ALTUM - ANGELS [2] 

Simon Forkel is one of the very few people who have been successful in breeding genuine Altum Angels. His tanks are populated with young fish from various locations. Several prizes and diplomas show that Forkel works highly professionally and very successfully. He knows what he is talking about! As Forkel himself says, the spawning is only the beginning - but nevertheless it is always exciting and appealing to be able to observe it happening.

I'm in love with angelfish especially altum. Currently i hv 7 in my 2.5ft tank. In future i will buy bigger tank with lots of angelfish.

ok so the young are acclimated to 7.5 pH but what about hardness and pH required for successful breeding raising of spawn?

Andreas I see you reply to comments, what do you use to keep ph and acidity low for the Angels? I cannot get my ph to stop fluctuating.

1:10...; pH meter starts from 6.7 going down to 6.6, 6.5... but what is the final measured pH level ?? I met a guy in belgium preparing his tanks for a new import of Altums...; He had his water on pH 3,8 !!!...But maybe it was because he just prepared his "turf"-filtration, releasing the most humic acids... What exact pH is measured in the wild ? Increadible that, after all, they are ajusted to a neutral pH after a while...
