This way is easier for me then using a sim card cutter, just use your regular household appliances and *BOOM* done.

Hmm actually You got right, if the store is near there is no sense with having fun with scissors. I guess this depends on personal case. Anyway, about cutting - I cut two cards, operators (two different) are not so near so I made this decision. And card won't damage untill You cut this gold-shiny part, because chip is only under that. But Yeah if the operator would be near and do it for free I wouldn't even thinking about cutting sim :) Cheers!

You can just get a microsim cutting tool,which is really cheap!

ugh ..my fathers Iphone 5 uses nanosim which is smaller than other regular sim cards. :/ and i wanted to trade my phone for his since my phone was a problematic kind.. and my phone requires bigger sim card or else his nanosim can get trapped in my phone.. ugh..

Well done presentation BUT... Um, I bought the sim card cutter. It looks like a stapler. Slip the sim card in. Push down on it like a stapler. WaLa done. Cost = $8.00. I've cut many for $5.00 ea. Total cost? NOTHING... Made a profit and had fun doing it. Lol, just think $5.00 for every push of my sim card cutter. DON'T try to cut it with a template and scissors. It can be costly!!!

Cutting sim = 20 min max - I did that. Visiting phone store - a lot of running in the city, driving car and my operator takes 20$ - no thanks!

in the real world its a rusty old file, in the internet it becomes a SUPER EPIC PRO FILE, not for noobs obviously

it did´t fit, wrong size!!!! they cut the video before inserting it to the phone.....THATS BAD!!!!!!

If you're able to get it done at your carrier's store free of charge, I don't see any reason you would want to do it yourself...
