I’ve killed two kindles at the beach now (pool not ocean). After the second I realized that salt water is WAY worse than fresh water. (the pools at the beach use salt water instead of chlorine). The kindle will survive for quite a while in fresh water but only seconds in salt water. Gonna invest in one of those waterproof pouches next.
Yes, but you end up just turning pages back and forth instead of actually progressing. Touching the right and sweeping to the left actually activates BOTH functions moving you first one page forward then turning back to the original page. I tried it. It doesn't work and so it's not cool because it makes no sense.
In amazon's commercials they showcase people sitting in the pool, reading from their paperwhites.. You'd think that with this sort of advertising, they would try to make it at least semi-waterproof.
I did, I bought it 2 years ago and I prefer it to paper books. It's lighter, I can read it in the dark, and books are way cheaper. Not to mention it's environmentally friendly.
