You learned kung-fu for 3 years at Shaolin Temple, trained and performed there during the last year as a Shaolin Warrior-Monk, and your fellows called you a Shaolin Warrior-Monk. You might not have a business certificate, but you are proudly a Shaolin Warrior Monk!

@@ballooneater2510 3 years of constant, grueling training is enough, if someone who was there called him one, who are you, some random, to say he's not
Shaolin Disciple - Guy with a Certificate Shaolin Warrior - Guy that kicks arse Shaolin Monk - Can still kick arse but probably had spiritual enlightenment and if he really kicks your arse. You more than lightly deserve it.
Forget about technicalities and “officials”... you were there for 3 YEARS training literally everyday as a Shaolin Warrior Monk. I honestly think you should call yourself as such! Much love, brother
We don't know if 3 years it's too much or even enought to be called a Shalin Warrior Monk. Maybe they have to train for decades to become a complete Shaolin Warrior Monk
He explained in a previous video that you don't need decades to become officially a master because they train 7hrs a day, 6 days a week. So only a few years would be enough
@@Quaporu it goes back to what he said. Someone who has been training 8 hours a day every day of the week for a year or two could be as good as someone who has been training 1 hour a day for a couple days a week for 10 years.
Although it would be nice to call him that, it would kind of not disrespect the temple. I don't know the word, but it's just traditional that if you leave, then you are a disciple, even though he trained as one, he left so he's a disciple. But if he stayed at the temple then he'd definitely be identified as a warrior monk, but yes we can still call him that to show him love for his endurance and effort for training for three years.
Love the seamless description! You made it incredibly easy for me to understand the discipline and motivation needed to spend 3 years of your life, OFFICIALLY or UNOFFICIALLY, as a Warrior Monk.
If the Warrior-Monks recognized you as one of their own then that's how I see you. Paper is commodity not a skill-set. I am a software developer and never set foot in a college classroom. Many who have Computer Science degrees though couldn't program their way out of a wet paper bag.
To be fair, I'd be pretty impressed if someone could use programming in a virtual environment to escape from a bag in the physical world, state of dampness nonwithstanding.
For real, the CPU on a wet paper bag is ancient, and the interface is non-existent. Programming your way out of a wet paper bag shows a deep understanding of the true nature of reality, and if fairly impressive. Of course, it's just another Tuesday for me. Seriously, why do I always end up in a wet paper bag on Tuesday?

Thanks. So do you think that when some people say I "m abrupt. It could be my German blood? It's a lot worse in the southern states. In also an Aquarius. I"m only half kidding here. lol.
I remember I once trained under a Japanese sushi chef. My friend knew I worked in the Japanese restaurant. Whenever we had a friends gathering, he told everyone that I was a Japanese sushi chef. But my teacher took him years to become a Japanese sushi chef so I was so uncomfortable to be called a chef. I had corrected the "title" several times, like disciple, trainee, "worked for a few years", so far never once able to meet anyone's satisfaction and mine.
If this racist I'm sorry but at the start of your comment after reading that you trained under a Japanese sushi chef, I automatically assumed you were training martial arts under the chef. I even thought when your friend introduced you as a chef you felt guilty because they didn't know you were training martial arts and the chef thing was a front for your secret training
For the TL;DR people: He's officially a Shaolin Disciple, but everything he did and identifies himself the most with are the Shaolin Warrior Monks. It's like your job description. They brand you as something but you know you identify and do mostly of the jobs from another job description, so you just say you do that.
Pff this guy just went to visit shaolin temple and get a little training and now he wants that people identify him as a "shaoling warrior monk" to boost his ego. Hes far from buddhist monk
@@lleewi99 jeeezz have you seen the video? He never was buddhist monk and didnt train wirh buddhist monk. He trained wirh warrior monks. And if you think that 3 years of shaolin torture is not much, do your research, they train every hour, EVERY FUCKING DAY.
Just saw this second video of you after seeing the one on BBC Documentary and it's nice to hear someone make it clear about what he really did, not just bumping his views for money. Was nice to hear more about a war-monk shaolin disciple and as an ex student of kung fu named siu-lam hung gar, i've seen many trainers and agree that they're some that aren't good ones sadly.. Have a great day Ranton !
Your game reviews are a little over the top for me, HOWEVER, your Shaolin information and your life being there for 3 years and what it's like is amazing. 🖤
I like how humble you are and you don’t try and talk up everything which I completely relate to in something else. There’s no need to blurt out about what goes on there because it’s special to you and only true people who want to practice that should know all the details
Vagina Crusher Certainly not, no... Thats from a scene of "Schindlers Liste", dont ask me for the actor... I dont know if people living somewhere else than germany still know of that one. A Spielberg from 20-30 years ago........
Subscribed. You're helping me with understanding where I want to go in my martial arts journey. Thank you for your honesty. A piece of paper is a piece of paper. Your experiences and what you took from them are your true credentials. Thank you so much.
@ dude he did what the others did to get a certificate to be able to open a damn Dojo in a western country because they demand papers even for peeoing in a toilet stall ... not to mention the public bathroom
@@notoriousbig3k he's talking about the fact that many disciples go in and walk out almost instantly vs him who trained for years and years none stop. I understand completely how he feels. I studied Tae Kwon Doe for over 15 years, and am a proper black belt, but I can never use that word publicly because so many dojos literally just sell black belts to toddlers. The title and reputation of being a TKD black belt has been long ruined, and not a single person takes it seriously. For this exact reason I call myself a "fighter" for I want to avoid the pure stigma that comes with TKDs shitty rep
The basic idea is that Shaolin basically *sells* disciple status and it's the certificate that he got... So he doesn't feel like it represents everything of his time in Shaolin.
@@BinuJasim I think it sounds cool hell i'd read a story about a shaolin dropout. don't tell me that "Shaolin Dropout" doesn't sound like an anime title.
Just be yourself and as far as most people are concerned you were there for 3 years, living & being a monk. Your being honest and straight forward in your posts so, from what I can see that's what people love about your posts, personally I really enjoy your posts, they have a great mix of information, your personal experience but most of all you have a great sense of humor. Keep the posts coming and remember, there's far more followers that like your work then don't so keep your good work up, Merry Christmas from Bruce of brucesbit, Cheers...
I just watched my first video of yours and already noticed how you said "Hallo" in the beginning and your accent. I wasn't sure tho but now I know😂 fellow Austrian/American/Korean here
Off topic, you say gangster and I get it with context. The other part of my brain goes " Ain't nothing but a gangster party." Lmao. Two different gangsters.
For many outsiders, when we hear the term "Shaolin Monk" they invasion people who grew up in the monastery, from young children, into adulthood... basically spending/devoting most of their lives there. You seem like a cool guy and three years is probably more than most adults could put up with, but three years is only three years. I'm glad you "came clean" and refer to yourself as a disciple, even though you don't like that term. Disciple basically means student, or to some people follower. You definitely know more than the average Joe, like me. Thanks for the interesting videos and honesty.
I love your videos and your honest expression. I have trained in two styles of Korean martial arts over the past 23+ years (Tae Kwon Do and Sin Mu Hapkido). I have traveled twice to China and four times to S. Korea and I love both cultures. I have a huge respect for all true martial arts and students who have seriously studied any style or multiple styles. Conversely I have a huge lack of respect (bordering on anger) at the "wanna be fakes" who have never done the thousands of hours of sweating and training it takes to earn any advanced degree of knowledge in any style of martial arts. After my first four years of training I was asked by the Grandmaster I studied under to test for my 1st degree black belt. I felt so unworthy of the honor but I trained even harder to prepare myself for that day. My test went well but after the test with my new black belt in hand, I remember sitting in the changing room with an overwhelming feeling of not being worthy of this honor. When the senior Master instructor came in he sensed I had questions. I told him my feelings. He asked me if I thought the Grandmaster was an truly honest man, I said yes. Then he said , if the Grandmaster says you are a black belt, then you are a black belt and the other higher degree belts also feel the same. The point is, if the true Shaolin Warriors you trained with recognized you as one of them, then you are a Shaolin Warrior. A certificate or a colored belt or any other object cannot replace the respect of your peers. It's something I have learned to embrace. Thank you again for your videos and your honesty.
Thank you for your videos! I've heard talk about the Shaolin Temple that was unfavorable. You have clarified the situation. I would love to train on the warrior-monk side, but I am more interested in the monk side. I would turn down no understanding at the temple. I am ever a student of the language of animals, and animals love me.
It's Okay Ranton, to me you are a Shaolin Warrior Monk because you went through the journey and your peers accepted you as such. Anybody who understands your channel will accept that you aren't some poser/liar.
As someone who's trained on and off for 10 years at different schools I know exactly where he's coming from. I have unofficial high ranks in several arts but they are "in-house" designations and mean nothing to national or international organizations.
Your explanation is great. Very informative and honest, also humble. The best way to describe you, for me anyways, is simply a great guy. A certificate cant be proof of the person you are inside.
So is like... Shaolin Monk= Jedi Master Shaolin Warrior= Jedi Knight Shaolin disciple= Padawan And you are like an Anakin that he trained and went to missions with jedis just except that you "officially" weren't named a jedi. Pd: Yes i hate star wars 😅
aa Anakin was named Jedi Knight during the mid of the driod war so during episode 3 he was a Knight and he had a desciple witch in the movie did not appeared but was mentioned once lol and nobody knew what she was if human or alien ... lol Asohka btw
notoriousbig3k Yeah i know thats why i said that the difference is that ranton wasnt named officially a warrior monk(jedi knight) while anakin yes, btw i didnt know that in the movie ahsoka was named, in what part? In the dub that i see the movie at least it didnt appear that
Thanks for your honesty and your humbleness. Like other people here, I still see you as a real Shaolin Warrior Monk. Especially if you have experienced the real thing. Sad to hear that even with this beautiful culture a lot of people can easily get a paper while not having that much experience. This reminds me of how there are also a lot of fake personal trainers in the fitness industry who don't have any real passion for training at all.
