Using the cipher from last time, the secret message on the red book seems to ask "Who is Wooly?" which, valid question actually. The game beats you over the head with Amanda's true self, but Wooly seems to be just as sentient and there are like no leads as to who he is, it's actively kept hidden. He never shows up in the credits, he apparently wasn't there until the show became a cartoon given the low budget, live action take, him being a literal animal, the fact he was never mentioned in that stage of the show's lifespan, and... well, the petting zoo episode. (What was up with that hyperventilating barn, by the way?) Everyone we know in the game is either just obviously unlikely (Such as Sam and most of the adults) or provably not Wooly (Such as Lauren and Riley), so... who is he?

Is it just us or does Amanda seem more human than in the other games. Like she expresses a wider range of emotions like sadness when being told she's rotting, it seems curious.

Somehow Mat and Ash both misheard, but Amanda said the card was for her friend who helped AMANDA feel better when she was sad. I think I have a slight theory: The first run through, where we can't pause or anything, is us playing as Kate. I know there's the note addressed to Riley, but that could just be her preparing the note in advance.

One more piece of evidence showing Sam as the Pied Piper which also proves that the makers of the game knew what they were talking about. "Pied" refers to a style of fabric with two strongly contrasting colors. The Pied Piper is called this because he, like many characters in folklore, is dressed very strangely. He specifically wears red and yellow fabrics. So, in case you're wondering why he was eating strawberry and banana pancakes...

something very very interesting is that after you watch the "Uh Oh! Accidents!" tape, and the Sam Colton article shows up, it ends with Lacey stating, "What inspired you to produce a show who is focused on getting our kids-" and the article getting cut off. but the whole thing with the pied piper actually makes SO MUCH sense when paired with that sentence, especially "focused on getting our kids". Holy crap, we're onto something. Edit: i now have theories kind of built, but i don't know if i have enough evidence to prove them. If you've seen the other tapes, you'll kind of understand- so, in one of the tapes, Rebecca Colton (Amanda's voice actor, and potentially Amanda herself) is recording voice lines for the cartoon show. she has strange lines, however, and Sam Colton tries to stop it. The director said it must've been part of the script. Then Rebecca mentions a voice from her headphones, potentially trying to do something, as Rebecca replies "Im not going to do that" or something of that sort. At this point, Sam is pretty upset, but the tape cuts off. This one tape could explain a bit of lore, in my opinion. In the very last second, the door opens in the tape. So, maybe, Sam leaves the room, and the director is chasing after him, leaving Rebecca with whoever was speaking through the headphones. Like I said, this is just some theory, since there isn't actual evidence. This could be the point where Rebecca becomes Amanda. Just like in the tape with Lauren, if you even look away for a few seconds, they could be gone. Therefore, the first soul is in the show. Then, In the letter from Joanne Cook, she talks about her brother getting "kidnapped". This child could potentially be Wooly. Again, still no real evidence to prove it. At this point, the show starts getting full of souls and such, because of how many children watch it. You might be wondering whats with the whole article saying that Sam was the "pied piper". Well, here's a small thing on that. Sam could've realized how rebecca was gone, and planned revenge on the people (almost like how the pied piper went) by luring their kids into the show. This explains why it still existed afterwards. Then, once the show was out, he went into hiding, also partly explaining an ending where a hooded figure appears in the attic, even though i don't know how they got there, it could be Sam, perhaps hearing Rebecca's voice, entering the attic, and seeing Riley (the player) throw a brick at the television, in which "Sam" looks at Riley in the very end scene. Sam could've been wanting to figure out a way to get Rebecca out of the tv? How Sam would know Rebecca was trapped as Amanda I have not a clue. still, all of these are theories. i appreciate you reading through all this lol!

I have a theory about the live action tape. The father says in the tape that her favorite ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip. After the camera drops we then hear " Mmmm. I love Mint Chocolate Chip " coming from Amanda. There are 3 explanations for this. First of all, maybe the kid is getting taken over by Amanda, turning Amandas favorite flavor into her favorite flavor. My next theory is that Amanda is taking information from her, which is helping Hamln get more ideas for new cartoons. It is kinda suspicious that the same day as her birthday is the day the cartoon about "Buying your own candy" is on. Finnaly, what is Lauren has been sucked into the TV and the door opening was just a red heiring. Please like this comment so that MatPat can see it.

Honest to god, this game is so sick. It's probably one of the coolest escape-room puzzle games I have ever seen. It's SO clever with its puzzles and if you pay attention to everything on the tape and do things like making the peach pie as you did, or answering a specific question with a specific answer, or unlocking things early with every playthrough, you unlock more and more secrets! This game lets you have an idea, and actually DO it!! It's crazy!! Genuinely one of the coolest puzzle games I have ever had the pleasure of playing.

I'm surprised that MatPat didn't recognize those symbols at 10:24. They represent major astronomical bodies in the solar system (the moon, planets, some asteroids, etc).

At first when you played the Uh Oh Accidents tape and Amanda asked who can help Wooly, I realized Amanda also fits instead of Doctor! I would love to see what she or Wooly does if you type in Amanda at that part-

Something that I noticed!! In the tape where Amanda is talking about rotting things, after you type in "dead", the word is in all caps! It's at 45:00 !! I bring this up because there's also that red box with a 4 letter code! I'm most definitely sure that putting "DEAD" into it will unlock something! Edit: I now know that the code is "GUTS", and that the word "ALIVE" was also capitalized right before you type in "DEAD" I've just been finding a lot of patterns, and analyzing everything. Even the number of letters in certain words. It could just be me, but some things seem too intentional

In the neighborhood tape, there were originally 5 body shadows, (the one matpat didn't notice was behind the store sign) and after purchasing the card it disappears 18:43 and 21:38

30:46 For the one that I believe MatPat is referencing; at the end, the Pide Piper leads all the children to a cave & they're trapped there until the mayor decides to pay up. After he pays up, he sends the children back. The ending version that I heard was that the Pide Piper summoned all the kids & sent them to the same river that he drowned the rats in & drowns all the children there too. Though, I also heard like three versions of this ending; Ending 1.) Pide Piper Drowns all the kids. -(The one I originally heard)- Ending 2.) Pide Piper Drowns all the kids, except for one child that couldn't keep up with the other children. Ending 3.) Pide Piper Drowns all the kids except for two kids, one who was deaf & one who was blind.

I feel like Amanda wasn’t the scariest before but now, with that last tape especially, it is bone chilling

2 things: When Amanda is asking you to put in something that is the opposite of alive, I wonder what she will do if you enter Kate. Or, going with the Pied Piper, kids or rats. Also, the tape with the kid, I know we are supposed to believe the kid left the house, but I think it is interesting that Amanda said her favorite type of ice cream was the mint chip one the parents just said that was the kid's. Curious if that is implying that Amanda became her, and that's why it matches up, or she changes for everyone in order to attract them. Those are just a few of my observations so far. I'm liking this lore horror so far, but man this is also a really good escape room.

"Lets cut the Capsule." If we bring up one of the definitions for Capsule it is this. Capsule: a tough sheath or membrane that encloses something in the body, such as a kidney, a lens, or a synovial joint. 😅

Usually, the story just ends there. The cave is a more recent (recent being relative here) addition. I was always told the children in the story were turned into rats as well

I honestly thought Amanda the adventurer was nothing special when I saw the initial version way back when it first came out, just a classic derivative kids mascot horror thing, but it’s developed into a really cool and interesting world with some great gameplay mechanics. Simple yet effective, and creative. Really cool to see this game come into its own, I’m really enjoying what it’s become

I wonder if to make the meat pie, you have to put the cheese in the mouse trap, use the mouse you caught as the meat, grow the potato using the key, and then the mushrooms in the corner. Have no clue about what this would do since I’ve never played the game myself, but the fact that the cheese randomly appears and we saw the mouse trap at the beginning seems to hint at it.

I'd like to say that by watching matpat I have started looking at games differently, I've been looking for LORE! I've been playing more and more horror games for the lore, and me and my mom both are really into it, so it's given us something fun to do together! This is my theory: When the peach pie tape began at 56:22, the kid became completely distracted by the TV and disregarded everything else. There was a mention of mint chocolate chip ice cream before the camera was dropped, and shortly after, Amanda exclaimed, "Mmmmm, I love mint chocolate chip!" (at 56:54, when the Dad mentioned the ice cream) and (at 57:08, when Amanda spoke). This implies that Amanda has the ability to interact with and hear the outside world, enabling her to alter her own words. In the true ending and the subsequent jumpscare, there is a man seen attempting to escape (this can be observed by examining individual frames). My hypothesis is that these individuals are the trapped souls from the show, and Amanda herself is trapped in the show by Hameln. It makes me wonder if Amanda is also under Hameln's control, enticing children to the streets so that Hameln can abduct them. Every object in the show possesses eyes and displays signs of life, trembling as if trying to break free from something or someone. In the Farm tape, the barn can be heard breathing heavily regardless of the given answer. As mentioned earlier, Amanda's capacity to interact with the real world suggests that a portal to the show can be opened at her will. This is further supported by another bad ending where we are transformed into some kind of meat, indicating that every object in the show represents a trapped soul, a fate worse than death. As can be observed, Amanda continually shakes her head, attempting to control herself in the "Oh No, Accidents!" tape. If we answer incorrectly, Amanda says, "You're wasting my time, and I am running out of patience." and then suddenly adds, "Try again! You're almost there." After saying this, she shakes her head, which could indicate that Amanda is being controlled, providing evidence for this theory. Regarding Amanda's reaction when we fail to help the kitten in the farm tape, her response is completely understandable. It made her vulnerable, causing her to lose control, and the monster began to take over, aiding her escape. Concerning Sam's disappearance, I suspect that Hameln turned him into Wooly, as we never receive any information about Wooly, and he is absent from the credits as well. In the last tape where only Amanda is present, she sings the intro song because Wooly was the one who produced the music. Furthermore, Amanda becomes upset when we enter the code into Blabbot while in the store and says, "I don't wanna play anymore..." because the robot (Blabbot) mentions, "Send my condolences to Kate," indicating that Amanda believed her friend Kate was still alive. I think she is saddened because Aunt Kate was close to freeing her. In the "In Your Neighborhood" tape during the end credits, the tape's name is not enclosed in quotation marks, suggesting that Amanda is in our neighborhood. I am quite certain that Amanda can only interact with objects associated with Hameln. Therefore, she is likely limited to those specific objects. So, what are your thoughts on this theory? I love Amanda the Adventurer so much. Within one playthrough, it’s pretty short, but because they do things like hiding the safe after you get the code, it forces you to replay the game over and over again to progress making the experience longer. It would be easy to just accept the basic endings, but going through over and over to piece things together for the true ending sure makes things worth it. If only that true ending wasn’t just as confusing though 😭
