I do believe that counselling is one of the very few careers where age and life experience is an advantage.

I started my training at 20, and I’m now 23 and hoping to graduate this year 😊 I thought I was too young, especially being the youngest in my class but I now realise it’s not about age at all, it’s about the individual. Thankyou.

I am47 and halfway through my degree program. My goal was to finish by the time I turn 50. I will graduate at 49.

I think, it should be "Age related in counselling career", because, when meeting clients for the first time you need to build rapport and trust relationship which however relies on the client's attitudes and thoughts when they see you. If you look so young they cannot talk to you as thinking you do not have enough experience to understand them....

Though younger clients might well find it easier it terms of being able to relate to the counsellor. Also not all clients are bound by this way of thinking.
