@isabella demarko i think this is the thing for your dry hair, continued use of a leave in with a plant gel, i know you’ve used them before, but idk for how long so
If anyones looking for a cheap and basic (but good ingredients), eighttripleeight is your girl, they sell 1 litre bottles of shampoo and conditioner at poundland and from what i see contain the ingredients she mentions in this video (in both the shampoo and conditioner not just shampoo though so maybe its not that hydrating), and from personal experience, they are great for hair health
I cut my locs off 6 months ago after two years because I felt like they were thinning at the root. I’ve always been protein sensitive and my hair has always been incredibly dense, thick stand and super corse. As someone who has been natural for over 30 years scalp cleansing was always easy because I could wash as often as I needed. Not the case when you’re loc’d. I somehow ended up using O- - - - - x shampoo which my hair into tumbleweed. Needless to say the hair loss has been tremendous and my scalp is enraged. All those OTC shampoos are so ineffective and drying. I can’t wait to put my mask together. Thank you. 🙏
Dryness waiting at the door after we've done all that work to avoid it, is high level disrespect! 😂 I watched this video, ran off to the lab, took out all my ingredients and made a film forming humectant leave in conditioner. GIRL, this was the truth. It defined my curls, and kept my hair so hydrated until wash day. I couldn't believe it. Thank you so much for this info.
My hair lengths and ends are dryy spilit ends. Bt smtimes after day or two, my scalp start to itching... even after 2 days of wshing hair...i also see whitish roundish small flakes when i scratch hair..so wht i am dealing with...??? ( These dayys very very much hair fall also)
I have been the chi heat protectant for ages and it is honestly the absolute best! Smells divine, doesn’t leave anything residue and makes hair manageable
1. Completely detangle your hair with slippery detangler. 2. Section and shampoo/clarify. 3. Apply protein. 4. Apply heat for 5-10mins. Until product is sticky, but not dry. 4. Add conditioner that conditions and moisturizes. Massage into hair to break up hard cast. 5. Rinse after 15-30mins. Product on hair for ~40mins. Adjust your application for your hair type.
I think the difference between your video and her video is the difference between regular people talking science and scientists talking science. Well done
My honest hair growth journey: focus on sleep, keep scalp cleanliness, shampoo less and hydrate more, get frequent trims, brush hair daily, and use liitlllextrra reactivaate serum regularly. It includes rosemary and other helpful ingredients that consistently promote the growth of fresh baby hairs.
hair does not have a PH, the PH mentioned in scientific literature is the pH of the F layer, which is a layer that contains fat+water provided by the relative humidity of the air, not the protein itself. PH can only be measured in an aquatic environment when a substance ionizes the water, and for ionization to take place, this matter needs to be dissolved to release its charges into the water, when you wet your hair it does not fall apart.
cuticle does not raise or lower. What occurs is a radial expansion of the cortex that pushes the cuticles, increasing the space between them. This movement is called swelling. No serious scientific literature states that the human hair cuticle can open and close. If you find an article that says this, it is very possible that it was commissioned by a brand to defend its own interests, such as selling products that "seal cuticles" and "balance pH", hair does not have pH but rather pI( isoelectronic point)
June 2024 I really miss you on RU-vid but I understand the burden of the time commitment to make these videos. You are very knowledgeable and broke down the scientific information for lay people. I appreciate your help. Thank you
I rarely use heavy products unless I’m going to an event and need hairspray/mousse so no need for clarifying shampoos unless I’m doing a chemical treatment. I also like Camille Rose but they don’t need to put an oil in a shampoo
This is a compliment. These videos are so fascinating, even though they’re not irrelevant to my life, lol. You guys all look so beautiful and so do the brushes and then it’s just fun watching the brush glide through your gorgeous hair. You do you!
I also recommend @RodrigoMenha's channel, he also explains chemically about hair, there is a video where he talks about proteins in hair, the channel is Brazilian
It may also have a relationship with the climate, in cold weather the hair will take a long time to evaporate and water would stay in contact with the hair for a long time, which would harm it.
