I have never had my Epson not read the paper. I have had it messed up on certain paper, but I’m using this one kind and it has not one time messed up. I’m pretty impressed.
When I first started screen printing I was using a regular Epson printer that also wouldn’t register the clear film. So I was able to figure out that most Epson printers only read the first 1/4 inch of the paper to register, so I user 1/4 inch Post It tape and ran it across the lead edge of the film to trick it. Since it’s only 1/4 inch there’s no build up to throw ink flow off, you may want to give that a try next time your 8550 acts up.
I just caught the end of the live.. I am happy you are resolving the printer issues for the DTF. Maybe you can apply, putting the powder on and the drying in a oven outside? You use blue painters tape 1 1\2 inch works really well...just put it about an inch down and the over lap it half way with another piece of tape solved my problem

Hi! I missed the live. I don’t use RU-vid much but I’m trying to be on more so I get stay with you along this process! Two weeks ago I bought my 8550 as well as the ink, adhesive, and film from big boi like you suggested. I am struggling taking off. I started vinyl 8 years ago then screens printing 3 years, sublimation last October and the demands I have had for dtf has been insane but I’m just not at the point to invest into an actual dtf printer so I have been following you from the beginning. A little back ground, this is going to be my sole Income due to me being a stay at home mom of four boys and a bonus girl that we took guardianship of almost a year ago! I fully started my business around the time I started sublimation. I am able to do this full time. I’m loving it but I’m struggling getting going with this printer. So I was wondering if you could help me. Just like a step by step of things I need, list of what I need to do for maintenance, my programs I’m needed to get, and anything t else. I know it’s a lot to ask so i understand if you don’t have time or simply just not able to but I’m struggling to piece the videos together. I would love to be able to watch your entire lives from start to finish but like this one that’s almost 3 hours long I just can’t. My two year old and 5 year old only let their older brother 12 and 15 to keep them occupied for so long lol. I can’t find anyone to help me with guidance. Hi I dont know did u sort it out your problem with film but could be film to thin some of are 75 thiknes some of 100 I see even 130 :) that's should help
Hi Patrice, I converted an epson 8550 two weeks ago and I am getting an error code 000025 after cleaning it. My printhead stops right before going over the capping station, goes back to the left and slams the left side of the printer. Can you please give me any advice. I cant find no info on it online. Yes I have. It's not sensing the paper size. I have a few lives where I talk about it. I put a strip of painter's tape on the top backside of the sheet. sometimes, a print head cleaning will fix it, too.

When I use the film, my ink is applied and is really thin unlike the matte settings however It will NOT let me print on the film ANYMORE (it was working fine last week) with the matte setting. any suggestions? im wondering if its my ink profiles but i dont know how to fix them.
Can you please talk about the programs needed to print dtf....with all my research I'm just learning that I need a dft software, which are all costly...all after I already bought an epson 8550...:((, I haven't seen anyone talking about the programs to use.
I'm not sure which videos you have been watching. I have been mentioning softwares from my very first DTF video up to my most recent. I've only used Digital Factory Cadlink. You need a RIP software to print using the white ink. Yes, it is additional for any RIP software, which is the same programs required for white toner and DTG printers. It is only for printing. You will have to design in other design softwares.
Which Version of CADLINK the main version does not list ET 8550 nor do any of the add on updates (at $200 each in addition to $385 for main version) so how are you printing@@CraftableThings

If you turn that printer into DTF you’ll have a $800 paperweight within a month …the white ink will clog , it has to be constantly shaken or mixed …you’d better join a REPUTABLE DTF group on Facebook before you start throwing money down the drain
@@srdesigneredition6407 do NOT follow any page that has to do with Cosmos Ink …especially if they are advising people to use this type of printer for DTF . Don’t follow Cosmos Ink for sublimation or DTF , it’s a fraud company living off of a lying reputation …there is a group simply called Direct To Film Printing with over 26k members filled with men and women who have been active in DTF for years and they aren’t just out to sell you ink
