About a year ago alton towers announced that sw8 was being built and I was wondering what would the name be One year later it's called wicker man

I think it'd be really interesting to see prices of tickets alongside this if you could find them, it'd really give it some perspective:) great video as usual

Anyone else from 2020 and know the sw8 is wicker man. A very rickety wooden coaster

I love Alton but I have some criticisms: 1- Why would anyone want to go to the water park? Does anyone even do that or the golf? I don’t know where the hell the golf course is. 2- Instead of investing in unnecessary accommodation, they should invest in flat rides 3- more diversity in park eating areas. The burger kitchen’s cool but what if you want paninis or wraps or tacos or burritos? 4- Why did the flume have to be removed in order to have Wicker Man? I’d happily have it before SW8 was announced. 5- Why does Cebebies Land keep expanding when Cloud Cuckoo land is abandoned?

I had my first trip to Alton towers in October on the opening day of scarefest this year as a day out with my college. The first ride I went on was the battle gallions and there was just one boat with people on (me, friends, a woman and her two young children) because it was early. A man shot water at us from the path and I got soaked to the bone. At the end of the day me and my friends were sitting on a wall in Towers Street when all the other people were leaving, waiting for the other people in the college group to regroup and we saw a little boy steal a pumpkin. He ran up to catch up with his mum yelling “mummy mummy! I got a pumpkin!!!” And he refused to put it back so his mother had to. Wow nemesis opened 94 and is still one of the best rides in the uk in 2017

The first time I came here was for my gay uncle's EX-BF in 2022. - my uncle got a shout out on Capital (UK radio station) - i rarely went on any rides due to my extreme fear of heights. - My uncle got a Smiler cup and my mamar got a TH13TEEN cup - my uncle's EX-BF won like, 6 free drink tickets after winning an "Alton Towers Quiz" and a Rock-Paper-Scissors game - I got Maccies on the way home. That's it.

Why was there toyland tours music at the start

Hi something you missed about Oblivion: the park were trying to open the world's first flying coaster but technical setbacks and deadlines meant that B&M designed the vertical drop coaster with John Wardley and after Oblivion opened they returned to the flying coaster concept.

Oh the nostalgia. So many former rides that I loved, gone. One of them that I miss most is Black Hole. And despite how rough it ended up becoming, I loved Corkscrew too.

I really hope SW8 Sparks Alton Towers back up, it's been closing so many rides and needs that one big hit to push the rides back up, Hopefully SW8 Will help with that slight problem, because until this year Alton Towers was my Favourite theme park, but that belongs to Thorpe Park for now. One day I will return to this comment and smile

Brilliant video, thanks so much for taking the time to do this! Brings back loads of memories for me as been going there since I was a kid, looking forward to bringing my own kids soon to CBeebies Land. But will miss Ripsaw, never forget the endless rides on that as it was right next to Nemesis. Do any UK parks have one of these type of rides left I wonder? Would like to bring my son on one of those to share with him too.

Wow, this was literally the ultimate theme park history video ever made.

Great memories. I remember going in 1983. Me and my sister went with our beloved Nan on one of her work outings. We were blown away by the corkscrew!!. We thought only America had things like that!!!. I used to go back with friends after that for many more years. The corkscrew remained my favourite coaster. Even the bad press it started to get later in its life didn’t spoil the memories for me. I’m now close to my 50th birthday and I think if I went on a coaster now I’d be off work with my back for weeks😂😂
