She is world class in every sense. A leader and a champion for so many causes. I love hearing her speak even more than I love watching her gymnastics (which is a lot :) )
Aly Raisman is the US's most underrated gymnasts. She has 6 Olympic medals (7 if they didn't have tie breakers). Only 1 less than what Simone Biles and Shannon Miller currently have.
I adore Aly Raisman, for so many reasons. Such a beautiful and articulate woman. One of my all time favourite gymnasts and when I met her in Glasgow in 2015, despite being in my 30’s the little girl inside me got so excited!
This was a solid interview between Kathy Kay, a quality reporter and a gymnastics phenom, Aly Raisman, 6 x medallist over 2 olympics. Substance, depth and emotion intertwine in compelling dialogue of the athletic journey of this exceptional woman and life after the Olympics. Thanks for sharing.
I love her so much, as a an elite gymnast and as a person. She’s very eloquent with her words and always has that so very positive aura about her. I so can see her be in the top position/board of organizations overseeing USA’s Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.. I can see her be such an amazing leader. Also, I love this interviewer, she lets Aly get all her answers out, it’s so lovely seeing her talk about her 2012 Olympics experience, you can see her reliving the memory as she’s describing it. ❤❤❤❤❤
I love Aly! Shes 1 of the best Olympic gymnasts ever! But shes also so poised, graceful, mature, intelligent, honest, sincere, positive, & well spoken. She reminds me of Queen Elizabeth because she was so diplomatic. She never got involved with politics or drama. In any way and I think people respect her for that.
She is so gorgeous & dignified. I know the issues she has with USA gymnastics, but I would love for her to take a leadership role for USA gymnastics. Reallly big fan of hers
As one of millions of sexual abuse survivors myself, it please my soul so much to see people being so open about their own experiences. Trauma is such a difficult thing and I'm so glad their is so much more understanding these days!
Aly was so gracious in the way she spoke about it, but it seems like that is a huge weight to put on a stranger immediately upon meeting - especially for somebody who likely deals with ptsd I can only imagine how stressful it must be to know that at any moment when you’re in public some random person can spring that on you and bring back those memories so suddenly. I hope people can understand that is a lot for one person to handle and instead deal with these challenges in the appropriate channels and with drs/therapists who are qualified and fully equipped to help them through it.
Awww she’s such an OG. I watched her documentary Going for Gold and what an amazing lovely person she was just came across so clearly. She’s always been such an inspiration. katty K is a great journalist as well! Love your new American politics podcast Katty!
Thanks so much for speaking on PTSD, Aly!! Specifically PTSD and trauma. We know that trauma can lead to post-traumatic stress disorder, but not everyone that's experienced trauma develops PTSD. The 'POST-traumatic' part is the one people forget, and usually where all the painful but necessary healing happens....for months, years at a time - everyone is different like she says! Being widely known means she's likely triggered constantly. So glad she's got a good therapist.
Aly you are a very special person and I think the Olympics are just a small part of what you have to offer the world. Keep being you and you will continue to change the world for the better.
I knew it wasn’t a hard decision for her to walk away from gymnastics and I’m so glad for that! She proved you can come back better and stronger and walk away with peace ❤ Also Gymnastics is so so lucky to have her advocating for the sport
What an incredible interview this is, a insight into the life of an amazing Olympian performing and life after. Thank you Aly for what you have given to the sport of Gymnastics
I truly believe that if Ali was never abused and the sport now has changed so much as far as keeping our athletes healthy, both physically and mentally, I think if things were different, then she would not have retired. I think she would made it until the tokyo olympics
Walk In the Strong Beauty you exemplify! As a young school gymnast, a dancer, survivor, and Dance educator; as a teacher, and mother I believe in the power of owning your life as a human being! I respect your articulate spirit. You are a thoroughbred - a whole marvel of a woman! You Be You!
Wonderful interview! Aly is still the classiest lady that gymnastics has ever known. Always well spoken, always gorgeous looking. She still makes this huge impression on me. Way to go,Aly, and i wish you all the best in life !👍👍😍
Aly made me realize I was being a bused. I made a video about my story on my youtube and have also gotten comments from people much older saying this is the first time they are opening up after watching my story.
Another Olympics is quick on the horizon. This interview with an American gymnastics medalist me just shift our childhood, young adulthood fantasies into a shift of perspective .
I only saw the end of this interview - And it was well-answered IMHO. 10 minutes or so. I don't appreciate saying "well done!" at the end by Katty Kay (I think that's her name), since she knows better. Whatever the case of the interview.
Yes, there is more to life than winning medals. You are not your job title, it is what you do to help others in the world that matters and you don't need to be famous to have a platform.
Hot aly...only if you want to gold, one more time, you can, you can do it, and I want you to, also. You have it, in you. But if you don't want to, I also don't want you to. I have spoken.😎 🇺🇸🗽❤️🇺🇸💙🇮🇱 Never through any money, person, physical item/s, pastor, rabbi, pope, church, or religion, but only through one-on-one personal conscious-choice direct faith... This is one's only hope ever: See Romans 10:9-13 and 1 Cor.15:3,4 and Psalm 22:16 & Isaiah chpt.53 (even in the Jewish bible). After salvation see Matt.10:28 and Mark 12:30,31 auth.kjv bible only.
Damn she's so gorgeous, no wonder why Dr. Nasar couldn't control himself on her. Proof that God is the best artist out there. Lucky fella that gets to date her & play with her hot body
Abuse is about power, not desire. Nassar abused many gymnasts who weren't as beautiful as Aly. And her sex life , imagined or real, is none of your damned business.
