Those are interesting findings about potato starch. I wondered why processors used potato starch to keep shredded cheese from sticking together. Now I know, and I'm a fan. I know you recommend avoiding dairy products. Someday, . . .maybe.
I'm the same way, but when I do a keto diet I get all kind of symptoms.. heart palpitations and frequent urination, no matter what diet I'm on I feel like crap with all kinds of symptoms.. life is shit
As a T2 diabetic, the research led me to vegan diets BUT I was always hungry. Now I eat eggs and low fat yoghurt along with some salmon, almonds, avocado and coconut milk and I'm no longer hungry. Chicken, beef and lamb really hurt my liver and kidneys so I've had to cut them out. I also get neuropathy in my legs with meat, sadly. If I had to have a label, I guess I'm a pescatarian!
I am a normal weight 28 year old woman who works out 6-7 times per week. Im not trying to loose weight or anything. Im trying to live a healthy life where I give my body the love and food that it needs. But even I have periods in my life when Im always hungry. Sometimes for a whole week sometimes for a few days. Even after eating a whole (big) plate of green lentil stew ( its a turkish dish with onion, olive oil, water and lentils) with a big salad next to it until I'm full i get hungry again after 15-30 minutes. So hungry that I feel starving. I've been trying to figure out if it is the type of food that I eat or if it is that I've burned more than I've eaten that day. Im not sure really. I would be so happy for response. Thank you for this page!
I had similar prob and turns out I had a microscopic parasite, check with your doctor, but most doctors don’t know much about parasites, it’s something to considered.
is eating 10 000 kcal everyday for 20 days after eating disorder normal? Im eating normal food , healthy dinners, vegetables, bread, ham , meat , no processed food fast food etc
Zuza Stella you would have to eat incredible amounts of pasta and bread to get even close to 5k, let alone 10. we're talking about kilos of food every day here. are you 100% sure you're adding up the right numbers? PS I am completely unknowledgeable about eating disorders, I was just curious, it does sound very very unusual to me
+Maher Baba yes i am :( im a mix of orthorexia anorexia bulimia binge eating borderline etc its a lil rude but i get it its not normal so how someon who dont know much about ed would understand if u r curious just try to find some articles about extreme hunger ;)
@@hutsu3674 Yes that is hot lol. You should definitely be proud of it. Many tall guys like like tall girls but small guys tend to avoid them cause they feel insecure around them.
+Ba X I would say, eat whole foods. Fruits, Vegetables, Potatoes, Rice, Beans and Grains in there natural form, and every bit of nutrition our body requires will be supplied. Including, oil. After all, where do processed vegetable oils come from, a whole food. So why not just eat the whole food.
@@lillytwo they don't come from vegetables thats for sure! they're seed & grain "oils"! Modern PUFAs and the amounts we consume today is unnatural & sick! We need to get back to what we eat before like Dr Weston A Price's research showed even in the 1930's!
@@lillytwo I agree with you, what worked for me for weight loss was a plant-based low fat, high starch diet (around 10-15% calories from fat max) with mostly vegetables and a bit of fruit, and cutting out meat and dairy (I also would have bread and pasta, although I'm starting to think I may have a mild gluten sensitivity, which would explain some things for me personally). I also stuck to around 2000 calories per day and always felt full. I think Mark is half right, in the sense that high carbs spike insulin, but it's the fat in the high carb meal that then gets stored as fat under those conditions (with probably the exception of processed sugar/high-fructose corn syrup which get converted into fat in the liver in a way that's unhindered compared to eating fruit, for instance). By contrast, a keto-style diet works for weight loss by using the fat consumed and stored in your body as your primary source of energy, instead of carbs which the body normally prefers, since for many people, it takes very little carbs to knock them out of ketosis entirely. The breakfast of champions he mentioned, for instance, is actually not normally low-fat, since it usually contains bacon/sausage and eggs with bread/potatoes, so it's actually probably around a 25-35% fat diet minimum in many cases, which a lot of "junk food" also happens to fall into. IMO the breakfast of champions is properly called such precisely because it promotes weight gain, i.e. muscle repair and tissue growth with its optimal macro ratios, which is important for any active, in-shape person. On the other hand, he's spot on about other points he makes like inflammation due to food sensitivities, genetic disorders like celiac's, heavy metals/toxins (which he experienced first hand), genetics in general playing a role, the microbiome's effect, etc. which can cause a host of problems, including weight gain or a higher base weight. For instance, we know that lab rats exposed to more antibiotics have a less diverse microbiome and gain more weight from an increasingly higher fat diet, so it's not hard to extrapolate from there that there are people with a similar problem that's no fault of their own. The same goes for people who have genetics that hinder their ability to naturally detox when they eat a lot of fruits/vegetables/etc. with high levels of antioxidants and chelators, etc. I'm sure there are also many of us who actually know people who went on medications who suddenly gained a large amount of weight that they never had their entire lives, and the only thing that changed was that they're now taking a pill or receiving an injection. There's obviously a lot more to it, but I'm just pointing out that I'm not a hater, I think he's excellent and the stuff they're doing where he works is on the cutting edge of medicine imo.
This I know, the more one eats, the bigger the stomach becomes. It stretches! Once stretched, if not FULL, it feels empty ... and wants to be filled up ... and sends messages to the brain that you're hungry. It's one reason why some folks can eat a ton of food, and actually feel hungry again shortly afterward. The stomach sends a message to the brain that, "Hey, there's a little more room here ... not quite full yet! Best solution to this problem .. DRINK WATER. It will fill up that "empty" feeling, and you wil NOT gain weight. Actually, you will lose weight. Blessings! :)
MessiahYeshua is Lord! I like your name I have a question though, Do you mean drinking water with the meal or in between meals ? In a faster state I just drank water with the food that I ate and am still not satisfied though my stomach feels bloated and distended...
this is me.....i eat pasta...salad & than in 1hour im HUNGRY..WTF?!! im constantly eating&never satisfied with food..& NO im not OBESE..but...i should be losing about 10pounds..
100% agree! At 50 years old my doc told me I had signs of insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and on my way to Type 2 Diabetes. We looked at my diet. Relatively healthy by her standards. I was hungry all the time and had no idea how I'd find the willpower to eat less. On my daughter's suggestion I added healthy fats back into my diet as well as shunned and/or severly limited sugar, starch, and chemicals. 50 pounds down at 50 years old - eating foods that I enjoy. Now I'm 52 and at my happy weight of 70 pounds down. I'm happy. Doc's happy. Daughter's happy (she lost 55 pounds eating the same way). :)
Your tummy grows according to how much we feed it , it's in our hands , we buy the food , cook & feed ourselves with it ,it's our own fault but child hood trama can greatly effect diet or lack there of ,
I am never hungry since on ketogenic diet. Eating once a day is completely normal for me without thinking about that. My diet consists mainly of a lot of vegetables, eggs, wild fish, and occasionaly goat cheese and nuts/seeds. As a concentrated fats I use: coconut oil, butter, olive oil, avocado oil and a lard when I can find a quality one..
i can tell you that I've always had issues with my cholestrol. About a year ago I gave up margerine and started using butter instead. Now my cholestrol is perfect. Now if I can just figure out the prediabetes thing lol
Incorporating healthy fats in my meals sustain me. Avocado, olives, nuts, seeds, nut butters. I literally do not snack. Mark Hyman, MD is extremely knowledgeable. I follow his guidelines and my hunger is satiated. :)
My father was right...when checking out a girl for marriage, always check out the mother too. "Body weight is more controlled by our biology, than willpower"
I tend to disagree with your thought. I think that weight gain and weight lost is learned. The only way that weight is not controllable is if you have a hypothyroid condition. Weight is dictated by hormonenal levels as well as diet. People want a wuick fix and if you neglect your body for a long time it will take twice as long to gain control. One of the biggest problems with diet and weight gain is education.
I find your statement strange. It is all about eating Whole Foods and exercise. So a woman should size up her potential husbands father before considering marriage? according to your views.
Gary Taubes was putting forth this thesis, concerning how insulin is the primary culprit behind our collective weight gain and rapacious hunger, for almost a decade. For most of that decade he has been criticized by the medical establishment. Its nice to see that doctors are slowly getting on board with this.
I'm wondering if my brother has a tapeworm or other parasite in his stomach. He is always hungry. Sometimes even less than 20 minutes after eating a full meal. He's pretty skinny and doesn't gain lots of weight despite little physical activity and eating almost 7 times a day. He's been like this for years and still he's pretty skinny/fit. Is this just a superhuman metabolism?
JD JP super human metabolism, if he had a tape worm there would be other symptoms than just being hungry. I am going through the same thing. If he is a young teen, it's normal. He just needs to eat more than others because his metabolism is always breaking down the calories.
@@noahgettings1861 im going through this problem now, i don't have time to just eat all the time.. I'm hungry now but I just had 2 big meals back to back
I tried adding fats and reducing carbs. I ended up having fatty liver. I couldn't digest the fat I ate. My hair started to fall out. My skin became drier😢
Wear a waist trainer or neoprene waist wrap.. 30 minutes BEFORE a meal. Eat quality proteins and vegetables. Stay away from foods that require your body to release insulin.. Avoid Foods like pasta, bread and muffins, cookies, cake etc. Etc. The waist trainers act like the Gastric sleve surgery putting pressure on the fullness receptors. Only eat 2 or 3 small meals a day..include 1/8. Cup nuts. NO snacking. It takes months of small meals for the stomach to shrink down to Its original size. That's why don't ever eat a big meal again, you'll stretch it back out again. After while you will naturally feel full with small meals.
Geez, could have changed my life 7 years ago...oh well. Never too late to start. It's Nov 2023 and I need to something about my weight. This seems like the right approach. Cutting Calories is not working at all.
We all need to be nutritionists in this day and age, unless a person wants to live in the boonies in a 3rd world country or something, or lives in the western world and is ok with being really chubby, etc...
high protein and fat diets raise your homocysteines The causes heart disease and cancer ....all vegetable oils and avocados ,dairy ...fat is fat !....Fat makes your blood thick and kills your liver gives you heart disease . Bacteria and virus travel in the blood by hopping a ride in the fat you have in the blood .....less fat in your blood better circulation ...I eat a vegetarian diet with no fat and no oil !....my blood has no fat !..clean ! I donate blood to the Red cross and I fill the blood bag faster than anyone! the less you eat the less insulin and you lose weight . go eat your shit keto B.S. diet ! fukkk your fat , fukk your high protein ! cause high levels of homocysteines ....>> HEART DISEASE ! -
He's so blunt, but how can you argue? I have lost. 26 lbs, not because I was going for that, but because I was tired of feeling like crap! Please listen to this man! I promise if your will follow his plan(no cheating) you will feel like a whole new person. I'm 63 and finally feel like a 40 year old. Can't cost anything to try but six weeks

One thing i don't understand is that there are high carb low fat diet people thriving as well. There are plenty of people who went on a higher fat paleo diet who returned to a higher carb diet because of difficulty. There are also people who were vegan and have returned to eating some animal protein. A lot of doctors claim a particular diet is the solution but not a lot of them talk about strengthening and cleansing of the various organs and glands (liver, kidneys, colon, adrenals) so we can digest the carbs fats and protein properly. Maybe if our bodies were working correctly and we are able to break down, absorb, assimilate and eliminate all macronutrients we wouldn't have to worry so much about how much fat or how much carbs etc. Also If you look at the world the only higher fat food sources are meat, avacado, coconut, olives, butter, milk and durian. Yes you can flavour these things in different ways but not exactly an abundance of choices. There seems to be many more sources of carbohydrates available in nature. Is that for a reason or just for fun! Sticking with wholefoods is a good first step for anyone!
The truth is found in whether or not the doctors are promoting supplements. If they are, then they should not be trusted. All they want is your money. The high carb low fat doctors don't. They are the ones to follow. It's a simple test.
I get it that fats are actually good and carbs are bad. But how do I do this without going keto. That’s to extreme for me. Also I can’t stand eating vegetables
Proverbs 13:25 says a righteous man eats until his heart's content or eats enough to satisfy his appetite. ... He wants us to eat until our heart's content, until our bellies are satisfied and full. god is always right on everything we totaly agree with what your saying you can learn a lot from the bible. if you would only believe it come to Christ as your savior he tells the truth.
I have combatted my hunger pains. I have learned that sugar increases hunger and so does alcohol. And Weed. But intermittent fasting is the best way to not get hungry.
+SavedSinner71 And don't forget dairy products :) I understand how you feel, I like them also, but since going vegan my taste buds have changed to ooooo so delightful clean food. Sinus problems gone, brain fog gone, low blood sugar gone... it is amazing. I just looked at the documentary 'earthlings' and became instant vegan for life. Mannnn, why did it take me so many years to understand.
Don't fool yourselves. All you need to do to feel normal and full between the 3 meals is to eat and drink that comes from soil or animals, without getting packaged or processed. That is, avoid ALL, I mean ALL fast foods, icecream, desserts, sweets, sodas, energy drinks, etc. Eat bread, rice, fruit, veggies, and so stewed, baked, boiled, sauteed, grilled. Then, you'll see that you are a true human, eating like a human. YET, even if you are eating this kind of healthy foods, you are spoiling it all just by ending up with having an icecream or doughnut, no matter how small the portion is. Just like cigrettes, you either smoke to face the consequences, or quit it all at once! No other solution.
It's not the dying that's the problem, it's the suffering up until then. I'd like to not lose my feet to diabetes, or my ability remember my own name from a stroke.
@@violetseven4485 hey.. I made this comment 2 years ago, I don't even remember posting this.. But recently my cousin died of congestive heart failure.. He suffered a lot with his eating disorder, I honestly feel bad about making this comment as it was just supposed to be a "funny" Thing but now it's sad about what I said so I apologize
is there like a vitamin deficiency disorder or something because I'm always really fucking hungry and even when I eat a shit ton I don't gain any weight/body fat
I thought that Dr Mark Hyman is against dairy products (but in 5:23 he said we should eat dairy). He mentioned in one of his videos that we should avoid dairy at all costs . can anyone explain this contradictory?
A few years ago I weighed 280 pounds and started a diet and exercise regiment after I ripped a pair of pants getting into the car. I lost 80 pounds, and as I lost weight my appetite decreased. I started wanting real food instead of bread, energy drinks, and fast food all the time. The theory that fat makes us crave carbs can be considered law in my view. Thanks for another great video Dr. Hyman.
In the book he is praising is calling out a high fat diet, and use of dairy and cremes. His other videos he slams dairy as being the worst thing to eat., All this guy does is change his recommendation based on what direction the wind is blowing / what book is selling best that day.
I weigh 110lbs and I'm always hungry. I think my metabolism is too fast. People always told me it would change with time, but I'm 30 already and I've seen no change.
i'm diabetic i am always so very hungry even when i go off my diet to just really eat i am still so hungry it drives me crazy. i want to know it this would be safe for a diabetic to try?
Here's where I'm at... I know veggies are healthy for me. I just don't always have the motivation to eat them. I know beans are healthy for me. Again, I don't always have the motivation to eat them. I know seeds are healthy for me. I just don't always have the motivation to eat them. I know nuts are healthy for me. But they are more expensive, somewhat. However, I need little motivation to eat them. They are filling. I know fruit is healthy for me, AND its tasty, and often fairly cheap. I don't need much motivation to eat fruit, esp. if it is higher quality. I know grains are a mixed bag. On occasion, I'll be in the mood for pasta or bread, but I tend to still go more the potato route here, or maybe rice... I don't consume dairy, except for small amounts of ice cream and butter, esp. grass-fed butter. I eat eggs, fish, poultry, and all meats except for pork/bacon. I know this stuff is healthy for me, but not in large amounts. And it can get pretty expensive... Then we have junk food... Well, I can't say I NEVER eat this stuff, even largely sticking more to the healthier junk food like dark chocolate, etc., but I have decided to not eat licorice. Junk food is cheap-er, somewhat. And most people I know eat more junk food than I do. Fruit juice and soda to a lesser extent are still rather tempting, esp. fruit juice. So I try to go shopping at healthier grocery stores, that are more ethical, etc. as well. But they are pretty darn expensive, unless you REALLY discipline yourself, or you just go vegetarian or something... And despite all these efforts, I still have to deal with people around me who are more unhealthy in some form or another. It's really kind of annoying, because you discipline yourself to not eat junk food, and a roommate has a ton of junk food that he is sharing... 🤷♂️ And this, most ALL of this, is what we continually have to contend with, Dr. Hyman... Its really, really frustrating at times...
I tried a high fat diet for a while, as a vegan I ate 3-4 avokados a day because I had nothing else to take to university. But sometimes I couldnt sleep at night because my body starved for carbs. Than I ate sweetpotatoes. But after a while I gained weight.
I need help so my sleeping schedule is all messed up waking up in the after noon and there's days I I'm so hungry when I eat and finish eating I get hungry more in like 30 mind I try to so full but still more hungrier feel like I'm going thru a crisis help.
