Alyssa Hankey - "They Used to Make Things Here" || Wallflower Wanderer 

Today we are revisiting an incredible shoot day with the very talented Alyssa Hankey, out at the Sky Stage in Frederick, MD. Alyssa's album "Northerner" has been out for about a year now, and it's still one of our favorites that we come back to all the time. Make sure to check it out if you haven't already! We're excited to share this second performance with you, Alyssa performing her song "They Used to Make Things Here".
Here's some words from Alyssa about what inspired her to write this piece:
"The song came title from a film I saw called ‘Last Flag Flying’. There’s a scene in the film, where the characters drive past an abandoned factory building and one of them mutters, ‘You can tell they used to make things here.’ That phrase stuck with me. It seemed to reflect the area I’m from and my generation. We are told stories growing up about how it used to be - about how we used to build things and prosper. But I think, for the most part, my generation is just left with the remains of that world."
