I was experiencing both breakage and shedding. I was extremely anemic( my ferritin levels were a 4) and I had several vitamin deficiencies. I've been taking my supplements for 6 months now and my hair problems are slowly improving.
Hey Fops, new subbie here!👋 I've been binge watching your videos, you are so knowledgeable and I love your sense of humor. I recently discovered I'm high porosity instead of low porosity and my hair is now thriving. I'm so glad I found your channel, btw TEST!
Hi Fops, keep doing what you're doing because its amazing. Love that you are educating and giving us all the tools for long lasting healthy hair rather than quick fixes. I stan
I'm so grateful Linwood referenced your channel. You are a life saver, game changer for all your wealth of information you give. Thank you so much and for this video. Stay bless.
Excellent and informative video. I suffer alopecia areata from time to time and sometimes worry unnecessarily. I have very long, fine (but lots of it) wavy hair and the visual was super helpful! I usually ask my hairdresser to give me a heads up if there are any bald patches haha
Thank you my hair is thinning but I have been growing it for two years ..... so am guessing I notice it more now it’s not short ..... new sub thank you 🙏 xx
Your videos are always so informative, love it! What do you think of companies such as Garnier putting Isopropyl alcohol in their hair products? Is that not very drying and bad for our hair?
@@AfopeAtoyebi I was shocked that a few of my staple products contained isopropyl, in the couple months since I started using products with better ingredients, the improvement in hair is nothing short of incredible. Because of you I now pay close attention to, ( and understand better), the ingredients in my hair products.
Can I ask a question? If a mix a penetrative oil eg coconut oil with a non penetrating one like mineral oil into a grease, will the coconut oil still absorb?
i just realised that you didnt really give a tip. very informative as always though. my intuition definitely tells me its bc of hair dye. i would love to know how you would suggest us on how to treat damaged hair.
Im experiencing postpartum shedding. My stylist is a trichologist and help with it, but was direct in telling me how long will may last. I now have a bald spot near the front (4months postpartum, natural, no weaves, medium length hair, fine but dense hair)
Thank you for your thorough explanation regarding shedding and hair loss. Do you have any suggestions regarding female pattern hair thinning which accompanies aging? My hair was super thick and I’ve noticed that it’s thinning on the top. There’s no burning itching, bleeding at anything like that, just thinning. Thx. Also test! 👍🏽😊
I lose more than 8 days worth of hair in a day. The only factor I can attribute that to was my 5 years stressful PhD. It's been over a year of rest since grad and I've only seen about 30% improvement. I shd see a specialist.
Could it still be shed hair if its long hair without the white bulb especially if a person has low sebum production? I cant seem to identify a bulb at the end of what i think is long shed hairs.
I feel like since going natural I am thinning more in my crown area I'm retaining length but I'm not retaining the extra thickness and volume that I want and I feel my hair is definitely thinning in the crown area
That's will be great!! Thank you so much. I'm battling with a lot of shedding, breakage, frizz and I think inflammation of the scalp. I don't know what to do. Dermatologists said its normal, I get the same answer......aging. I'm in my mid 40s
Could you please help me? I’m Middle Eastern and I was born with thick curly hair. It went totally straight as a child which is fine! Drink puberty, my hair went thick wavy curly. Last year because of the pandemic, my hair texture changed. My hair is thick and dry! It barely grows! I’m someone who cut my hair during middle school into a pixie cut and a year later, it was waist length! I’ve checked all my vitamins and minerals. And what’s strange is that my hair becomes very curly during my period please help me out
Ok so I assume then if you have a hormone imbalance that caused excess hair loss, or a time of stress that's caused more hair loss, then that would mean you're losing more than 15% of your hair at one time and I'd assume once you got hormones and stress under control that it would throw off this percentage for the rest of your life?
Test!! Bupropion triggered a shedding like woooh (in two months using it, shedding started at ~30 days into the medication) I stopped the medication ab 20dayd ago but the shedding doesn't seem to stop, one third of density is lost 😭
I have burning inflammation on my scalp for 2 yrs. Been too see a Dermatologist and Famiky doctor she sees nothing wrong with my scalp but gave me a Shampoo to use for 4 weeks 2xs per week. Still having the issue. Should I see another doctor or Tricologist?
OK your hair is a very tight texture, and mine is longer... so your pompom looks very small compared to mine but mine is about the size of your 8 days, within 2 days 😔
Love this content. I think I had telogen effluvium. I had a hard move last September after getting evacuated from a fire area. Had to live on friends couches for 2 months. + Covid fears. Stress city! By December I was seeing what looked like a lot of hair each week during my wash. I'm over 50 so also...Menopause. I did think the hair loss was mostly coming from the front, temples and back of the crown. Panic! Then I read about Telogen Effluvium. By March 2021 I finally got a haircut and I told the stylist about my experience. She said she saw a lot of tiny new hairs on my scalp. Relief! BTW I was losing long hair but never noticed the white bulb. Is the white bulb smaller for fine hair?
Yes an no, I think this is largely determined by genetics, but there are things you can do to maximise that time. I mention one of these tips in this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YCbMcJTUWRM.html
It won’t shed more - but it’s possible that it will break more due to the manipulation of the different textures, and the fragility at the like of demarcation between the two.
