A video and backstory of the descent & assent of Alum Pot via the North West route in 2017 Probably the first time a drone has been used in Alum Pot to capture the descent of this truly spectacular chasm in the Yorkshire Dales
Absolutely excellent video. I can't believe that I did this same trip about twenty years ago - probably the most awe inspiring (and largest) abseil and prusik that I have ever done. To see it on video really brings back memories. when you pass the Bridge, you realise that there is still a hell of a long way to go either up or down. Every other time I've gone via Dollytubs or Diccan.
What an incredible video! Everything is extremely technical and difficult but there is poetry in this film. I appreciate it a lot, especially because I am a rope access in life.
