The story about not letting her husband go out with friends is sad. No one should stop anyone from doing anything. A relationship or marriage is about trust and respect. When you have both, you won't need to restrict your partner. Some things might need to be said or reminded but to this degree? Absolutely not. If you don't have that, it's better to let go and accept what you truly deserve.

Here's my second comment 🤣 NTA on asking the suegra to give the OP a heads up when going over. I HATE when people come over without telling us. I like to have my house clean and organized, and my in-laws tell me that they don't care, but still. Plus, if you live over 30 minutes away, you should give a heads-up because you might have plans already or might not be home.

In the morning we don't put music at work we watch spill the beans!!🤩 And I'm the only young one and the ladies here still love it

I missed Belen

When i was younger my fam would go to other family members house unannounced but mainly on the weekends. I will say though it would be to relatives who my parents were really close to for the most part. And vice versa people would stop by at our house. I don’t see it being done with a bad intention but we didn’t have cellphones back then when we did it so if we were in the area and wanted to go chill with them there was no way of notifying. Nowadays though it is a little weird to not announce
