig for sure. Great comparison and good line up.

Hey, I have a NY Bros size 6 for alto and while ive only played a JJ on soprano, I really do love my NY Bros. Its like a combination of the vintage meyers and I really enjoy it. dont know if I helped you too much but thats my opinion on the NY Bros.

The brightest is the Jody Jazz DV, and then probably the Drake
