I loved this episode as it feels like yet again, the one and only Susan Garrett is somehow available to small town people like myself. I started with my first dog at a late age, who is fearful. I bought many lessons from many +R trainers and landed for keeps with Garrett. I found passion in pursuing competitive bitework, and now I am always floored and encouraged when theres little layers of connection like this episode to people like me. Susan is a collection of trial and error experiences over many years, and she isn't "gatekeeping" the information she got from the results. One of my impressions is "her passion is to train dogs, but her calling is to train people". Thankyou for putting another layer into growing a connection with us small town people, I would be overjoyed to see more of these when you can make time

Yes great idea! Unfortunately I missed the opportunity to ask a question. So maybe for the next time 😁: ‘How do I re-socialise my dog so she learns that aggression is not necessary?’ My dog (14months) is starting to learn she needs to be aggressive to unsocial dogs. Larger dogs in the park (on or illegally off leash) are sometimes making my dogs anxious with their unsocial behaviour (bumping her over, running towards her in a straight line, not leaving her alone when she shows she is not interested). Of course I am trying to avoid these situations and try to read the dogs. But I would like for my dog to learn larger dogs are not a reason to be anxious or aggressive. Hope you can help me 🤞

You might want to look at Clint Obers grounding mat for pets. Then a dog in pain could be grounded in the home.

Hey Susan or Dogs That admins...I have a question, but first I thought I'd let you know I enjoyed the last podcast where the young venya? asked you some great questions especially the last one was a really good one. ...best to you Venya...oh how I wish I had started dog training when I was her age instead of in my late 60's, but they say your never to old to learn. I have a question or perhaps a sugestion for a future podcast. Wondering if Susan might be able to talk about the difference between arousal and drive....I have a you Aussie 20 mths who's arousal is over the top sometimes and I find it makes it really hard to gain his focus or drive for certain training we are working on....I've heard from some breeder fb pages that it's very hard to get drive with dogs who are often over aroused. I know Susan talked about the fredia? protocol. Maybe a dumb question but is this the way I should be working with my pup to reduce his periods of over arousal. I'm sure Susan gets millions of questions and I'm sure lots of repeats so if she has previously addressed a question like mine, just point me in the general direction for an answer and much appreciate taking the time to read this much too long question....best to all of you!
