Amalgam Comics Month: Assassins #1 - Atop the Fourth Wall 

Making Daredevil a lady with huge boobs makes a lot of sense; it must be a tribute to the giant "DD" that's usually on his chest.

Honestly a better Batman villain fusion would be with Penguin given his organized crime Combining with Kingpin could literally be named Emperor Penguin, that would've been a much better fusion

The combination of Catwoman and Electra further drives the point that Batman should have been combined with Daredevil. Also, the "blind as a bat".

It's weird, 'Dare' looks almost exactly like Deathstroke's daughter, Ravager (Rose Wilson).

Given the riddles Enigma Fisk makes I think a better name for him might be the "Pun-isher"

It's a crime that for an issue leaning so hard into the 90s vibe that they called her "Dare" rather than the much more edgy "Death Devil."

I guarantee you they only combined Kingpin and Riddler because somebody thought "The Big Question" was a cool name.

With all these death trap rooms, I'm surprised they didn't fuse Riddler with Arcade.

Instead of Kingpin + Riddler, it should have been Kingpin + Penguin. King Penguin. Both crime lords that dress fancy, King Penguin is a real bird and Kingpin's name is hidden within it.

7:55- From what I've read on Wikipedia, there actually IS an Amalgam fusion of Two-Face and Norman Osborn called The Two-Faced Goblin, and he's featured in Speed Demon #1.

In the Amalgam universe, Cry for Justice, Rise of Arsenal, One More Day and One Moment In Time all got merged together to become…"CRY FOR ONE MORE RISE IN TIME"

Personally, if I were to fuse Cassandra Cain for a future Amalgam comic, I would go with X-23. Both were teenage girls who were bred to become living weapons, but eventually broke free to become heroes. Even fits with them fusing Batman and Wolverine together.

I think that the best fusion for the Kingpin would be Bane. Because in the similar way that the best fusion for Daredevil would be Batman, those 2 also parallel each other. Criminal geniuses. Absolute beasts in hand to hand combat. Also, the man who broke the Bat, and the man who destroyed Matt Murdock's life.

I thought Dare was a fusion with Zealot, until I realized this was before Wildstorm and DC merged.

You did a great job with this themed month and it was nice to see someone else review Amalgam Comics and see what made them stand out in a strange time for comics

I'm a huge Amalgam fan and I was dead certain that the "Big Question" was going to make your worst of the whole event. Thank you for this series. It was fun to revisit, even the awkward parts.

I would be all in for a trans DeathStroke "Robin, I will not stop you from leaving, I understand now we must all make our own path, not allowing others to dictate who we are. But I would ask one thing of you, just one: should I work my half-and-half esthetic into my transition, or is that like, way too much?"

There is not nearly enough sexual tension between this half-Daredevil and this half-Elektra to make this premise worth it I want this series revived as a whacky romantic comedy with ultra violence mixed in! I want them discussing what to make for dinner tonight while stabbing guys! Damn you amalgam, you left us too soon!

What we really want is a combination of "the Fixer" and some Liefeld abomination. That would be a combination to drive men insane. Who should they combine US-1 with? Good episode as always. A day with a Linkara video is a good day.

Big Question sounds more like a combination of the Question and Big Wheel, which sounds cooler than it should have any right of being.

A fusion of Green Goblin and Two-Face does actually appear in the amalgam universe in Speed Demon #1 (The Fusion of The Flash and Ghost Rider) as The Two-Faced Goblin Harvey Osborn, Harvey being Harvey Dent/Two-Faces name and Osborn for Norman Osborn.

I doubt it would have sold but an Amalgam between Dagger/Dove and Cloak/Hawk akka Open and Stealth? or the wasted of not Amalgam Henk Pym and Doc Magnus loved to see an ultron and so

Okay maybe someone else has mentioned this, but why not mix Kingpin and Penguin? Fisk and Cobblepot actually have quite a bit in common when it comes to their roles and how they interact with their cities' street-level heroes, plus "King Penguin" actually sounds kinda badass. Or "Emperor Penguin" since the New 52 didn't exist yet so the name was still available

We're day away from the 1-Year Anniversary of the 700th Episode of Atop the Fourth Wall: Superman: Year One.

This feels like an early Image comic, like those Dart or Evangelyne on the Godyssey.

I have to have a correction here: Linkara said Phil Urich, as Phil was the heroic Green Goblin and nephew to Ben Urich. Ben Urich is more linked to Daredevil, not Phil.

Rose Wilson wasn’t “Ravager” until the mid 2000s, long after this book was published, and in the 90s Rose was a much more well adjusted person. And yet, Dare is eerily close to the character Rose became in the mid 2000s. I guess that’s just how much the “Deathstroke’s Daughter” angle got pushed for her to the exclusion of all previous characterization.

The way Catsai spoke of Dare in that moment of anger for her death, makes me think theirs was a one-sided love story, and she didn't wanted to risk the injured Dare listening in case she was somehow still alive. Because otherwise, I don't get she double backed her words. After all, what does she care Enigma Fisk thinks of her?

I practically cheered when you were introducing the Ninja Style Dancer bit. Also, as it happened I was thinking recently while rewatching the previous DC Challenge episodes that it felt like it was about time for another, so it's great we're getting that again.

The obvious choice for merging with Cassandra Cain is Laura Kinney. You could even call her Dark Claw and it would make more sense than merging Logan and Batman ever did...

Really enjoyed this whole series, Linkara! I'd read trivia about the Amalgam comics books for ages, so it's nice to be able to read (or get closer to) them. Here's to hoping for Iron Lantern next time!

While I assume that "Arkham Tower" is a fusion of the Asylum and some other building, it's funny in hindsight considering that Arkham Tower is now a real location in Gotham.

I had the pleasure of finding Volume 1 of the Amalgam Age of Comics as a TPB a long time ago. Honestly, 90% of the stories as stellar, popcorn comic book fluff that just makes me smile, and grin with how much fun it seemed like the creators had making this universe. Assassins, however, is a sore thumb in the experiment. It’s loud. It’s violent. These cool designs are killed off shamelessly, and the entire story just feels like the poop in the Amalgam punch bowl.

The whole point if Analgam is to mix everything up…it seems weird to be upset about that. I like that you can see multiple mixtures of the same character. Also, they used Storms’s orphan/thief backstory for Catsai.
