Score - *8/10* I thought Amanda was undermarked, her spins and expression are dynamic, the beginning was beautiful, her trainsitions in and out of hold were spectacular, she was so speedy and controlled, the topline was so good, her left hand on Giovanni's shoulder was beautiful and the fleckle was fantastic. Alot of amazing head movements and tricky solo pieces which she looked so comfortable in. I hope she doesn't let the hate and bad press get in the way because she deserves better. Giovanni seriously could turn anyone into a dancer, he is unbelievable and he has done it again! Fabulous routine so much potential 🥺
@@bessieburnet9816Aww now Richie wasn't that bad, he did a great Quickstep, I think he would have done better in another year, also anyone had a tough job going after Rose
Ones to watch for sure, I can see these two going far! Amanda is very elegant and she's a natural fit for ballroom. I'm intrigued to see how she does with the Latin!
Giovanni gets more beautiful every series 😂🙈 and my husband would not mind me saying so! 😌 Stunning human being. This was magical. Elegant, precise, captivating. All things gorgeous 🤍 8/10
My god. I knew she'd be great. She is paired with Giovanni for heaven's sake. But _this_ good _week 1?!_ WOW!! Queen was dancing like a pro then. Honestly deserved a higher score. Best ballroom of the night alongside Bobby's. Haters can suck it, Queen Amanda is here to stay!
My absolute favorite dance of the night, no question about it. You can tell she put the hours in and listened to Giovanni. The chemistry and connection these two have is unreal. Amanda's confidence on the floor, the way she goes into every move with this serene but powerful determination, how she showcases the quiet strength in vulnerability, I'm blown away. This dance hits every note in what I love about dance as an artform. I'm a crier and Strictly gets the waterworks going more than most, but rarely do I get misty-eyed on Week 1. Amanda and Giovanni got me this year. The most undermarked dance of the evening, hands-down. So excited for tomorrow evening!
Simply exquisite. Please breathe though amanda, not only does it keep you alive but it gives your top line a gentle softness that would make this routine perfection. 8
Score: 8 One of my favourites of the night! Everything just came together for me, great frame, footwork, musicality, a great song. She does need to learn how to breathe when dancing but otherwise everything came together to create such a gorgeous atmosphere!
Stunning, and heartfelt. Love both these two. Great pairing. Wow, i now have a list i want to vote for. The competition is hot this year - so many competent dancers.
Score: *8* THIS WAS UNDERMARKED!!! This should have been at least a 30! I hate that the tabolids are saying that she wanted to quit, this was BEAUTIFUL!! The rotations, the turns, the ELEGANCE!!! With that said, I do agree with Craig (lol) it did have some moments of overpowerness in the turns and it did lack some of the elegance with it happened but other than that, LOVED IT!!
Never herd of her before so didn't know what she would bring to the table but i think she's gonna the dark horse this yr ,her arm movements flowed right down to her fingers & just looked flawless & was totally in sync with gio ,but then again he always seems to bring the best outta his dance partners , lookin forward to see what she can bring in the other dance's
Beautiful! In the first 40 seconds her face showed that she was trying hard but she danced truly well. Hope she starts enjoying it more - or at least fakes it. I am looking forward to her routines.
@@caitlinbrennan9039 so true! Too short and bad music doesn’t help. The UK stars have the same amount of time to learn and yet are SO much better… I’m not sure what else is going wrong in the US version…
our scores: me: 8 diya: 7 kelsey: 8 owen: 8 31/40 this was undermarked. stunning choreography and suited her so well. i’m curious to see how her latin goes next week.
I was surprised to see Giovanni dancing to this song - he danced to the same one with Katya Jones in one of their professional dances last year, to Lewis Capaldi singing his own song. It was good though.
If we stick with gio this season, there is going to be some amazing storyteller, and a lot of questions are going to be answered. He has a very talented lady with him this season, a brilliant actress, dancer, and performer. Amanda will be the most spectacular partner and team mate, who will help him tell this story and answer the questions through the medium of dance. Get behind them people and just watch as it all unfolds. 🦎🌹👍❤️❤
This was a lovely dance, I don’t see any real chemistry, very acted but there’s nothing wrong with that but being clearly an already accomplished dancer may go against her later down the line unless she massively improves. Seeing them both on itt, she does seem as competitive as him so they will make a good team.
i'm impressed!!!!!! truthfully, i was less than pleased to see she'd be on after some of her twitter comments about trans people a couple years ago, but she did a great job here and has a lovely fluidity to her movements that I didn't expect. well done amanda and gio!
Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice Next. Giovanni is no stranger to making strictly finals and I think this year will be no different, Amanda is graceful, kind and caring personalty, beautiful and of course she can dance onto a winner with this pairing, the only thing I didn't like is the pair explained the story after the dance that is no good, need expiation before dance so the viewer can emotionally attach to the dance and pair. I wish this pairing had been saved for last the dance, the song and ofcouse the pairing almost made me cry with happiness.
I think it's the most intense , most competitive , most close and highest standard for week 1 ever... the only bet I'm prepared to make would be who's out next week. After that there's another 4 that I've shortlisted - after that the judges are going to have a very tough time but the standard of dance will be truly exceptional - tonight honestly felt like a final!
@@TAH1712 your right, I wished Angela Rippen had gone first with the song and the fact that she was amazing, its gonna be hard this year for the couples but fun for the us the viewers.
Agrre5dance experience helping but those dances are different and others were dancers so its not just her , However now it doesn't bother me as watching the show Anc often idiot li,e when they are though with them
I think they were marked spot on let's face it his best buddy can't so favouritetium just yet about her dress that's not gio taste mind you I'm biased still watching reruns of gio and rose never mind weight and see time will tell
Absolutely lovely dance and brilliant choreography but absolutely zero chemistry. Hes literally buggered now after rose they broke strictly, everyone he dances with now just looks wrong
That's my impression as well. As the judges pointed out, the technique and the performance were very good. But the dance moves were too studied. The choreography was great, but the dance didn't show chemistry or artistry. As surprisingly I think Nigel and Katya had. But then I still see Rose dancing a waltz with Giovanni.
Chemistry when I read that personally it's the first week for all then They are humans too so if they are not becoming best friends or whatever I think it's what the are going to delivered
@@naimaboukhouf Yeah, but it just makes the dance seem very robotic and rehearsed. Amanda was fantastic but I just think compared to some of the other frontrunners she doesn't have enough chemistry which is very evident.
.My impression as well. Choreography and technique were very impressive. But I didn't feel their chemistry or emotions for the narrative. Maybe in the next dance.
@krob2327 she went bankrupt in 2013 rather than paying a £120,000 tax bill, she even filled for bankruptcy as a single person despite being in a relationship with Martin Freeman who had at least ten million in the bank at the time, so she's a massive hypocrite who criticises the government when she won't even pay into the system, can't stand her and wish she had walked off!!
