I've been watching a bunch of videos on Amano shrimps and this one so far has all the information I needed while keeping it short and simple at the same time. Thanks for sharing

I have 4 Amanos in a 10 gallon, so I have to feed them. They wiped out my terrible algae in about a month. I hand feed my betta, who is very docile, and the Amanos have learned to come up for handouts when they see me. They will take food from tongs or a toothpick. You are right about their feeding habits, mine are absolute thugs but I adore them ❤️

All of my cherry shrimp spontaneously died at once and all the snails escaped the water but my amano shrimp continued with their day perfectly fine. I’m not sure what got into my roofless tank and did this but amano shrimp seem to be pretty strong creatures

i have so much fun watching my amanos "steal" food off the feeding bowl for my cherries. they dash in, grab as much food as they can and then bolt off to eat somewhere safe. meanwhile my cherries just sit on the food chomping away :D

This is really informative could you address alternative ways to provide calcium for them and whether or not they prefer to be in groups or can be on their own I'm very interested in trying to learn how to do ecosystems with plants and water and I definitely don't want to create anything that can't self contain and especially would not want to harm any of the water life that I would put in there. Yeah so just a small request LOL. Again I'm really glad I found your channel and appreciate all the information that you provide!

totally curious if you have heard of mexican dwarf crayfish and if they can be kept with amano and neocaridina. I love invertebrates and wanna do a shrimp/snail/ember tetra(12 in a 20 long heavy planted) tank with as many diff kinds of shrimp but MDC are crayfish and yes are algae eaters but im still unsure about keeping them with other shrimp (and ember tetras)

I have had the same pair of shrimp for almost 5 years now. I have tried getting more but they always go "missing" within a month. I don't know if they are escaping and dying and being eaten. I keep them with fancy guppies in a 5 gallon tank which I know a lot of people would say is too small but if they have made it to be 5 years old, I must be doing something right. I give them a few algae wafer pieces a week and they clean up the fish as they die. Had introduced a female by mistake so they were loading up on babies for a while. Could be what helped them live so long. I thought they only lived to be 3.

When u do water change and when u top up the water, u do it straight away or use drip method? if not using a drip method, is it OK with amano?

I bought 6 on Friday and now it’s Monday . I put them in the tank with my male betta and also put a snail in. This morning I noticed a shrimp laying on its side so I moved it to see if it was alive and it was dead. I’m not sure how it died. Not sure if it was from my betta or not but I was kinda bummed out. I was typing when you talked about the mold of the shrimp. You said don’t take it out of the tank but I did!!😩

i blend some egg shells or shells from the beach, i throw a little on my plants and for some snails. Is this harmfull?

They need minerals, minerals like calcium etc are important.

Do Amano shrimps eat fish left over foods?

0:54 hello you are saying 1 shrimp per 5 liter. i have 20 liter an nano tank but i want to mix fishes with shrimps so in that case am i not allowed to put any fish if i have already 4 shrimps or it doesnt matter ? thanks

The best thing for Black beard algae is a small Siamese algae eater. I bought one and it wiped out the black beard algae after I had tried every other method recommended. After years the Siamese algae got a bit bigger than I wanted, so I took him to my local fish shop, not a chain store. They gladly took him . Do not buy a Chinese Algae eater they grow very fast and can be a problem .

I had a huge Amano in my tank here in Sin gapore. Easily four inches. She would physically pull food away from my fish...

Help I can't find my amanos I hot 3 and in the last few days have only seen one also I have a gold zebra loach and an angelfish with an ohko aquascape any help would be appreciated
