The way samus visibly strains, trying to jam the Queen's jaws open and keep her from biting down before she can think of a plan - the small details really count.
You actually can just finish off Queen Metroid with missiles - 10 regulars or two Supers does the job once she goes to try and eat you. If you do it that way, she just screams and then poofs out of existence. It's kind of hilarious. I did it on v1.0, so I don't know if it changed in later versions.
Recently played this myself, v1.5. Loved it for the most part and was looking forward to doing this. But it wouldn't work, I roll into a ball inside her jaws and get stuck, can't roll or lay a Power-Bomb. Tried it 5 times and still nothing, don't know whats gone wrong.
I don't know what happened, but my gravity suit makes me invisble which made the rest of the game super hard to do. lol The weird thing is that all the other suits work just fine so i often switched to varia to see myself but in a lot of the ending battle it made it hell with that damage. O_<, But great game. I LOVE IT! Dr.Mario64 sure did a hell of a job. :3
Wow. I feel retarded. I had no idea you could kill those things with the ice beam and get health/ missile pick ups. I kept killing them with power bombs / screw attack, the result being running out of ammo at the end .
