Just pausing to say that deep space nine is fantastic. The first season was really rough as the characters were being flushed out, but once you get to the second season and beyond its fanfeakingtastic...With the exception of maybe the last season which I fell off of - it was incredibly forward thinking and interesting since it was more or less a stationary pass through rather than going out on an adventure.

"Choose a country to live in" > "London" 😂 In all seriousness though, as a Brit from the North East of England (also part Scottish and Irish) I would like to emphasise once again that THERE IS MORE TO THE UK THAN LONDON. London is one of the worst parts of the country and in the modern day it is not representative of our wider country or culture - anywhere else is guaranteed to be better. We have some of the most beautiful countryside, architecture, and amazing history in the world (although I may be biased lol). If you would like to visit the UK, please don't just go to London! I would particularly recommend County Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria, and the Yorkshire counties. Outside of the north I would recommend Derbyshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, East Anglia, Somerset, and Cornwall . Full of countrysides, castles, villages, history, local food, interesting accents - I could go on. And that's just within England! ❤

As a proud Greek who actually lives in Greece I absolutely adore the name Electra. It's the name I would have chosen for myself if I had been given a chance but I was named Lemonia instead which means lemon tree in Greek, following a Greek custom according to which grandchildren should be named after their grandparents. Thank God my mum changed it to Lenia which is Russian and more my vibe as I love Russian literature. As far as Jane Austen heroines are concerned I would like to be Emma but I think I am an Elinor, Marianne and Fanny combination if that makes any sense. Love from Greece

Elinor Dashwood is one of my favourites. I can only aspire to be her! She's very grounded, lives in the real world and has a good understanding of what needs to be done. Her mother was just trying to cope with the change in circumstances and her sister was wallowing in self-pity. Her brother wasn't going to help so she stepped up and got things done. She understood how important their friends were and was always respectful of them, but wasn't blinded to their faults. No one fooled her or conned her (e.g. Wickham ). She's a character that got the memo and took action. Yes Lizzie Bennett was clever and quick witted, but she was also living a bit in denial about her personal circumstances. Turning down Mr Collins in her financial situation was a big rash move. Because we follow her in the book and love her we totally get why she said no to him, but the reality is that marrying him would have secured her future and she was as clever as Charlotte Lucas and could easily have ... erm manipulated him. Also if she doesn't marry then she would have to be dependent on one of her sisters to marry well and take her in - something she admits to Jane! Whatever you might think of Edward he is kind, amiable and honourable. Elinor doesn't need someone who will take control of everything, she doesn't want or need a Darcy - she's perfectly capable of getting things done herself.

I got Eliza Bennet on that quiz too even though I picked many different things than you. Then I found one that tells you which two you’re like and I got Anne Elliot and Fanny Price, which is probably more accurate although my eyes are fine lol. I like my own company and am rarely lonely.

I too am a huge Star Trek fan! I didn’t live during the airing on TV, but I did grew up with it. I watched every series and every season of it. I loved all of the “old” Star Trek Series (not the new ones). Personally DS9 is my second favorite Star Trek Series (after TNG, which is hard to top) of all time and one of my top ten favorite series. I was extremely prejudiced, when I started watching it since it is about a space station and not a space ship, so what could ever happen there? But the more I watched it, the more I started loving it and, like Elisabeth Bennet, changing my opinion entirely. I’m new to this channel, but I really enjoy your content. It made me really appreciate Jane Austen’s work and interested in this part of history, which is rarely discussed in school, where I come from. (I’m sorry for my grammar, English is not my native language.)

As an avid student of that particular portion in which castles were built...I MUST inform you that though indeed they were built for defense.. those parts that were lived in were indeed quite cozy! They had plastered and painted walls, decorations, and much more to create it into a home. I'm definitely Fanny Price with occasional Marianne Dashwood type outbursts. I don't need a quiz to tell me, I'm painfully self aware. Edit, took the quiz just to see: buzzfeed says I'm Jane Bennett. 😂 Definitely wrong. Much as I like her and Bingley, I don't think I have anything in common with her. I stand by my first remark. I'm a Fanny that turns into a Marianne when she's miffed. Though I probably do have a bit of Catherine Morland in me somewhere, that I'll concede. The other Austen girls, much as I admire them, especially Emma, I have nothing in common with.

I literally discovered Jane Austen by hiding out in the library after almost getting caught smoking under the bleachers. 😆 hunkered down, the floral pattern on the edge caught my attention and I spent the entire hour reading Austen while high, then took it home. Hey, some stoners have LOTR, some have Austen. I have 0 regrets.

Omg I feel like I always hear on ranking lists and forums and stuff that DS9 wasn't good, but I enjoyed it and recently got a couple friends into Star Trek (we've been binging together, whatta blast) and TNG and DS9 are all their favourites! I wonder if it's a generation thing? Like newer pop culture vibes better? Idk. I was happy they liked it xD

I loved DS9 because it was different to have a space station centered drama, as opposed to the usual Star Trek ship-centered stories in the other series. It was also a bit deeper at times.

I’m glad I wasn’t the old one who took their books home! 😃😂 Also, I wouldn’t have realized either had they not literally smoked it in the middle of class, out in the open right next to the running trail for everyone to see except the teacher who would just send us out to run and then lounge by the buildings. 😂 The first few weeks I was like, “How is everyone not getting expelled?!” 😂

Longtime TNG fan here. Old enough to remember when it was on regular tv and extremely popular. The TNG movies started coming out when I was a teen and I own all four on DVD. I have never tried watching DS9, but you and other commenters here have piqued my interest. Maybe I'll give it a try on Netflix, assuming it's there. Also would say that I am an Elinor type except that I don't draw ✍️. Instead, I am more like Marianne in the "what I do in my spare time" respect! 🎶 🎼 🎵

There are a no. of US and Japanese (English translations) graphic novels of at least some of Jane Austen s. text novels. Most or all seem to be for sale on line. If the Japanese manga versions are not on line, Barnes and Noble sells some. Enjoy!! Good, luck!! text novels.!!

I'm an Old School Trekker, but of the three 90s series, I like the writing and story of DS9 the best. I liked the characters: Bashir and Garak, Worf and Dax, Nog - Nog is one of the best Trek characters of all time - I loved the way they made a character out of Morn, a character then never has a line the entire series and was just supposed to be background scenery in Quark's bar. I liked the way it took Gene Roddenberry's ideal, utopian world and kind of pushed all it's buttons and pointed out all of its flaws. My senior year of high school, even though I had a centrally located locker, I carried all my textbooks in my bag all the time, to the point that at the end of the year when it was time to clean out the lockers, I had to have the janitor open my locker for me, because I hadn't used the thing so long, I'd forgotten the combination. I did recover that favorite sweat jacket I'd been looking for forever. I also spent every bit of free time in the library sheltering from the drama and crowds in the cafeteria (and finding new books to read - and my school library didn't have much sci-fi or fantasy at all, and that's my forte). As a long-time Daredevil fan, Electra is one of my favorite female names (she's even filling in as Daredevil these days in the comic). As for which Jane Austin character I am: my wife says I'm Darcy, but without the money. I can live with that.
