Personally think you're way off with your praise of this ship. Most people with enough res worth the Amalgam (10 billion+) have that much because they are good at shielding. There are a few rare cases to use it, but it's trash imo. Also, stating new ships are pay to play is wrong. Vidar was free, Stella was free, disco was free, botany bay. North star and dvor were cheap Scopely made a choice to massively over price this, cos they were hoping to cash in on the hype before people realise its trash

Rev, although u have a point about the Amalgam being cheaper to tier up, many of us already have faction miners that we have invested in to tier them up. My best faction miner scoops about 4 mil per hit. So the prospect of the Amalgam being more efficient for raiding on my server is minimal - not enough bases will have enough resources to trigger the Amalgam advantage to where it will beat out my faction miner. Not going to help me raid.

Hit a base with 3 trillion plus rss and your haul is over 1 billion. Big boy in my alliance is taking 4 billion + rss per hit on a base with amalgam. It's a must have for big base raids. Small rss, around 15 billion or so, unless it's tiered up highly, your maxed fac miners are equal or better

Scopely should release a ship called the USS refinery. For every 10k raw mats mined, it automatically converts the raw to 10 uc and 1 rare. Stick it behind a pay wall but allow f2p to get it through cosmic cleanup and events store

Love the video. Very informative and great strategy with the EXOCOMP. It'd be nice to see Scopely give us more ships like the Meridian and the Amalgam. Being able to use a ship for G3, then G4 beyond Tier 5 to extend the life would've been nice after I dumped all those resources into my Kumari many moons ago. Makes me think the Andorians never made another ships for 150 years. LOL. I agree with you on the value over a faction miner, which is why I'm glad the Amal doesn't take too much 3* mats. Also, I still think there is a need for an H-Class freighter that mines TRIT, PAR, and DIL just as fast as the D'vor mines Lat. Otherwise the parsteel nodes in WR150 zones are USELESS.

i only went for one exocomp and still managed to grab 15m plunder cargo in that 1hr. so grabbing the 500k exocomp chest is not really needed since both - the exocomp and the refinery are on a 3 day cooldown. keep that in mind

i've seen up over a trillion parsteel in the big bases, the amount of resources you could loot there is crazy

This is a good idea but the mechanics are way too small, the chances of finding a 50B base and getting in are next to impossible on my server. A normal raid is between 1-2B (if you’re lucky) and this simply won’t be worth it as a raiding ship. The refinery store is a great addition though and will look forward to using that when the ship becomes free

I Just got the last bp's I needed from the current event, got excited thinking I could use the plunder exocomp with the Amalgam for Eclipse hostile and swarm ship loot, so so sad this is not the case at time of posting this.

Rev, Amalgam is great - don’t forget the Honour Guard Worf drops in the recruitment store. Big bonus, you can get 2 shards every 3 days. Really excited to have something to raid with again.

using the Exocomp, along with Stonn, and 2/11, i was able to amass 21M in just 1 hour. I warped to ther system, and summoned back with Disco....very good results. 1.9M per trip

Hey Rev. Love the videos. I have an unrelated question. I am wondering if, after getting the triple faction lock, anyone has gone on to level up dual factions beyond Respected reputation. Is it feasible? If it was tried, did they persevere or give up eventually for the normal single faction?

Amalgam officer recruit wasn't covered in the video. Warning. Check refinery to see if you can do a chest pull before tiering up the ship. It resets the refinery so you can time it right and get 2 quick pulls.

Great video. Question... if you say hit a tougher ship to suicide on after youve killed the miner with the exocomp active. ... do you keep the entire plunder? If hitting a much higher hostile is faster on the way home then getting home by warping

The best part of this ship is the ability to refine ship refits. Seems like the only reason to get it for me. Everyone worth hitting is shielded or way out of attack range. Either under or over. But 2 hits a day to be able to work towards refits seems like a deal

Seems like a ship to focus on much much later in the game, never needed to go raiding for rss and at lvl 39 with 80 bill steel tokens etc so can’t see a need to raid until at least lvl 41/42 and even then I should earn plenty of res by then anyway… and I’m F2P

You didn't take into account B'Etor's ability that increases the amalgam's ability by 10% (tier 1 B'Etor)(it goes up to 50% at tier 5).

Although I love the idea of this ship and the refnery looks awesome, this ship seems designed to punish loot hoarders. Previously if you had hundreds of billions you had security in that any raid happening against you will take a long time to complete... The Amalgam could negate that.

The Problem is the big big Ressources are in Whale Bases and this ones have big defense.... without help low or medium players cannot get in so they will only with help from other big ones be able to raid theese big ones..... So most of the Players will never get this big raid hits with the new Ship Amalgam ^^ it will make only the big Raiders mightier than before :D I am very excited to raid with this Beauty

I mean I’ll take the ship but I don’t see myself even using at 33, I don’t have the time to sit around and scan system after system looking for a base to hit, I haven’t actually raided in over a year because of the time investment. Not working 40+ hours a week in healthcare and going back to school.

Yeah but those kitbashes isn't a single beam connecting 3-4 different sections. Seen one earlier looks like a kumari mated with a mosquito and a breen ship. Can of disappointing that it isn't a Borg or even a Augment ship since the Augments have the whole weaking of base defenses or whatever their skills directly say.

Amalgam is only really worth it if you start raiding bases with over 20 billion of resources because at higher levels, your faction miners with the right officers can pull in over 5 million per scoop, which is still greater than your Amalgam.

Hey Rev, I'm on server 24 and they are trying to make the Amalgam as a 'warship' in our Accords. I use mine daily to mine in Deep Space. In our Accords DS is protected unless you hit 0. How can I get these guys to realize the Amalgam is much more than just a raiding ship?

Amalgam can get to deep space the soonest. It collects my t4 rss when nothing else can, i will build another amalgam, they can sit over night and collect 4 star

The amount of bases I have seen in territory are closer to 11- 14 billion very rarely do I see 20 billion+, it’s just not worth it even at 41.

I don't care about the raiding aspect. At 39, I've yet to need rss and not going to 40 this year I expect. The refit tokens are nice and really the only reason I'll get the ship. 1 exocomp means I can get enough loot for 2 weeks of refines in an hour. That isn't an awful grind to add to the game.

So, if you don't have an Amalgam, do you really have enough time to hit 50 of the traders on top of everything else? I play casually when I have a bit of downtime and it's starting to feel like unpaid work to "play" this game. Not a fan

So this thing is only useful if it’s raiding a HUGE base, we all know how often we get to drain those. again I wish I never bought this waste of money. Scopley burns me again, and of course what you need to level this pos ship is behind a huge pay wall. Such buyers remorse, I wish I never heard you and dj talk this thing up last night. That’s the only reason I bought it.

So you don't like the extra options at sourcing HGWorf + ship skins? (seriously question, not a jab). Yes, raiding levels will depend on individual player/server, but the sourcing addition is great IMO.

@@RevDeuce nope never said anything about honor guard worf in my comments, that’s cool. But the ship is awful. Yes I see the potential, but the opportunities to meaningfully use this ship are going to be few and far in between. Unless scopley decides to Flood all their servers with trillions of rss. It’s only for those rare bases that are huge. I’m annoyed because I spent 100 bucks and wish I would’ve grinded it out for free. Because it just isn’t worth spending on unless scopley tweaks the numbers. Making it an actual game changer for raiding not this cash grab one trick pony of a ship. Where it only becomes useful if you pay a bunch or wait a long time. Even then in only limited circumstances it’s becomes worth it. I don’t want to sound like there was nothing good in this arc or that this has zero potential. But just like everything scopley does, they bring something good into the game but there is always a catch. It’s like they bring in good things to the game then stick it to you some other way.

I wouldn't exclude the possibility that scopely is planning to introduce researches later on to make it more effective. So you spend more to get those reserches done quickly or slower as f2p. But eventually you get a useful ship. We shall see ;)

Can barely get uncommon now. I have a enterprise auger and a D4 that need upgrading. Why would I waste my limited uncommons on a miner right now? I have all the faction miners & they’re at tier 5. Don’t need another miner. If I could solo raid then it would be worth it. This game is already time consuming. I literally don’t have the time to get a raiding group together.

That plunder grind is gonna be horrendous. Only a few of those spawn at a time and once the ships is available for free everyone will be hunting them. Upgrading it will take ages and the chances of finding a base that's juicy enough AND breakable are next to nothing. Could image the value if your sever is full of 45+ players and/or for no-lives that play 24/7, but for the rest it will probably be the lowest priority to work on. Nice mechanic don't get me wrong and the ability seems balanced, but very overhyped IMO.

Scopley: "Lets get players interested in raiding again. By making a $100 ship". Cant see this working, people who are not interested in raiding are not going to pay for it. Should have made a ship like this free to get people interested in raiding again.

Because the ship ability is based on the amount of res in the base. There is zero benefit until there is at least 10billion res in the base, and it's very marginal up to 100 billion. Tell me how many bases have that much res in them. In the video he's getting 2 million per hit. Bit whoop, a decent faction miner gets 4 million. Content creators have mislead players on this ship badly
