Of course it is surprising! East Asian, Siberian and Native American ppl tend to have straight hair… She’s beautiful but you don’t need to make a nonsense affirmation in order to impress her or wtv (from a 3A)!
@@zlumi428 tbh that’s your norm so it’s not surprising for you but for many people it is. I’m American and from my perspective an Asian person with curly hair (not wavy) is pretty surprising and cool. 100 percent of the Asians and white people I know and see have bone straight hair or wavy hair. Only the black and mixed people I know have curly or coily hair so it’s really interesting and surprising to me.
I’m so glad I found you. I live in the US, born in Korea. I did a DNA test because of my curly hair and found out that I am only East Asian as well. Love your videos. Fighting!
Thank you for English captions. You are a beautiful ambassador for curly hair. The fact that curly hair is not prominent in your ancestry means you are that more special. Keep up the great videos and thank you for showing everyone to love what they are gifted with.
East asian some are known to have wavy hair. If two east asian who have wavy/curly hair, get together and marry, their daughter/son will eithet have wavy hair too, or most likely very curly hair.
It must have been so hard for you to manage your hair growing up. I'm Latin American so curls aren't unique but straight hair was the norm and what looked "pretty". It was only until my 20s that I finally started accepting and properly caring for my curls. I'm lucky that there are so many resources now a days for us curly girls.
Im latin american too, from my mothers side. Fortunately I grew up in the states in a diverse area and with a lot of family members who where either black or had curly hair but when I went to visit my family in Puerto rico for the first time I met my cousin who also had curls like mine. I originally came with braids in my hair but halfway through the visit i took them out and when she saw my natural curls she lit up with happiness and shock and said “wow you have hair like mine.” im glad i was able to be apart of that experience for her 💗
I'm a Pacific Islander from Fiji with the same hair type and love watching your videos of how to manage, style and take care of curly hair. They're so informative and helpful. Keep up the good work and your curls look amazing. 🤩😍❤
Hi, your hair is beautiful. Thank you for the English subtitles. Am from Mauritius, I came across your videos and they helped me not to give up on my curly hair! Thank you🙂
You've got lovely curly hair! People are probably curious because most Koreans hide their natural curly hair...they straighten it. I've seen pictures/videos of Koreans and their hair is 4c or 3c, quite afro....and no, it's not permed Carry on embracing your beautiful hair❣️
You don’t actually have to prove yourself to people who you really are. I’m so sorry for you. I love your personality, your hair is so pretty and you’re an amazing person 💕
My hair is curly and slightly brownish red because my great grandmother was Burmese, I always wonder why my mom doesn't look like a Chinese. I finally got the answer from my family photo album!
I have been telling people for the longest that I've only seen East asians have "nappy hair" as well. To be clearer, I don't just mean curly, I mean with the same type of courseness and density. Maybe it is kind of like a throwback gene from so long ago when the first tribe of East africans traveled to Asia. Who knows! I'm not a scientist but you are definitely not the first asian (or even Korean) I've seen with this hair. I have seen a Korean girl with 4a hair in my hometown. She was not biracial. It happens. Many people are just not aware!
If her hair was from the origin of an African, would't it have identified her as such in the dna test? I'm only pointing it out so to understand whether a fully Asian person can produce curly hair. I think this is the very question she is tackling due to everyone accusing of her mixed ancestry, and was the point of her answering this question in this video; to show people that a fully Asian person can produce curly hair...There is another Korean woman she interviewed on her own channel, who also had her dna test done, and revealed she had .02% Ethiopian on her own channel, and because of this, everyone will attribute her hair to her .02% African Ancestry.... I feel like to question whether this girl is fully Asian is to undermine her just like everyone else was doing, while also undermining the fight against prejudice, which was the point of this video.
@@ekim3153 not sure if you're implying that I was questioning her ancestry. I was doing the exact opposite. Throwback genes do not show up in DNA or ancestry tests because it is too many generations far back, hence the term throwback. Generally ancestry test trace a few hundred years but migrations out of East Africa would be beyond that so it would not show up in a test. That does not mean that I'm saying she's mixed. By that standard, almost everyone in the world would be "mixed". But any person has the possibility of showing a throw back gene because human history is old and human migration widespread. It's just very rare.
My great-grandmother was fully black, but she was red-headed. I was born with a few red strands near the front of my head, but I always dye them. Genetics are fun. 😆
There are African people with straight hair or blue eyes. Sometimes things are just a genetic mutation. The human body is amazing but fickle, and sometimes it just takes the change of ONE gene for someone to look different from the rest of their group (like albianism for example). Whatever the case, you are lovely.
East asian have nastural curly hair, if your east asian who have natural curly hair then to go on to have a child, their child could have a tighter curl. I know only because in my family we have like natural wavy curly ish hair, i seen 3 my cousin have a child. They all 3 hook up with another person with wavy curly, their children came out with wavy, curly, tight curls, and shrinkage hair. We are all latina, my point is that genetic can get stronger when both the partner has something, or weaker. Just depends.
I have seen Vietnamese with curly hair or wavy but many of them have Caucasian blood! But never Asian not even Indians from India! It's strange but I actually seen some African from New Guinea look Asian with kinky coil hair and some Ghanaians or nigerian look full Asian. Maybe some Asians have African DNA but since Asian features are so strong it only can show up through the hair!! Asian blood and African blood is extremely dominant. I believe Asian is waaaay stronger than African it can be 5 to 6 generations back in a race and still you can see Asian ancestry!
Curly hair is a dominant trait in humans! Don’t let years of particular beauty standards and beauty practices fool you. 😊 There are so many other traits attributed to one ethnic group that are actually found in many. Eugenics, imperialism, and colonialism have spread lies that people still sadly believe to this day. Not only does it lead to bullying but also low self esteem and identity crises. Even if a trait is more common in one group, there still are other groups that can also have that trait! Humans are so diverse but also so similar.
